Ira Kaufman Vs. Chris Russo

February 16th, 2017

Spars with radio legend.

Some bonus coverage of the Custodian of Canton today.

While this isn’t Bucs-related, it very much is Ira Kaufman-related.

The fine columnist of JoeBucsFan.com and Tampa Bay’s only Pro Football Hall of Fame voter, eye-RAH! has been feeling the wrath of angry sports radio hosts throughout the country because juvenile Terrell Owens has yet to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. God forbid actions have consequences.

Recently, eye-RAH! took to the airwaves of SiriusXM NFL Radio and stood tall in defending his colleagues while being the target of an inquisition by the one and only Chris “Mad Dog” Russo.

It’s a wild bit and Joe is sure you will enjoy it. Audio courtesy of SiriusXM Mad Dog Radio.

hall of fame voters are clueless bunch of has beens that have destroyed the meaning of great and a once respected institution in the hall of fame.

Media not being impartial and holding grudges against people!!!! Shocking!!!

  3. Joseph Mamma Says:

It’s not a position you can defend leaving him out. Dude had the second best career as a receiver ever.

  4. JA Says:

If behavior, inconsequential to the outcome of a game, with the exception of felonious acts, has been deemed acceptable then, if the numbers are HOF worthy, the player should get in. I disdain T.O., but, by the numbers, he should be in Canton…in baseball, although debatable, same could be said for Pete Rose and Sholess Joe Jackson. To hell with the roid abusers.

  5. tmaxcon Says:

hall of fame is nothing more than a politically correct popularity contest. the arrogant and classless voters have rendered the hall of fame meaningless. It’s a shame and incredibly disrespectful to the folks who actually earned their way in. The way these so called expert voters judge accomplishments is laughable. Clearly they appreciate Dungy’s smile on TV more than his Career LOSING playoff record. They have lost their way. Hall voters are just a wandering flock of sheep living in fantasy land.

  6. The Buc Realist Says:

If TO’s behavior, antics and locker room behavior is what is keeping him out!!! Then what does that say about john lynch’s play,, since he was a gold standard of behavior, leadership and lock room teammate????

I can only extrapolate that his play was not even close to hall of fame worthy!!!!!!!

  7. DB55 Says:

Funny thing is that I sound just like Russo when I read JBF comments. TO is a first ballot HOF hands down no question.

  8. flmike Says:

Bring this closer to home…if Sapp got in, T.O. should have been hand carried on a sedan chair by virgins through the doors of the hall….

    🙂

  10. LargoBuc Says:

T.O should be in regardless of how many former coaches say otherwise. His numbers are just too good to deny. I can understand not getting in the same year as Marvin Harrison but he really got denied over Terell Davis and Kurt Warner?
Oh and Simeon Rice deserves to be in Canton as much as any of the pewter pirates. Our defense went from elite to legendary when we brought him in.

    That was great

This guy must be related to loud mouth blowhard bloviating lou from commish’s podcasts that i refuse to listen to anymore until he quits playing favorites. I listen to a podcast for Bucs-info and Bucs fans opinions. I don’t care how it’s wrapped and delivered until the guy hosting the podcast tells everyone to keep on point and keep those points around 90 secs, then he plays some loudmouth whose telling us about his frikin cruise for 90% of his “Bucs take” REALLY?? If this is how you think you have to act to get a point across, you have no point, and I have no use for you.

  13. Stpetebucsfan Says:

This is not about T.O.’s jerkiness. I LOATHE Warren Sapp as a human being but I’d be the first to say he deserves to be HOF while TO does not!!!

Sapp made his teammates better not worse. He didn’t cause dissension on his own team. He wasn’t calling out the Buc’s QB’s or DB55 or playing JUST for himself.

Football is a TEAM sport. If this was golf I’d be OK with T.O. in the HOF. But he was a horrible teammate!!! He brought dissension to his locker rooms. He embarrassed the entire sport with childish, narcissistic and boring crap like taking the time to hide a freaking cellphone in the goal posts before a game so he could show off.

Here is the bottom line….an HOFer has to be valuable…valuable players are simply not traded THREE times in the prime of their careers. I’m not even counting the two additional trades to Cincy and Buffalo. He was a cancer to his team.

That’s an interesting point St. Pete, and sounds like what Ira was talking about. It appears for the hall voters at least, the relationship w/ teammates carries much more weight than how said players acted outside the game of football in towards the public.

But in the end, I still think he deserves to be in the Hall. His stats alone should get him in, especially when you consider ppl like Sapp, OJ Simpson, etc., are in it.

LOL @ Russo absolutely losing his mind in this clip. Good stuff Joe!
