Help Wanted

February 21st, 2017

Looking for work.

You know the Bucs need a starting wide receiver. Joe knows the Bucs need a starting wide receiver.

And Joe thinks it is safe to assume Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht knows the Bucs need someone to complement Mike Evans on the other side of the field.

Well, a guy who has a demonstrated ability to be an impact receiver, Pierre Garçon, is openly knocking on doors in a digital sort of way looking for a prospective employer.

With virtually no talks between his agent and the Redskins, Garcon, who will turn 31 in August, took to Instagram to peddle himself for work.

@pierregarcon: #YallHiring?

Garcon’s agent, Brad Cicala, told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network that he and his client “are getting his resumé together to put on Monster soon.”

Joe sure hopes Cicala travels to Indianapolis next week for the combine and has adult beverages with Licht and the two talk turkey about getting Garçon to wear pewter and red.

He would be my #1 WR target this offseason. I’m kind of in the minority on that lol.

  2. Buccaneer scotty Says:

They also said he should get around 9 million dollars a year

  3. Kevinthepainter Says:

Listen I love this guy as a number 2 reciever, but it worked so well in washingston because they had garcon and speed axross from him. We are looking for that speed across from evans. Im surprised the Kenny Stills train has slowed down

  4. Harry in Costa Rica Says:

    I agree with Kevin.

My choices, in order, are Stills, Pryor, Jax then Garcon. Speed creates my priority list bc we have very capable hands in Evans. But don’t get me wrong, I would be extremely happy with any one of the four.

  5. Matt Says:

FA I would be happy with any of those receivers although Pryor is still young and has a longer career ahead of him so he would be my 1st choice. Then I would pick John Ross in the first round, Budda Baker in the second round, RB Joe Mixon in the third (you get a first round talent in the third), and TE Bucky Hodges’s in the fourth. I would draft O-line and D-line with remaining picks.

  6. Destinjohnny Says:

When your draft were once horrible then just okay you have to go the free agent route to fill holes

  7. RustyRhinos Says:

Can we please not gain another 30+ WR without adding a fast good hands preferably tall 6’1″ or bigger Rookie. We are not yet 1 vet Wr.

  8. R.O. Says:

Reasonable deal he is a fine option… If you think any Rookie WR we draft at 19 or lower will be a better option in the short term then you really are crossing your fingers. We need to sign a reliable vet and draft 1 or 2 WRs and hope one or both work out.

  9. Bucsfanman Says:

@Destin- I’ll second that notion. I’m not against signing him but I would like to see us target younger players, with speed preferably.

  10. LakeLandBuc Says:

    Robert Woods and/or Kenny Stills.

  11. JJBucFan Says:

Would love to have Pryor but I am starting to warm up to Stills- The games I saw he dropped passes- but love his speed- could be the next D Jax in the right situation. (I don’t think D Jax will come here). Garson not fast enough anymore for what we need, JMO

  12. Kobe Faker Says:

If Tampa some how signs Garson, He will be the best and most productive signing in the history of the Tampa Franchise

Garson will take Jameis QB skillset, situational IQ and experience to a another huge level in his career and level we need for him to be at to win superbowls

Jameis has regressed last year. Because of the limited options of playmakers, Jameis didnt improve and progressed in beating defensive coordinators, defensive schemes against him.

Good defenses can continuously beat Jameis strengths and without other players to compliment and surround him with talents to beat the better defenses we will never be in the playoffs

  13. SB Says:

Glad to see Kwon getting national recognition.
    ……………..
    Jarrad Davis, LB, Florida

At 6-foot-2 and 238 pounds, Davis’ best fit is at weak-side linebacker. He’s an explosive athlete with great range who profiles as an every-down player in the NFL. He could also play middle linebacker if he bulked up a bit. Oakland has needs at both positions and could use a Kwon Alexander-type player like Davis at the second level.

  14. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

SB this is JBF… No talk of raiders yo
What they need or do has no place here.

  15. Joeypoppems Says:

He was talking about how they gave Kwon praise. That is Bucs related lol

  16. SB Says:

I was referring to the way McShay used Kwon Alexander to describe Davis. I could have just deleted Oakland’s name out of the post I guess

  17. 941BUC Says:

Everyone being pick on who we pick up.I don’t give a BUC!just get anyone that can catch and run routes for us!
    #WEAPONSFORWINSTON

  18. Rod Munch Says:

I’d take Garcon over Dexter Jackson, mainly for the reason I think he’ll be healthy and play more than 6 games. Garcon is a solid #2, a professional that has been productive for a while. Pair him while trying to sign a speedster to play the slot and you should be pretty good.

  19. M0J0 Says:

I would go after Robert Woods first, then Garcon next. Garcon kinda makes me think about McCardell back in the Gruden days. An older, savvy vet who still has plenty to offer.

  20. shooter Says:

Agholor and Kelce from Philly for Martin and Verner

Maybe Martin and a draft choice

  21. Taurean Rogers Says:

A speedster with tyrek hill explosive moves is victor bolden Jr 2round maybe check him out

  22. Taurean Rogers Says:

    Would be a great pickup

  23. TeddyTB Says:

He wouldn’t be high on my list even though I believe he’s a really good reliable receiver. Garcon not being a speedster means your only gonna get faster at the slot position. While are offense would still be better than last years I wanna see us be dynamic. I’m not really for signing older guys but I’d prefer DJ simply because of the speed. I’d love to get Corey Davis in the draft but seems out of reach. If we could sign a fast FA WR2 then draft one of those many fast slot/#2 guys in the 2nd round and grab OJ howard in the first (who’s fast for a big TE). Sh!t would be crazy! Lol

  24. Buccaneersfan82 Says:

Sign a young wr on the rise like Pryor resign jax and focus on rb ol and dl in the draft and possibly a safety or CB

  25. LakeLandBuc Says:

If we want speed then we should draft the Miami Hurricanes WR Stacy Coley Jr in the 4th round.

  26. Trubucfan22 Says:

Did people forget that garcon is really fast too? He ran a 4.4 40 time. If you want speed, he is your guy. I bashed Garcon before, but he has been fairly productive for 2 different teams. He has talent and speed. Not sure what he is asking (probably more than he’s worth) but Licht should definitely sit down with his agent and see if they could find some common ground.
