You Can Thank Miko

Miko has the secret to Brent Grimes' fountain of youth.

Miko has the secret to Brent Grimes’ fountain of youth.

Bucs cornerback Brent Grimes is 33. Dudes his age are not supposed to be balling with guys 10 years younger.

But Grimes, who was tied for the NFL lead in passes defended entering today’s game, not only worked over Stinking Panthers receivers today, but owned pouty Cam Newton, even taking a Newton offering back for a pick-six of 31 yards.

“It was a great play,” Newton offered.

You would think Newton would have stopped testing Grimes. But no! He kept going to the well but the well was dry.

After the game, Joe joked with Grimes that an old man by NFL cornerback standards should not be abusing the likes of Newton like he did today.

“I get that all the time,” Grimes, a Pro Bowl alternate, laughed about being called over the hill or too old to play corner in the NFL. But I keep playing.”

But the real secret to his success? His wife, Miko, turned him on to the joys of veggies.

“That it!” Grimes said. “She introduced me to a lot of vegetables that I didn’t know about. That’s the key.”

Joe hopes Newton and other like-minded quarterbacks continue to test Grimes early and often next year.

We all a huge debt to Brent Grimes. He is saving us all from having this lunatic chick in circulation. I thank Brent, my wife, and my preacher, for keeping me safe from this nutjob, Miko. You all should too. I mean that in the best way.

The Joy of Veggies. Why do I start thinking of. Oh, nevermind.

  2. Bob in valrico Says:

Grimes showed up and had an exceptional game!

  3. Fred E. Buc Says:

Yes, good game by Brent. And it wasn’t veggies. Remember our man out in San Fran, who has weak heart and weak legs for the National Anthem. He loves him some veggies.

  4. Lunchbox Says:

Hey, if Darrell Green could play into his 40’s, who’s to say Grimes couldn’t as well? Of course, Green was probably the best conditioned player in the league at the time, routinely outrunning blazing fast rookies. He was a freak. But if he could do it, conceivably, so could Grimes.

    test

So Brent call that a veg-ina?

  7. Buccfan37 Says:

Kudos to Miko and Brent! Eat hardly any meat myself. It’s a veggie life, the non GMO variety.

It would be awful nice if 93 had half the heart and toughness miko does

Are you looking in a mirror?

    loggedontosay,
Do you have a clue who Miko is and why the article is really written? Do you think much?

  11. ElioT Says:

Veggies and a really good birthday cake.

Mike may be a hood rat but you know she can keep Brent’s toes curlin.

    Good for him.

57 Tackles, 4 INTS, 24 Pass Defenses. Outstanding season, we should have signed him back in 2013 instead of trading a 1st and 4th for Revis Island.

  14. Kevin Says:

Yeah those veggies really helped Arian Foster.

But I would like to see Grimes back. Wanted him here three years ago

  15. DallasBuc Says:

Thanks Miko for showing us what lousy standards are left to strive for!

  16. Greg Smithwick Says:

I spent the season producing and editing Miko’s podcast, iHeartMiko.

Whatever the knock on her from before, whatever people want to say about her…

Brent, Miko, and their family are AMAZING folks. They have quietly stepped up to provide members of my community (West Pasco County) food and assistance through local homeless charities. They’ve invited me into their home, and made me feel welcome.

Miko recorded a podcast here at my house, and was nothing like her public image.

We’d be very lucky to have them back here, next season.

    I am a fan.

    Ride on, Beige Ranger!

I can hear Miko now: “My man plays well and stays young because I feed him good p@$$y.”

  18. NFLNut Says:

The disrespect towards this wonderful player’s wife is quite disgusting. She hasn’t been a negative with the Bucs, so leave the lady alone.

  19. loggedontosay Says:

    Fred,

I think that you are reflecting on yourself when result to insulting others.

  20. loggedontosay Says:

Some of you should read your comments and say to yourselves, “I am worse than Milo.”

  21. orlbucfan Says:

Miko Grimes loves her husband and football. The prehistoric sexist comments she either ignores or blows the cave dweller cretin off (and NOT sexually). As a fellow female football fan, I do the same. Great game, Brent and Miko and Happy New Year!!

P.S.: Just cos some of us love veggies and fruit doesn’t mean vegan/vegetarian. 🙂
