Bucs fans everywhere should be happy for Mike Evans soaking in Pro Bowl festivities week for the first time, starting with practice with the NFC squad tomorrow.

But the appreciation isn’t just from fans.

Before the season ended, Evans was celebrated on the Buccaneers Radio Network by Ali Marpet and Donovan Smith.

Marpet marveled about what makes Evans elite. “It’s a confidence. It’s a mentality. He knows he’s going to get that ball,” he said.

“He’s a freak-of-nature playmaker,” Smith said, overflowing pride for his new Pro Bowl teammate. “You can tell what kind of game he’s going to have by the way he catches the balls in practice. It’s like one-handed in the corner of the end zone, tip-toe, you know, back pylon easily. And it’s like, ‘It’s going to be one of them games for Mike.’

Smith said he plans to support Evans in person at the Pro Bowl, even if he Evans doesn’t pay for the party bus he requested for the offensive line.

Joe hopes Evans gets plenty of fan support on Sunday night. There are loads of Tampa Bay fans in Orlando, and as the only Bucs offensive player there, he should here the love if he catches the ball.

This is a big part of that culture change we have all been waiting for. Jameis, Evans, Kwon, this is the new guard of this team. I hope that Kwon gets the C on his chest next year.

I would rather he drop out.. if he blows an O-ring for a stupid exhibition we will be devastated. If I was a Glazer I would have cut him a check NOT to play.
