“They Are Very Much For Real!”

December 14th, 2016
Hollering about the Bucs.

Hollering about the Bucs.

If a game flexed for Sunday night in prime time to be serenaded by Carrie Underwood in the house of America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys, doesn’t convince you, Brian Billick will.

Billick, the Super Bowl-winning coach who just happens to be the brother-in-law of Bucs defensive coordinator Mike Smith, isn’t just on the Bucs bandwagon. He’s driving the damn thing running old ladies off the side of the Howard Frankland Bridge.

Speaking this week on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” with Kay Adams, who wasn’t wearing her porn glasses, Billick was all in on the Bucs.

“Tampa Bay has been brilliant, especially defensively,” Billick said. “Let’s put this in context now: The previous eight games, the New Orleans Saints had been averaging – averaging! – 450 yards of offense. Better than 300 pass. Better than 100 rushing. Average – average! – 30 points a game.

“Then this Tampa Bay Buc team comes in and collectively keeps them under 300 yards and gives up only 11 points, gets three turnovers. And here is the impressive thing: Second half of the game Tampa Bay’s offense only gets three points, really wasn’t doing much, OK? Played well in the first half, not playing well in the second half. Drew Brees, if there is a guy who you don’t want to give a chance to come back in a one-score game it is Drew Brees. They had three opportunities in the fourth quarter. And what did that Tampa Bay defense do? They get two turnovers and a three-and-out.

“Mike Smith, the defensive coordinator, has the Tampa bay Buccaneers flying on defense. Jameis Winston is not turning the ball over. They are very much for real!”

We will see how real this Bucs team is when they travel to Dallas. If the Bucs somehow pull off an upset of the Cowboys on the road in front of Al Michaels and chief PFF tribesman Cris Collinsworth, Joe might be so geeked he could very well be up all night doing shots.

If the Bucs are able to put that sort of notch on the belt, then it’s time to take a shovel to the “old Bucs.” Because that era of the Bucs will be officially dead.

  5. Defense Rules Says:

Hey Joe, why won’t my comment post? I didn’t even use any bad words.

  6. tdtb2015 Says:

This game is the prerequisite for the Super Bowl. With a win in Dallas expect us to represent the NFC at the Super Bowl Baby!

Would you like another Raiders vs Bucs Super Bowl?

    Go Bucs!!!

  7. Chucklehead Says:

I can see it now. We win this game but all the headlines are that Dallas implodes. Once again giving tdhe Bucs no credit.

  8. Defense Rules Says:

Now I’m worried. Everyone jumps on the Bucs Bus when you’re winning, but will just as quickly throw you under the bus when you lose. Dallas is sporting an 11-2 record for a reason: they’re a solid football team that makes relatively few mistakes. And then that same New Orleans team that’s been flying high offensively all year long (see Billick’s description) is the SAME New Orleans team that we face again after Dallas. And Carolina could well end up being the most dangerous of all of them if they’re healthy … hard to forget the 38-10 thumping they gave us in their house this past Jan 3rd on their way to the Super Bowl. We owe them one.

It’s still ‘one game at a time’. Dallas can be beaten, and I’m still convinced Bucs will win 24-17 IF we can get (and stay) healthy. Our DLine has been the key to our improved defensive play … even though they’re banged up, we need all 5 of our key players (McCoy, McDonald, Ayers, Gholston & Noah Spence) to shut down the run game & keep the pressure on Prescott. Our offense needs to get Humphries, Stocker & Dotson back and for Jameis to have a great passing day if we expect to put up a decent number of points against the Dallas defense. Tough game ahead in any event.

  9. Kobe Faker Says:

i dont know why the forums, local media, coaches are not talking about

    RUN DEFENSE

No doubt we have been playing great pass defense and mixing up coverages to create turnovers BUT!!!!

We can fly around all we want, but we need our players and Mike Smith to talk, eat, sleep

    RUN DEFENSE

We dont need interceptions. we need 3 and outs. we need 3rd and long situations for Dak to throw downfield

We are 21st in the NFL on run defense. We need discipline and containment on the edge

Does the players and coaches have a plan???

  10. Warthog Says:

The plan is to go to Dallas, eat they lunch, whack em with Koetter Mf stick and make it back home in time for a late night Cuban at Brocatos.

  11. 1Gr8Buc Says:

Warthog ON POINT! Kobe, you’re not even supposed to be here. From what I can remember we had our share of 3 and outs on Sunday.

  12. Pickgrin Says:

Belicheat knows good D when he sees it!

    Go away Kobe Welcher

  13. 941BUC Says:

Tampa WILL make Dak look like the rookie he is.I predict 2interceptions and 1 forced fumble on Elliott.Tampa wins 17-12.

  14. Warthog Says:

Maaaaaaaan if the Bucs can make Brees look like Kraepernick, what the hell does DAK think he gon do?!? Lmao he’s cooked my friends.

  15. Warthog Says:

There once was a QB named Dak
Whose mom had a really nice rack
    The Giants twice tricked him
In his butt they kicked him
Then the Bucs came to town and attacked!

  16. The Buc Realist Says:

What is kobe LIAR still doing here, I thought he promised to never post here again!!!!!

I have 2 words why the Bucs will win Sunday Night!!! “Rookie WALL”!!!!!!!!!

  17. Tampa Tony Says:

Guess Billick is a “hater” as he mentioned Jameis being turnover free. Glad the d has carried us to these wins but Jameis and the offense need to step up big time these last 3 weeks

  18. Sunny Says:

We are gonna dominate the line of scrimmage, and we are gonna kill the fu..ing head , Kill the head and the body will die

    —————————-
Brian Billick never had that nickname as a coach. It belongs to Belicheat, the Pats HC. Billick definitely knows defense with or without his B-I-L. Agree with the last sentence. I can’t stand Cris Collingsworth so thanks for the heads up, Joe. Glad I am a Bucs Radio fan. 🙂 Go Mighty Bucs!!

  23. gilhealy Says:

See, see, I told you. Even Billick say’s Jameis is turnover free. See, see. Tampa Tony, grow up, get out of the basement, and quit looking at that Mariota poster. It’s gonna fall off, or you’re gonna go blind.

  24. SB with Jameis Says:

  25. chipbuc Says:

Tampa Tony should change his name to Nip Pick Tony what a tool !!!!!

  26. Piratic Says:

    Kobe Faker=Oath Breaker

  27. chipbuc Says:

Sorry Tony its Nit Pick Tony don’t want your new name spelled wrong.

  28. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Chucklehead..I am seeing quite the opposite..quite a few of the experts are picking the Bucs to win against Dallas..even those not picking the Bucs are saying they might be eating their words..

  29. Brandon Says:

We’re looking a little like that Ravens defense of 2000 right now, that Mike Smith was an assistant on. Great defense and a struggling offense. The Ravens got extra hot that season near playoff time, got in as a wildcard (The Titans won their division that year) and destroyed everyone in the playoffs.

  30. Kevin Says:

Jameis will need to open things up this week. The offemse has to do better or we will lose by a fieldgoal. That oline is WAY to good for us to hold to 13 points or less. I believe they can win but they must be sharp in all phases for 4 quarters.

    Go bucs!!!

  31. Kevin Says:

I am glad koetter is not letting anyone celebrate either. 8 and 5 isnt the goal, there is.only one goal and they are nowhere near it yet keep working hard and practtice hard good things will happen but there is a long way to go!!!
