I would have preferred my sister run back there. At least she gives a crap. Martin cares about making ‘business decisions’. That’s why a hammy pull that I heal from in 2 weeks kept him out all year. The guy is a bum. Get a 7th rd pick and move the hell on. He’s my most disliked player. At least the other guys want to play/win. Martin could not care less.

    Your witness.

  2. No Surprise Says:

No one will know if Martin would have had a good game because Koetter wanted to make a statement. Well, that statement should have been made a while back. Not the day of fighting for a playoff spot after 15 years of missing them. Despite all the dressing, the loser mentality continues in Tampa during the lost decade. Koetter will rightfully get blame for sitting one of the highest paid backs in the league in a must win game to show what? His coaching prowess? It is his job to make sure Martin is ready and doing his job. Koetter gambled and put himself in front of the team and lost. He needs to find an offensive assistant as he has proven to be overwhelmed on gamedays.

I build Homes in Montana. I don’t have a clue what is actually going in in One Buc Place. If I thought I did then I should stop building and try to get a job in the NFL.

Joe u had inside scoop and obviously saw this coming. We lost. So im sceptical of any decisions made like this aND as a die hard fan that wanted to be in playoffs so bad …..No I don’t like the decision. It’s more than just production as u say about Mccoy. McCoy gives offenses and different scheme right and rightfully doug martin also. Rogers obviously doesn’t give defenses as much attitude than Martin does.

    How did rodgers do today?

2nd down and 2 yards to go. 2 consecutive rodgers runs later: 4th and 1, punt. I guess Martin was the cause of that failed third down right joe?

At times the BLOCKING was decent, for the first time in a while i saw a few huge holes for the RBs to jaunt through. Other times the RBs had no where to go. I dont know what the average ended up being for rodgers, he had some decent runs mixed in with the 1 yard gains, i would guess he had a 3.5-4 yard average.

I think the run issues has nothing to do with Martin and everything to do with the o line. Im guessing koetter is getting desperate for the run game to come back to life. And if you do bench doug to just test the waters for rodgers, you might as well deactive him because he isnt playing special teams. It will be interwsting to see what happens next week. The bucs are playing a meaningless game, and only pride is on the line. Does martin get the nod or is he shut down with a bitter taste in his mouth going into the off season? If he gets shut down again im guessing he gets cut. They thought we could win without him in a playoff push. Im saddened by the developments because i love Martin, but he lost the coaching staff’s trust. Really no way back from that.

My only hope is that the bucs do not over draft a RB and do everything they can to improve this stinking o line.

Also just for shlts and giggles… when martin starts and plays the full game the bucs were 6-1. Games started by other backs? 2-6… just sayin.

And then if it was about performance ( which I doubt) was an issue he couldn’t return kick offs? John huff the goat was active. But martin wasn’t good enough. Not an extra blocking back tool?? QuestionIING everything about this

  7. ClodHopper Says:

All game long when Rogers got the rock I kept saying “Dougie can’t do that!!”

He got over 4 yards a carry. Dougie ever do that this year? Not that I remember. I don’t see what the big deal is. Long overdue. I’m only pissed it took so long for Dirk to grow a pair and do it. And I lobbbied for Martin to get a big fat contract after last year.

  8. Harry in Costa Rica Says:

To me this end result justified the decision. We went from under 3 yards/c to 4.2 ypc. Good decision. For those who pine for Douggie, I think you are living in last year.

  9. Jim Says:

2nd team maybe…inactive in pretty rough…this could have had an effect on the team

  10. Rat Pack Sports Says:

Look it’s a rookie coach move. There’s a reason why quizz was on the streets at the beginning of the yr and a reason why Doug is one of the best backs in the NFL when everything is going right. That’s means play calling, execution, blocking schemes. This is what pisses me off. When you line can’t open any holes up the middle and you continue to try and run out of a single back formation.. But that’s Doug fault also.. You have to show confidence in your guys and koetter failed

Last season when Mike Evans couldn’t catch a cold. Did Lovie bench him? No he let him continue to play himself out of it. If Jameis is struggling u think Dirk is going to deactivate him? Probably not! if you fans agree with this then you don’t know football and are just homers. Would playing Doug yesterday would have won them the game? Probably not but it’s the fact that Dirk Koetter thought so that’s baffling.

And for the guy above who thinks he healed in two weeks from a guy tear.. Lol you didn’t tear it probably just a strained muscle..
