One Buc Out

December 16th, 2016
Injuries piling up.

Injury report.

Only one Bucs player has been declared out for Sunday night’s game at Dallas with the release of today’s injury report.

That would be right tackle Demar Dotson who is still in concussion protocol. This will be his second game out. Look for Gosder Cherilus to start again.

The Bucs have four players total listed as questionable. That includes linebacker Lavonte David, safety Chris Conte, tight end Luke Stocker and defensive tackle, the immortal Sealver Siliga.

Of the four, only David was limited in practice participation today.

Cornerback Morris Claiborne highlights Cowboys players declared out for Sunday. Wide receiver Dez Bryant is listed as questionable and was limited in practice today with a bum back. Bryant is one of 10 Cowboys listed as questionable.

Joe, this is random, but I hate using twitter, so I’ll send this to you here:

    http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000754740/Danny-Vitale-drops-would-be-TD

The chosen one, Dan Vitale, dropping a wide open td for the hapless Browns.

  2. Louis Friend Says:

Saw on the Dallas page that Bryant is fully expected to play. It’s their 2 starting OL that I’m more curious about. Two of their starting DL have already been declared out, including one of their DT run disruptors.

Out of all their injuries the one that I keep looking at is Sean Lee. He’s been dealing with knee problems all year, and I’m wondering if it’s finally catching up to him this week. If for some reason he had to sit this out or is less than his usual All-Pro self, it changes the Cowboys defense drastically downward. He’s the best LB in the NFL right now, period.

  3. Pawel Says:

I see Cowboys DE Lawerence out as well.

  4. DB55 Says:

Honestly I think Alex Cross playing better than Stocker anyway.

  5. Trubucfan22 Says:

^^ and that is why Dan Vitale is not a buccaneer. He’s just not NFL material. And i wanted him to work out sooo bad. Bucs needed a fullback badly, it was very telling of Vitale’s ability when the bucs cut him leaving a huge hole at FB. They would rather have no FB than have Vitale. Oh well. Hopefully we are able to find one for next season. Our run game clearly needs a FB to lead our RBs through the hole.

  6. BigMacAttack Says:

They need to give Goster a lot of help.

  7. Defense Rules Says:

@DB55 … ‘Honestly I think Alex Cross playing better than Stocker anyway.’ Seriously? If you’re going strictly by catches, Stocker’s still better: 5 targets, 4 catches (80%) as compared to Cross’ 7 targets, 4 catches (57%). Have you even watched to see how much better our run game performs when Luke Stocker is in there? Luke’s an excellent blocker (6’5″, 255 lbs probably helps). When Luke’s healthy (he has missed 4 games) he’s in on about 50% of our offensive snaps … for a reason (OK, hint, it’s not his pass catching). Alex Cross, not so many snaps (not so many at all). Sorry DB, but Stocker’s a key cog in our run game and key for pass protection. Give him his due.

  8. Eric Says:

Completely agree Defense rules. Stocker is the most underappreciated players on the team. He changes the run games single-handedly when he’s healthy. There is a reason that he’s been a consistent player on our team for this long under several coaches. He’s a huge asset.

  9. Waterboy Says:

Bosa must have worked Dotson over pretty good in that SD game.

  10. Kobe Faker Says:

Prophet Kobe early this week stated he speaks to the Football Gods and about our opponent injuries

I have come down the mountain with good news

if Detroit beats NYG- more Dal questionable players (SL) will not play

Prophet Kobe has posted…and it shall be

Joe, I think u should post this video link in an article tmrw…

It’s so awesome to see a promo/hype video for the Bucs on nfl.com.

Jameis is such a fierce competitor. I love it

  12. unbelievable Says:

Dotson being out really sucks. Cherilus has not looked like half the man this season that he was last year. Really thought he would play this week. This game definitely just got a lot tougher.

  13. bucfancocacolagoodtimes Says:

Damn huge loss, goona be uphill even more now Sunday

  14. orlbucfan Says:

DDotson out like this is cos he got his major BELL RUNG BIG-TIME. It’s called concussion, but who knows how bad he got slammed in the head?!Now I see all the crap about him not starting. It’s from the same bunch who have been slamming him on here for quite some time. I have other blogs I follow who are a little more realistic than the crap posted on here. Go Bucs!

    Missing: Big Dog Haynes

    LOL!!!

    …………………..
Lol!! I tried Joe. We had a bet on the Chiefs game that if we won he would leave forever. He stayed away three days then came back.

  16. SB with Jameis Says:

Except that Dotson has been a penalty machine as of late UB. I hope Cherlius has the same mindset that it seems EVERY Buc has right now and that is that they can play with ANYBODY!

  17. cmurda Says:

Honestly, I don’t know what would be worse. Missing LVD in this gae or missing Stocker in it. One one hand, Stocker helps our running game more than most fans would realize but on the other hand, I am worried about Zeke leaving D Smith in the dust. LVD hasn’t had his strongest year but he’s had 3 or 4 solid games in a row.

  18. DB55 Says:

    Def Rules and Cmurda

First off I think you guys are great but a bit short sided on your comments. Seems like you lack vision.

You’re comparing a 10y vet to a 10week vet and basing your arguement on the diff of 2 throws? You might be looking at quantity over quality too. Cross made this sick 180 catch along the sidelines 2 weeks ago that I highly doubt Stocker would have made. It went for 2y but it was super impressive if you were watching.

Second you may have missed all the pass protection blocks and run blocks Cross makes I.e. Last week Cross blocked two guys to help Martin get into the EZ. Two!

Finally, penalties. Idk about you but I see Stocker gets flags all the time Cross is yet to get a penalty. But most important Jameis has this udfa playing like he belongs in the NFL which to me is a victory on its own.

It’s a new team fellas, ya might have to let go of your oldie but goodies I guess. Stocker just isn’t that good imo. Dude lost his job to another udfa from Harvard. Come on bro, who does that?

  19. Big Marlon B Says:

i laugh every time i see someone mention “Alex” Cross. i didn’t know Morgan Freeman was on the team.

  20. DB55 Says:

Alan but I like Alex better

    Kobe Faker=Oath Breaker

  22. Defense Rules Says:

DB55, there may be a ‘changing of the guard’ to Cross one day, but today’s not that day. Tomorrow’s not looking that good for him either if Stocker’s healthy. Luke is by far the best blocking TE we’ve got on the Bucs, and is especially good I think at providing additional pass protection on the edges. And DB, this is only his 6th year, not 10th, so he’s still got at least a couple good years left in him. Admit it, Bucs are a better offensive team when Stocker’s in the lineup.

  23. Bob in valrico Says:

Brate has said many times that he has been helped tremendously by Stocker
Who is like a coach on the field. He explained the things the coaches didn’t,like where he was supposed to be and the why.

  24. Rrsrq Says:

Don’t knowing know much about Dallas defensive line, but I don’t think they have a Cam Jordan over there, Godser will have a bounce back

  25. richbucsfan Says:

I am not a believer quite yet. Happy for the winning streak, but believe the Cowboys will blow the Bucs out. Would love to be surprised, but won’t be shocked if they get beat. Bucs are on the way up, but will take a step back tomorrow. No way they stop Zeke. No way they stop Dak. Too many injuries to the D. The O simply is not ready for prime time. Dallas’ D licking their chops.

  26. DB55 Says:

    Def

I don’t see an overwhelming difference other than experience but what do I know, am I right?

I for one like all the “Bad News Bucs”. Cross, Brate, Shep, Hump, Barber, Gottschalk, Martino.

Outside of dougie and mike JW doing it with virtually all udfa. I just think it’s amazing.
