Josh Huff At Kickoffs Should End

December 24th, 2016
Playoff killer?

Playoff killer?

One reason why Josh Huff was signed after being cut by the Eagles (getting popped for gun/DUI charges on one offense isn’t a sole reason to get run) was because of his return skills.

After watching three weeks of this so-called skill, the Bucs should go back to Ryan Smith, permanently for the remainder of the season.

Huff is brutal at kick returns and is so bad, Moe Howard gouged Curly in the eyes.

It was bad enough that Huff’s soccer headbutting of the football against the Saints two weeks ago on the one-yard line set up a Bucs safety. Today was just as bad.

Huff bobbled a kick to open the second half and took his dear time trying to recover the ball, almost like he was scared to touch it.

Instead of a return, it was a muffed return and Huff finally fell on the ball at the Tampa Bay-4. Sure enough, throwing from his end zone, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, threw a pick when Mike Evans had his route squeezed.

You could smell what was going to happen. Two players later, the Saints scored and took a 20-7 lead before fans in the Superdome were able to sit down with their halftime beers.

Right there was your game-changer.

Sadly, it took the Bucs a near-loss and a likely playoff-puking loss, respectively, to figure out Huff is a trainwreck as a kick returner. Today, the defense was simply not good enough to overcome trash plays like what Huff committed and the two picks thrown by Jameis.

Why did it take Dirk Koetter this long to figure out Huff stunk? Afroblunder Kenny Bell botched his first kickoff this preseason and never, ever saw the field again as a kick returner. Why did Huff get an unwarranted second chance when the team, at the time, was in the thick of a playoff hunt?

The two areas the Bucs greatly need or need to improve on this offseason is the return game and weapons for Jameis. Currently, the Bucs have no return game to speak of.

If Huff is the answer, Joe has no idea what the question is unless it is, “What blows chunks on kickoffs?”

Still not shedding light on that OLINE. Again another poor performance by them. We need to get more stout in the trenches this offseason.

If Joe thought the offensive line was the worst thing since sliced bread, he would write about it. Look around the league. Teams, sometimes winning teams, have garbage offensive lines (Seattle for example).

If Joe thoughtt the main reason for losing was the offensive line, he’d write about it. Immediately.

Jameis had plenty of time to throw today. Yeah, Ali Marpet had a crap game. It happens. This isn’t PlayStation where players are robots.

Hell, it’s not even the worst offensive line the Bucs have had this decade.

You know, there are winning teams that are able to adapt and overcome weakness, if you believe the offensive line is a weakness.

Jamies and the run d were the problems. O line wasn’t amazing but they were fine for the most part. Huff had another bone headed play but he didn’t make Jameismthrow that pick. Worst case they punt and give Saints amazing field position. For all we know he still throws pick starting at his own 25. I think we can all agree Huff may have some use at wr, but keep him off KR

    Yeah, blame the KR guy for that interception. LOL! {{Might want to work on your reading comprehension in all phases}}

Why did we pick up this druggy, character-issue guy again? Dime a dozen in terms of talent.

  7. Buccfan37 Says:

Flashes of improvement have shown looking back at the results so far. Like other teams the Bucs have a worn down and injured team lac

Touchy ain’t the word for it. Oh well Go Bucs!

Ac/dc loving blah blah . . . Probably is forcing dirk to keep huffy puffy on the field

Bernard Reedy is back and healthy. Speedy Reedy was All MAC First team at Toledo as PR and KR. Reedy had a bad game last game of preseason vs Washington. Tropical Storm Matthew pummeled Ray Jay that night, plus he tore his MCL. Why not give him a shot?
