Richard Sherman was crying and hunting Kleenex at the back of the Seahawks defense Sunday, and it seems a guy in front of the Seattle defense also was acting like a toddler.

Per center Joe Hawley chatting with Tom Krasniqi on WDAE-AM 620 last night, Hawley got a spit shower to the face in the middle of the game.

“There were hitting me late and then one guy got up, and when I came up all fired up, he actually spit in my face after one of the plays,” Hawley said. “And that really got me fired up because I just don’t think that should be a part of the game at all. I mean, it’s one thing thing pushing, shouting, yelling, but as soon as he spit in my face, I was pretty fired up about that. It’s disgusting.”

Krasniqi was pressing Hawley to reveal the culprit was Seahawks rookie Jarran Reed, but Hawley only said he “thinks” it was Reed.

Either Hawley doesn’t want to directly call out Reed, or he doesn’t know who did the spitting. Joe’s lived long enough to know a man knows exactly who spit in his face.

Perhaps there was a second spitter?

Bravo on the Seinfeld reference. Well done sir.

    Better than an ASJ dump.

Spitting would usually evoke an uncontrolled violent response that would have received a flag…..good thing teammates restrained Hawley.

  4. Gilhealy Says:

You can see he and Jameis pointing out the guy and giving the ref an earful. It’s cool. Seahawks know what time it is. A lot a folks are gonna get their mind right pronto like. Those 53 expect to win every week. They have since the beginning. The “want to” is strong with this one.

  5. Patrick in VA Says:

The Seahawks players and their fans deserve each other. Both are pretty intolerable.

  6. The Buc Realist Says:

We all complained about ME13 last year about begging and crying to the refs….But I do not think their is no one that cries harder than pete carroll!!!!!

@Nosbos- DITTO, my friend! That’s the kind of guy we want protecting the franchise!

Sounds like a wounded seabird just had to take a dump on a buccaneer……WRONG! 🙂

  11. Buccfan37 Says:

That spittle probably pales in comparison to the amount of fluid shed by Seahawk fans fans despondent over a loss to the Bucs.

  12. 813bucboi Says:

    keep them spitting Hawley!!!!!…GO BUCS!!!

  13. BoJim Says:

I remember Bill Romanowski always spitting in someones face. But he was a crazy fuxk so he always got away with it.

Love the Seinfeld reference Joe…or is it Mr. Steinfeld?

  15. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Reed was talking sideways today about the bucs during an interview. Talking smack about Hawley, calling him a 14 year old girl and that he was just mad that he couldn’t block a rookie. How Manny sacks did he have? The answer in NONE LOL

  16. America's Commenter Says:

    Classless in Seattle…

  17. Doctor Stroud Says:

I saw Reed’s comments today, and it reminds me of what divas the Seahawks players are. Sherman and Carroll were having intense conversations with the officials well into the 3rd quarter about the 1st quarter TD by ME13. They just can’t let anything go. The Bucs won…move on!
