Is The End Near For JoeBucsFan.com?

December 14th, 2016

joe characterThis post should only be of interest to Joe’s hardcore readers.

Yes, there is massive division at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters, a divide that could end JoeBucsFan.com.

Regulars here know there are two “Joes” who type up all the action, fun, news and commentary. And philosophically, the Joe’s have been on the same page since 2008. That’s why the site works!

However, one Joe completely tossed the common conditioned-to-losing mentality after the Bucs won in San Diego. Corner turned. Old Bucs gone. New Bucs in.

But the other Joe wrote this post earlier this morning, stating a lingering devotion to that when-will-the-Bucs-choke mentality.

Both points of view are valid and understandable, but it’s a divide that, barring an eventual unification of spirit, will end JoeBucsFan.com as we know it.

Don’t worry. It’s ok. Breathe easy. Keep your chin up.

If that divide isn’t resolved, then the Joes do have a very exciting Plan B ready to go.

    WTF! NO NO NO!

  2. ClodHopper Says:

I’m sure whatever happens, it will be a huge success. You guys have made tons of smart business decisions through the years I’ve been reading, especially lately. It’s been gold!!

  3. Ray Rice Says:

Tell that MF his playa pass just got revoked.

  4. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

idk but this doesnt seem like it should be massive division.

So what that 1 Joe buys in for good reason and so what that 1 Joe has been brainwashed to believe the Bucs will crumble.

Sh!t I am already fully on both sides.

    Call it Schrodingers Bucs.

  5. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

As a long suffering bucs fan how can you not brace yourself for the worst while hoping for the P word, the saints dropped 2 TDs sunday, that would have led toa bucs L, but those are the games in the past that the bucs lose and drew brees goes 95 yards and puts up a W on the bucs, so maybe the bucs turned the corner. 100% change in philosophy would be in Dallas in primetime to the entire nation and erase that debacle in the ATL with Lovie in front of the big lites

  6. zwak Says:

Don’t F*@K up a good thing Joe, stay positive and get over your internal BS…

  7. LargoBuc Says:

Are you serious?!?! F that. BucsNation is OKAY but kinda bland compared to here, or even other teams’ SB sites.

  8. Lord Corn Says:

If we win out will the negative Joe turn ?

And if we lose out will the positive Joe turn?

I just don’t get it lol. Your level of optimism or pessimism doesn’t have to be a huge influence if you’re just reporting what you see objectively each week – which is what I personally would hope is the case
Yes, Joe reports nearly everything, but regulars here know this is an opinion-driven website. –Joe

very exciting Plan B ready to go.

    Battle Royal? Sweet!!!

Here’s the deal. In NYC Giant fans are like fml, we ain’t win enough games, we got no run game, Eli keeps throwing picks and jpp is out. Not looking good for playoffs.

Meanwhile in Tampa fans are like woo hoo 8 wins season SB here we come.

Truth is we ain’t won chit yet. We need to keep our heads down, focus and keep grinding. The offense needs to connect this week. We need a 100y rusher (when is the last time we did that?). We need a 200y 3 TD game from Evans, a 5 TD game from Jameis and possibly a 53y FG for a win. Moreover, our run defense and goalline def needs to improve dramatically unless you want Zeke to go straight into the HOF immediately after the game.

We got a lot of work to do, we ain’t won chit yet. #FocusMan

As a regular reader and occasional commenter since 2010, I implore you both to get off the sauce and keep JBF HQ afloat.

  11. D-Rome Says:

If this is meant to be a joke this isn’t funny at all. As a regular reader since late 2009 I would be very disappointed if one of you left or the site was rebranded as something silly like “The Lee & Steve Buccaneers Bonanza”

  12. Dave Says:

It’s simple- send the negative Joe packing to create his own site and all the pseudo Buc fans that consistently trash McCoy and Licht, and anyone else in their crosshairs, can go with him.

    (Just a joke)

  13. NashvilleBuc Says:

TWO master-click-baiters. They’re not going anywhere.

  14. BuccaneEric75 Says:

This division doesn’t seem like a big deal to me. Options about this team vary from game to game.

  15. Mojiska Says:

Have optimistic views and pessimistic views.

  16. d-money Says:

I feel this is one of those stunts like when Mike & Ike or left Twix and right Twix broke up.

  17. Buc Neckid Says:

Couldn’t One Joe Just Move over to Pewter Report

  18. Trevor Says:

long time Bucs fans know that somehow the refs will screw us out of any success. Sometime long ago, the story goes, a group of NFL refs were swindled, hosed down, and kicked out of Mons venus without a single lap dance. Their vow of revenge is an oath for all NFL referees. Tampa not only has to beat the opposing team each week, but also the refs. Video replay has helped us in this fight, but phantom holding calls will persist. That’s why winning the superbowl was so special for us long time fans, we beat the refs too. the refs can only sway the game so much, and a 21 point lead and multiple pick-6’s left them without an opportunity to hand the trophy to the Raiders. The coaches’ message to the players has to be “don’t leave it in the referee’s hands, make the play !”

  19. Maze Says:

Don’t let that Loser Lovie mentality get to ya pessimistic Joe. #TheWinstonKoetterConnection is here to stay my friend

  20. Vincente Says:

    Not ok bro.

  21. Mort Says:

It’ll just be that Steve and Lee embrace their positive / negative differences in a more official capacity, which I think is just fine and a bit overdue tbh.

  22. IndyBucsFan Says:

So you guys are planning something new? The fact that you have disagreed on many things and have kept together tells me that you guys have something up your sleeves. There’s no way in hell that you guys are going to split during the bucs best season in a decade. Fun title though.

  23. softastissueMcCoy93 Says:

Remember the Pessimists and Optimist articles? Tampa2 Tampa2.1 Bring back the old JBF days!! LOL Hell Knaw we are winning!!!

  24. Juju Says:

  25. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    JOE IS DEAD!!!

    LONG LIVE JOE!!!

  26. DWE Says:

Regular reader since jbf’s first year and expect to be for many more years. I just love reading all things Bucs and have been a fan since 1976! I try to stay optimistic for each game by thinking of each single game as a season of its own. Then if we put together a bunch of WINS it just that much sweeter. Stay the course Joes, we need you!

  27. Bucdup08 Says:

@JOE I’m ready to fill in and help if needed! OFF with the old Joe and in with the new. Let’s Go BUCS!! 1-0 this week… Carry that BIG STICK into BIG D!!! My parent’s will be there screaming their brains out!!

  28. Joe Says:

If we win out will the negative Joe turn

Not “negative,” but jaded. Huge difference.

“Negative” Joe has already written if the Bucs beat Dallas, he will bury his Sabby the Goat and Myron Lewis jerseys. It will be symbolic of the death of the “same ol’ Bucs.”

  29. Bucdup08 Says:

OMG….DON”T speak those names around here LOL…Sabby the GOAT!

  30. Kobe Faker Says:

This is exactly what happens when Jenna Laine gets in between 2 friends

“Women weaken legs” Mickey from Rocky

  31. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

^^^^^^ Besides, even if one Joe says he’s leaving, it doesn’t mean he actually sticks to his word.

  32. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I have to say, I understand the other Joe’s point.

The Bucs were certainly the benefit of calls and such. And they DID do things to lose, but ended up coming out on top. This is why I’m not 100% sold that things have changed as much as people think.

  33. SoDakBucsFan Says:

Better not it’s the only site I go to for BUCS stuff. That would suck.

  34. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Joe Says
“Not “negative,” but jaded. Huge difference.

“Negative” Joe has already written if the Bucs beat Dallas, he will bury his Sabby the Goat and Myron Lewis jerseys. It will be symbolic of the death of the “same ol’ Bucs.”

I swear that even though I said the same thing yesterday, I’m not the other Joe, lol.

  35. No_Bucs_Given Says:

I was literally starting to say to myself yesterday that a change is necessary. With the podcast as of late, learning your personalities we’re already able to start figuring out who writes what and this not one Joe

  36. John Says:

No keep it going!! This is my favorite website, first thing I open when I wake up and drink my coffee with! Hoping to meet you Sunday night Joe, I’ll be at Abe’s cheering on the Bucs.

  37. 813bucboi Says:

damn…..even I was very critical of the bucs and the staff but if you cant get behind them now, you never will…..

cut the BS joe!!!!we need the both of you….GO BUCS!!!!

  38. Miko Says:

Just boot the negative arse, lol…arrow pointing straight up for Bucs regardless of 2016

  39. Pit Says:

Is this a way to say that you guys want to sell your business ?

  40. Lord Cornelius Says:

“If we win out will the negative Joe turn

Not “negative,” but jaded. Huge difference.

“Negative” Joe has already written if the Bucs beat Dallas, he will bury his Sabby the Goat and Myron Lewis jerseys. It will be symbolic of the death of the “same ol’ Bucs.””

Thanks for the responses and clarification. And I know you guys write opinion based articles… using the word “objective” probably wasn’t appropriate.

I listen to you guys’ podcast on the way to work so I know Steve is the turned leaf towards optimism / belief / confidence in the team. It kind of makes it easier for me to guess which Joe is writing which articles.

You guys ever think this difference in philosophical outlook of the team could be something you embrace? Maybe just sign each article as Dark Joe or Light Joe.

It’ll all be mute when we beat the Cowboys and Dark Joe joins the good side anyway 😉

  41. unbelievable Says:

Did the joes just need some positive praise this morning? Maybe a compliment?

Don’t be stupid. You guys have a great thing going here, even with your poor views on politics and quarterbacks 😂

  42. Buccfan37 Says:

I noticed on the last Ira aand Joes podcast that Lee’s voice was the loudest, unlike normally he was the least audible voice. The Bucs have the chance to beat America’s team twice in a row, never happened before. Can they pull it off? I’m skeptical. Surprise me Bucs!

  43. Tampa Tony Says:

    Easy solution

    Credit who writes which articles/post

Do a debate/counter point of view podcast between the Joes

  44. Pickgrin Says:

Whether we go 1-2 or 3-0 down the stretch – the arrow is obviously pointing up for this franchise.

Based on the last 5 games – Optimistic Joe has every right to be wildly hopeful that the Bucs can finish this season strong and earn our 1st playoff birth in 9 years.

Based on the last 7 years – the Jaded Joe has every right to brace himself for an end of season collapse that ends the promise and hope of playoffs based on letdown after letdown (since the day Chucky was fired) every time this franchise has displayed a glimmer of hope….

    Both viewpoints are valid.

I personally am vacillating back and forth between the two outlooks for the rest of this season at this point. But with each consecutive win, I become more convinced that this turnaround is real and relatively permanent.

I do believe that regardless of where this 2016 team’s fortunes wind up, that the next few years and perhaps even the next decade are going to be one hell of great ride for those who love and cheer for our Buccaneers.

  45. Bucsfanman Says:

This is classic “good cop,” “bad cop”!!!
Come on, you guys don’t really think they’re going to part ways, do ya?! You can’t have an interesting anything without divergent viewpoints! Heck, how long have we endured DallasBuc’s Licht issues or tmaxcon’s love of GMC and Realist’s fascination with sheep?! We ALL have issues! BigHog can’t let go of Lovie and who the heck names themselves “Lord”?!!
I’m not worried. The “conflict” will keep things lively, like the posters.
Joes, it’s obvious that there are many, many fans who enjoy your site. We are confident that you’ll do what’s right. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK Joebucsfan.com!!!!!

  46. Xandtar Says:

I like the varying opinions and not caring which Joe is which or what is either Joe’s real name. I would venture a guess and its only that, that the addition of Ira to the partnership changed the dynamic and the current be-an-optimist-or-be-a-pessimist difference of opinion is just a public face on a private breakup, it happens in business as in personal life all the time.

Of course I’d prefer that this place stay as it is, but we’ll all adjust if it breaks up, we always have before.

  47. Back up kicker Says:

Dump Den of Depression while you are at it. Sunday was not depressing, corner has been turned. Time to stop hedging bets and BELIEVE!!

  48. Patrick in VA Says:

Obviously, we don’t know what plan B is, so I think all the hand wringing is a little premature. Also, these guys have been following this format for something like 7 years now. It’s not unbelievable that they’d jump at a reason to shake things up a bit, so the fact that this seemingly trivial issue is the catalyst for it isn’t all that surprising.

I like the stories, I like the access, I like the relationships that the Joes have in the community. If we’re following typical breakup rules and choosing sides, I’m going with the one that won’t be sticking with 620.

  49. Patrick in VA Says:

Whatever the chances are that are coming, there’s no way that this will be as nightmarish as the “Read more” button fiasco.

  50. Patrick in VA Says:

    *changes

  51. orlbucfan Says:

No comment from the peanut gallery. 🙂

  52. rayjay1122 Says:

This is absolutely childish news. This is a very successful site with loyal readers who immensely enjoy reading all of the articles. First let me say thank you to all of the individuals who dedicate so much of their time and energy into keeping this site full of material. This is in my opinion the best site for us Bucs fans to read news and share our thoughts. Just as much as us readers have differing personalities and opinions, I realize that is most likely the case at JBF headquarters but please just respect one another’s opinions and just peacefully agree to disagree on certain things. Diversity in thoughts, opinions, likes and dislikes is what keeps our lives and interactions interesting. Imagine how boring it would be if everyone thought exactly the same about things. Pull yourselves together, grab a couple huge mother fing sticks and keep up the great work on this site…..or go out back and settle your differences with the aforementioned sticks. Just do not pull the plug on us!!!

  53. Rolph Says:

    Db55,
All that is nice but do you know anything bout situational football. And we beat dallas last year. Elliott is the one reason they’ve been winning. With our run stopping it will be a competitive game with a low score despite how much you want them to light it up.

  54. Tarzan Says:

Good!!!!!!!!!! Your blog sucks and u post way 2 much.

  55. Matt B Says:

Yeah, I’m in the camp where I’m still skeptical about this team. Fan since 1979 so I’ve seen this team choke way too many times. I’m good with being skeptical because that way I’m not surprised when they fail or I’m ecstatic when they shock me and prove me wrong. No high expectations means a cushioned letdown.

  56. mike Says:

Say it ain’t so Joe! A joe divided against himself can not stand!

  57. grafikdetail Says:

i’m sick of the debbie downers!! they expect the team to be mentally tough and not be weak or expect the worst but these same fake fans are soft & mentally weak themselves too scared to be let down again… go root for another team then!! we don’t need your bad karma around here…

  58. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

Hell to the Naw! This team is for real led by our strong leadership of Winston. With a great captain at the helm of the ship ain’t nothing going to slow us down. Keep the faith Bucs fans for it’s a new day in Tampa Bay! Go Bucs!

  59. Deminion Says:

No! so bucs playing good ball ends the best website for football? guess one of the joe’s are ok with a losing mentality while one is a diehard. Bucs success

  60. Dlavid Says:

Don’t play with us like this “JOE” ! Your post and Ira’s podcast are mandatory consumption in my household !!!

  61. Deputy Buc Says:

Soooo is Steve going to be “Joe” and Lee going to be the new “Jane” or vice versa?!

  62. Erik w/ Clean Athletics 'The Kwon Alexander of Bucs Fans' Says:

Make a deal that: if we actually make the playoffs, the pessimistic Joe has to become an optimist.

Otherwise, the mixed messages might get confusing.

    *Or

Start attributing articles to authors, so we know what mentality the info is coming from.

And then I’ll honestly skip the pessimistic Joe’s articles.

  63. Erik w/ Clean Athletics 'The Kwon Alexander of Bucs Fans' Says:

Sounds like there’s a needed Culture Change at Joebucsfan.com headquarters…

  64. SB with Jameis Says:

If you guys start another website I want my original Username back!!!!!

  65. WestCoastBucsFan Says:

You guys are considering splitting because you disagree on something? I am guessing there something more to it than just one Joe being “jaded”. If that really is all it is then it would be silly to split. Both of you guys make this site tick (Ira too) and it likely fails without both of you.

Hopefully a win at Dallas cures all.

  66. Lord Cornelius Says:

“who the heck names themselves “Lord”?!!”

Hahaha I always wonder what people think

If you’re truly curious – back during high school when I played counter strike I used the name “Lord Cornelius of the Luther Family” because it just sounded ridiculous. One weekend at some parties I was pretending to be this character and talking down to everyone and carrying a staff around like a drunken freak. In college (go noles) I dressed up as Lord Cornelius and carried a shower curtain rod around to Pot Bellies and other Tally bars. When people asked me who I was I’d go into a big speech about who Lord Cornelius was. Just being an idiot basically. My friends all still call me “lord” – just a nickname I’ve embraced lol

  67. Eric Says:

    I have a solution!!!

Let’s just get rid of Kobe Faker.

    Problem solved!

  68. Matthew R Herrington Says:

Seems like a stupid reason to me

  69. Bucsfanman Says:

LOL! Thanks for that Lord! That’s some funny stuff. I always pictured you as this dude who spoke like Thurston Howell from Gilligan’s Island anyway!!!!

  70. unbelievable Says:

    LOL @ Patrick in VA

I remember the “read more” button fiasco as well!

    ‘Member????

  71. Warren Says:

Put your individual names to your articles, or come up with two different Joe-related pseudonyms. Then you can each stand by your opinions without losing the flavor of the site

  72. unbelievable Says:

Joe, is this because of how harsh I’ve been with you regarding your refusal to put any blame on the o-line or play calling for the running game woes? I didn’t want you to go away, I was just pointing out the facts…

    Say it ain’t so, Joe.

  73. Dreambig Says:

This is silly talk. Neither Joe is yet right or wrong. We have won 8 games. Period. We have not made the playoffs, nor do we have a losing team for once.
I am personally still skeptical that we will make the playoffs simply because I don’t think we have any slack. We either win out our someone takes our spot. But that is a long way from same old Bucs. They are already better than they have been for a number of years.

  74. Tom Edrington Says:

Do we blame Yoko Ono for breaking up The Joes?

    signed

    Paul McCartney

  75. COREYATX Says:

Besides in-depth, constant analysis of all things Bucs, the yin and yang of the Joes and the readers/posters is what makes this site great. Like many others here, I wake up and go to bed checking this site with many visits throughout the day. Please, I beg of you both, keep JBF the best Bucs site on the Internet.

  76. Lev Says:

This is the best Bucs website PERIOD. It better not be the end!!!!! WE WON”T LET IT! MAKE JOEBUCSFAN GREAT AGAIN!!!!

  77. Warthog Says:

If one of you came out as trans then you could just spin off into two sites – joebucsfan and flobucsfan

  78. feelthepewterpower Says:

Keep the fake news coming, Joe lol

  79. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Awesome story, my Lord! I will bring you the finest meats and cheeses in all the land!

  80. wesley Says:

    How about having thicker skin.

  81. salish_seamonster Says:

I try to remain level headed and realistic whether they’re up or down. That being the case, I’m not ready to say the same old Bucs are dead quite yet. I have to see us win 2 of the remaining 3 to be there. Beating Dallas would be a huge boost. I’m beginning to be a believer, but I still don’t know if I can bear to watch. I’m still jaded, beaten down. Finish strong and I’ll believe.

  82. Tom S. Says:

I think the bigger shock is how two people could come to agree that Mark Dominik was something other than the worst GM in modern Bucs history without a ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ amount of drugs and alcohol.

Are the Joe’s still praising that ‘signature’ move of Dom’s to give up the farm for Darelle ‘glue factory’ Revis? Kind of funny how all of big-name the FREE AGENT corners such as Brent Grimes, Aquib Talib, Sean Smith and DRC have fared better with significantly less money and assets to acquire them.

  83. Tampa2ali Says:

    This is not good

  84. ARGH_M8E Says:

2 joes? It’s like the Ultimate Warrior all over again! What the hell is going on out there?! Tmz – Jameis settlement now I read this✌️🤐 Goodnight. Next you’ll tell me we signed Michael Floyd. I’m buggn. Just beat Dallas and keep up the good work guys. Now hug.

  85. SCBucsFan Says:

Surely this is just a publicity stunt or something. That’s a really petty reason for such an enduring partnership to come to an end.

  86. Bucco bruce Says:

where in the f*** would I get all my Buccaneers news. The only good place I know. I’m sure one of you would start another site.T tampaaaaaaaa

  87. DM Says:

    MAN UP!

  88. lightningbuc Says:

    This is all schtick!
