Will Rookie Caleb Benenoch Start?

Bad melon

The Buccaneers’ offensive line depth seems poised for serious test Sunday.

Starting left guard Kevin Pamphile was declared out with a concussion. Starting center Joe Hawley has multiple medical issues. (He was writhing in pain on the field against the Falcons.) And backup guard center Evans Smith can’t play two positions at once.

Dirk Koetter confirmed this week that the Bucs would turn to rookie fifth-round pick Caleb Benenoch at guard if necessary.

What scared Joe was Koetter saying Benenoch was on the same developmental “trajectory” as Pamphile was. That flashed Joe back to Pamphile’s rookie season of 2014. Pamphile played a little that season and earned the “milk carton” nickname from Joe. Why? Because he was invisible.

Regardless, Joe’s heard good things behind the scenes about Benenoch, who played a lot of snaps at UCLA during his career.

However, the Bears’ 12th-ranked defense is just a little better than what’s seen in the Pac-12.

I guess we dont have Pamphile but i have confidence in Caleb i really do been waiting to see what he has. I think Sweezy may get cut after this game so he and Evan Smith should. I hate to see Evan Smith play hes not great unless we run terrible pass blocker.

I’ve decided I don’t care about hearing good things behind the scenes anymore. I feel like we’ve been hearing good things behind the scenes for years and we’re quickly on our way to 6 straight years in the basement

    KOBE IS SCARED!

I think this game, koetter the clown is going to finally injure jameis winston

Going to be nonstop jail break of our porous line and jameis is going to be smacked around

Koetter again will run 1st and 2nd down with no yardage. Koetter is going to design time consuming deep routes to me13 in double coverage on 3rd and long. No other reciever can beat man coverage and 3 and outs all day long. 5 sacks and jameis will be out with injury

The chicago bear gods will revenge lovies firing

The tampa bay buc franchise will be at their lowest point in their last 50 years

40 games till jameis free agency

Sweezy was such a waste. Knew it at the time.

  8. Jimmy T Says:

Another Jason Licht wasted free agent to go along with pitiful drafts. Seriously anyone would take Jameis and Mike Evans, good job drafting KWON but other than that licht has not done a good job. Ali Marpet better play since they moved back in the 2nd round to get him. Chris Landry said Marpet would ha e been available later in draft. I still don’t get the Sweezy signing

This game is shaping up worse and worse for the Bucs.

  16. Dooshlarue Says:

Oh good, so we shouldn’t win this game.
I like it when all of you experts say that.
It usually goes the other way.

    Go Bucs!

A rookie with his first start at mid season…now, that’s a winning combination. I hope #3 survives and that the running game goes to the other side of the line. Bears 24-Bucs 10 with at least one Bears defensive touchdown. The Bucs will finish the season 3-13 or 4-12
