“We’ll Have To Think Up Some New Goals”

November 28th, 2016

KoetterCamp1Dirk Koetter has no interest in even whispering the “P-word.”

But he might have to.

Get your mind out of the sewer or the presidential campaign, the P-word represents playoffs.

Joe asked Koetter last week if while he personally wasn’t talking anything related to the playoffs, was the team buzzing about postseason opportunity. Koetter shut Joe down faster than you can say ASJ.

Last night on the happy Buccaneers Radio Network, Koetter acknowledged after the throttling of the Seahawks that the team was heavily focused on winning three in a row, which it did.

“We’ll have to think up some new goals,” Koetter said of his coaching staff’s many tasks heading to face the Chargers in San Diego next week.

In many ways, it was a telling quip from Koetter. The Bucs are entering very new territory under a first-year head coach and a 22-year-old franchise quarterback. And the cornerstone defensive players have lost for years.

Part of the culture change Koetter has talked about — and accomplished — is knowing how to handle late-season success and stay focused.

That was a hurdle that proved too much for the 2015 Bucs, when they moved to 6-6 and never won again.

Eaxctly Joe, Bucs Fans don’t get to hype on this Playoffs situation, we have to ontinue to play, like we are doing and we will see at the end of the season if we will be in playoffs or not.

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo was hoping the “P” word stood for Pablo. Although Pablo doesn’t know coach K, Pablo ranks him his third favorite coach behind Tom Flores & Ron Rivera”

Great Game, Great Win, I don’t care if Carroll does think it was a fluke, he and his team got their a$$ kicked yesterday on both sides of the ball. I agree, Tuesday we move on San Diego. One game at a time, no P word distractions thats for the talking heads. Going forward We don’t play an easy game, records mean nothing in December. So strap em on fans and let’s root our team on. Go Buc’s

Gotta take it week to week and let the playoffs work themselves out. If we beat the Chargers, we’re coming home to play the ‘Aints seeking a FIFTH straight win. That would be freakin huge.

  5. Max Says:

no way we win next week, have to travel across the country

    STFU Max.

We don’t need this kind of negativity today.

Bucs gonna run the table baby. WATCH and SEE.
Mark my words, the Falcons will falter down the line like they always do and the division will be Ours. From worse to first baby. We aiming for that first round bye. We will be the fist team since week 1 to knock the cowboys off their pedestal. We will make Prescott look like Cody Kesslar on bad day.

The goal setting sounds like a page out of Mike Smith’s book. Love that philosophy.

  9. BucDaddy82 Says:

BUCS will not lose again this year. What happened yesterday was the awakening of the NEW BUCS. GO BUCS!!

  10. Guzzie Says:

Happens every year, or close to it, last place comes up and gets 1st, unfortunately Cowboys are doing this year, instead of “Siege the Day”, our team motto should “Why not Us”

Isn’t it amazing how different life is with a pass rush?

    Stay focused. Stay humble.

The goal should be San Diego, nothing more. Gotta shut down Rivers, Gordon and Inman.
