NFL Suspends Hey Jude Adjei-Barimah

November 22nd, 2016

jude-adjei-barimah

Joe’s head is shaking at JoeBucsFan.com world headquarters.

Per the Twittering of Tampa Bay Times beat man Rick Stroud, nickel cornerback Hey Jude Adjei-Barimah has been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s performing enhancing drugs policy.

This stinks.

Hey Jude is the Bucs’ No. 3 corner, their nickel who has been playing well.

Now the Bucs will turn to special teams ace Josh Robinson or Alterraun Verner to play inside. Or, perhaps they relocate Vernon Hargreaves, who played nickel through preseason and a little in September. But Joe highly doubts the Bucs mess with Hargreaves.

Brent Grimes is nursing a thigh bruise that caused him to miss nearly all of Sunday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Hey Jude is a loss, not a crushing loss, but a loss — at the worst possible time.

Joe just hopes Adjei-Barimah doesn’t give the wacky energy drink excuse. Bucs players should have learned that lesson in 2015, when Kwon Alexander missed four games because of a bad drink (allegedly).

My favorite Hey Jude moment….away from the play holding on 4th & goal giving Raiders new life and ultimately the victory…not to mention another quarter of historical passing yardage for Derek Carr. Don’t bother coming back…Banks doesn’t look so bad after all.

  6. LifeOfABucFan Says:

I’m still steaming over the fact he gave the Raiders that win..and he knows better!!!! Didn’t he learn anything from Kwon? Didn’t he see the guilt Kwon had on letting his team down!!!??? WTF!!!!!!! Four games???? WTF!!!!

Can someone PLEASE explain how do hey get caught?? Is it a random test? Do they get a phone call?? How does it work!?

  7. salish_seamonster Says:

How do these guys imagine they’ll get away with it? Is it worth the risk to your team? Dumb.

  8. BuccaneEric75 Says:

    Damn.

  9. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Good news is , we won’t have to pay him as much this offseason now.

  10. Mike Johnson Says:

To hell with it Jude. Just go on over to Easy (money) Sweezy’s crib and smoke a few bowls!!! NAH na na nanana Nah…. Na na na NAh .Hey jude!!

  11. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

I think 90% of the cases are really about not knowing whats going into your body. I can’t fathom that these guys take that stuff knowing they WILL be caught

  12. BuccaneEric75 Says:

salish, is your screen name taken from the feet that wash ashore at the Salish sea area in the north west?

  13. Clodhopper Says:

After last year with Kwon, at this time of year should we just start assuming whoever is playing surprisingly good during the season is going to end the season with a four game suspension?

  14. Kobe Faker Says:

IM SORRY, but i have to post this

    @defense rules

Dont you have any shame? Taking my material when i cant protect myself. My attorneys will be contacting you ASAP

This will be my last and final post

  15. 813bucboi Says:

    @bird…your right…when I seen him in TC I said damn, he’s really been working hard….next man up…no excuses…GO BUCS!!!!

  16. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Stupid is as stupid does.

I really don’t know why the NFL waits until the most important part of a season to hand out suspensions. Seems like their way of rigging the season…not that this guy would cost us anything, but suspending Kwon sure did.

  17. unbelievable Says:

    @bonzai-
It’s cuz they hate the Bucs. Other team’s guys would have been suspended at the beginning of the season. Not us. We get to .500 and BAM! Suspension just waiting to get served.

LOL. At least that’s my “the NFL hates the Bucs” conspiracy theory.

Will be interesting to find out WHEN he failed the test. If it was during preseason / OTAs, then we will know for sure….

  18. JimBo Says:

There simply is no shortage of ‘stupidity’ in the NFL. I have no sympathy, whatsoever…

  19. Mojiska Says:

Didn’t Cowboys linebacker just get popped for a 4 game suspension too? And this was roughly the same time Kwon got the boot. Seems like this is their new system. Maybe they are using it as an extra incentive to not get caught. Not all 4 games suspensions are equal, losing December is much worse than losing september. More injuries, more important games

  20. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Maybe enforcing the suspension at the end of the season is an added deterrent to stop players from juicing? I don’t know.

Good news is , we won’t have to pay him as much this offseason now.

He’s a second year pro. We weren’t going to have to pay him much anyway. If he’s even a free agent, he’s a restricted free agent, which means he has no leverage.

  22. Defense Rules Says:

@Kobe Faker … “This will be my last and final post.” We’ve all heard that song before Kobe.

  23. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Damn guys it is pretty simple. He isn’t good and needed to use some PEDs to try and compete at this level. It isn’t an easy decision for someone like him. Don’t use and start your career driving a UPS truck, or use and maybe just maybe get some NFL paychecks.

  24. Kevin Says:

This is where I would have liked to see Banks get a shot with some man coverage. But we got a 7th for him so itll be all good!

  25. BucThis Says:

    ^^^What TouchDownTampaBay said!!!^^^

  26. teacherman777 Says:

    Yes!!

@Kobe Faker is leaving!! And never returning! Great news!!

And “my last and final post” is redundant you idiot!!

Just like all your negative comments. DUMB!!

I hope @Kobe Faker never posts here again!!

  27. Warthog Says:

    HEY JUDE
    DONT MAKE IT BAAAAD
    TAKE A SAD SONG
AND INJECT SOME TESTOSTERONE INTO IT

JUST REMEMBER TO P*SS INTO THE WRONG JAR
    AND THEN YOU CAN START
    TO MAKE IT BETTER

  28. Warthog Says:

(fyi dont be mad at jude for violating the PED policy…. 99% of NFL players take PEDs. its just the occasional unlucky ones that get caught)

  29. BigMacAttack Says:

This is such a stupid rule. Stop testing them. These players’ bodies take such a beating that they should be able to use all medical advancements to strengthen and heal themselves. They know the benefits and consequences and it’s their body, so leave them alone. So stupid.

  30. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Yeah BigMac, lets let them get roided up so that can hit even harder and cause more harm to one another then would otherwise be humanly possible. Think about what you just said. It is not a stupid rule at all. On top of that Jude is cheating and probably keeping a more talented player who wont cheat from being in the NFL.

  31. cmurda Says:

@BigMac. I somewhat agree but these PED’s could be contributing to breaking down these guys bodies. Many of the PED’s are new and I doubt there is all that much knowledge about what they will do to people years from now. It’s risky and while I only marginally blame the players, the NFL certainly can’t condone it.

  32. Buc1987 Says:

I think these players should consult….

  33. BigMacAttack Says:

TDTB I thought about it. The size disparity is so great anyway that having a little more muscle won’t change things much. It can help injuries and joints heal too. I spend a lot of time in the gym with guys that train hard and know the benefits of certain PEDS. So much of it is myth and fear of what isn’t known or fully understood. I don’t disagree with banning certain steroids but there are many that offer fantastic benefits. If they weren’t there and didn’t help, guys wouldn’t be using them. BTW Do you even lift bro. Haha jk

  34. ZZBucs!!! Says:

Some of this kids are so inmature….they just don’t get it!!!!! Another miss oportunity……..Another lost talent next to work on Foot locker…UNreal

  35. gilhealy Says:

I wonder how long the players knew this was coming? Lovie knew about Kwon last season prior to his suspension. I don’t know if it would help knowing or not. Either way, next man up. Could be Elliot, and Robinson get the snaps. Let’s see what you got fella’s. And Kobe, stick around. 90% of the posters here are negative nancy’s. Don’t let them sway your groove. I don’t agree with a lot of your takes, but who cares. I don’t agree with the other 90% either. It’s such a brow beaten fan base they can’t get themselves to believe good things can happen. Keep posting, man. Your stuff is pretty funny.

  36. America's Commenter Says:

I was pretty hard on Kwon Alexander because of his mysterious energy drink defense and I was very curious about how he would perform in 2016 while he’s subject to more frequent testing.

While it’s really tough to compare statistics because the defensive style is much different and he entered the 2016 season with 12 games of experience, I have to admit he’s still playing very well and may even be the best Buccaneer on that side of the ball. Maybe it really was a mysterious energy drink?

    2015 (12 Games Played) 59 Tackes, 34 Assists, 3 Sacks, 9 Passes Defended, 2 INT, 2 Forced Fumbles, 1 Fumble Recovery

    2016 (10 Games Played) 71 Tackles, 13 Assists, 2 Sacks, 3 Passes Defended, 1 INT (TD), 0 Forced Fumbles, 1 Fumble Recovery

Please accept my humble apologies, Mr. Alexander.
