Gameday Tampa Bay!

October 2nd, 2016

Game 4

Broncos at Bucs

Kickoff: 4:05 p.m.

TV: Locally, WTSP-TV Channel 10; DirecTV Channel 712.

Radio: Buccaneers Radio Network (WDAE-AM 620 and WFUS-FM 103.5 in Tampa-St.Petersburg region); SiriusXM Channel 134.

Weather: Memo to the pansies and the whiners who constantly cry for fall weather and enjoy wearing jeans, sweaters and jackets. Joe has a four-letter word for you: Ohio. Joe loves Florida fall, also known as summer. Another 90 degree football Sunday on tap. That’s what it is expected for tailgating, per AccuWeather.com. Great beer-drinking weather. At kickoff, it should be 87 degrees with thunderstorms. After the first quarter, the rain should subside but it will be clouds will linger. Fourth-quarter temperatures are expected to be 84 with thunderstorms possible.

Odds: Per FootballLocks.com, Broncos -3.

Outlook: Time is running out on the Bucs for 2016. They need a win, and soon, if the playoffs are even a dream. Since 1990, only 21 teams have made the playoffs after starting 1-3, in other words 16 percent chance of making the playoffs after a 1-3 start. To make this game even more serious, no team since the 2008 Vikings has made the playoffs after starting 1-3. Problem is, the Bucs are facing the Super Bowl champs and the Bucs are not at full strength. Yes, Doug Martin’s injury has really put the Bucs in a pinch. They have yet to prove they can run effectively without him. So if the Bucs go to the pass, it feeds right into the hands of the Broncos, which has a ferocious pass rush, maybe the best secondary in the NFL. That does not bode well for the Bucs in any way. If the Bucs have no ground game, or fall behind, and have no choice but to put the ball in the air, then Joe fears America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston. We could be looking at three turnovers and an alley-beating much like what the Steelers did to the Bucs in 2010, when the Bucs were undefeated and got seal-clubbed by the Men of Steel at the Den of Depression. Joe feared last week’s game against the Rams. Joe is petrified of today’s game.

Trinkets: The Bucs are 17-40 in the Den of Depression since Chucky was fired. … The Broncos have a three-game winning streak over the Bucs. The last time the Bucs beat the Broncos was in 1999, when Tampa Bay held on for a 13-10 home win. … The Bucs are sixth in the NFL in passing yards per game (297). … Tampa Bay is 23rd in rushing offense averaging 86 yards a game. … The Broncos are second in the NFL in sacks (12). … The Broncos currently have the longest winning streak in the NFL, eight games (including playoffs) … Another streak: Denver has won its last 25 games in which it won the turnover battle. … Last week, WRs Mike Evans and Adam Humphries each had 100 yards receiving. It was the first time two Bucs receivers had 100 yards in the same game since Vincent Jackson and Louis Murphy each had 100 yards receiving at Chicago in 2014. … Jameis needs two touchdown passes to tie Brian Griese for eighth-most in team history (32). … WR Mike Evans set franchise history last week by catching a touchdown in each of the first three games to start a season. With a touchdown catch today, he will extend the record to four games.  … Broncos QB Trevor Siemian became the first signal-caller in NFL history last week to throw for 300 yards passing and four touchdowns without a pick in his first NFL road start. … Denver WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders have each had 100 or more yards receiving in the same game six times since 2014, the most of any NFL wide receiver duo. … Broncos OLB Shane Ray had three sacks last week against Cincinnati in his first start, the first NFL player to record as many sacks in his first start since Jacksonville’s John Henderson in 2002. … Only two players in history recorded 70 career sacks faster than Denver OLB Von Miller. Only two who reached this milestone quicker are Reggie White and J.J. Watt.

  5. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The TV heads ticked me off today. No one picked us. I admit, I think we’ll lose this one too, as pretty much everyone else does.

But I’m ticked now. Take it to them Bucs!

  6. MadMax Says:

@Bonzai, If ever there was a time for an upset game this week, this is the one….sure would be nice to see us do it.

  7. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Yeah it would.

  8. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Jameis will throw three interceptions and get sacked four times today.

The Broncos will take our bucs out to the woodshed today.

After we get our asses beat today, I wonder how the bucs will respond next week?????

  9. SB with Jameis Says:

    UGH………..I’m already drinking.

  10. Chris Says:

Cmon Bucs, give me a reason to be optimistic. Panthers getting beat by Falcons, maybe the Falcons weren’t as bad as we thought

  11. Poor Glennon Says:

    I have Kessel envy.

  12. Poor Glennon Says:

    Sorry Kessler

  13. Chris Says:

Kessler does it look good, no deep shots to Pryor though

  14. University of Seffner Says:

At the stadium, there are over 50% of Broncos fans here.

  15. LakelandBuc Says:

Jameis and the Bucs are 7-12 since he was drafted. We are 3-0 against the Falcons and 4-12 against the rest of the teams. It’s time to rise up and play some lights out football. Today may be the day, the Bucs need to bring it today.

  16. Chris Says:

Ahhh , Sefner reminds me of the old Sombero days. Remember Montana visiting us. Half or more were San Fran fans. Didn’t think there was that may California transplants. We had the lead late fourth and the stadium magically turned into pro Bucs

  17. buccfan305 Says:

If there was ever a time that these young Bucs needed to flex thier muscles. …it’s NOW….not now but right Muthaf#@king NOW. No excuses. ..

    GO BUCS!!!!

    JC tree

    That made me lol. Ty.

I think our WR could learn a thing or too from these kids in Carolina. Talk about catching the ball and fighting for yards. Hump n shep the only ones doing that for us right now.

Sad to say but my man ME catches the ball in the middle then sits down like a qb. Kinda made me sick last week.

  21. DB55 Says:

The new NFL where you need 50 points to win

  22. HICKERBILLY Says:

    Career day for Julio Jones

  23. HICKERBILLY Says:

Well, at least we know that Carolina is VERY beatable. Just attack their young garbage corners

  24. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Falcons are beating the Panthers. That’s good news for us. We already know we can beat the Falcons. If the Panthers are falling (for whatever reason), we have hope. So I disagree with Joe.

In fact, even if we go 1-4 in the first 5 games, I believe we can still have a winning season and maybe even win the division the way things are shaping up.

  25. LifeOfABucFan Says:

I think the Carolina dominance ended today…the penalties killed their win today with Cam getting the first one for taunting..

No one picked the Bucs on NFL today but I do!!!

    So GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!!

  26. Chris Says:

    Cam, possible concussion

  27. HICKERBILLY Says:

    LET’S GO BOY!!!!! GAME TIME

  28. BuccoDav Says:

    Joe,
You got that right about the weather! You want 55 degrees and gray skies, move the the mid west.

  29. HICKERBILLY Says:

    Ohh lord, here we go.

  30. Chris Says:

    That was ugly

  31. Chris Says:

    And quick

  32. HICKERBILLY Says:

Pathetic. gonna be a long day, but hopefully we can answer back.

  33. DB55 Says:

We gotta em just where we want em. #fsu #ohwait

  34. Jbeachbuc Says:

Just another turnover machine. Talented kid tho.

  35. SOFIERCE Says:

Time to turn up! Go Bucs!!! Our Offense is capable of putting up points fast! Go down swinging if anything.

  36. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Woodshed

    Woodshed

    Woodshed

    Woodshed

  37. BigHogHaynes Says:

No comment: 12 games to go with 8 more games to win to show improvement over the last REGIME! Realist this new All/World/Staff is not what you make it out to be! ……..but you keep coaching the LOVIE out of them!!

  38. LongSeason Says:

Do the Bucs know that kick off was at 4:05 PM ET? Sure looks like they forgot. To me it appears they think they are still in warm ups. Problem with this team is there is no fire, no heart. Just a bunch of guys playing for money. They know they collect their paychecks win or lose. Another backup Quarterback looks like an All Pro against our defense. Glazers should just fold the franchise instead of fielding a team of bodies just to get fans in the stands.

  39. nick Says:

why is it we (no fun league) schedule 4 o’clock games in Tampa in late/early fall?

  40. LongSeason Says:

Time of day shouldn’t matter. If the only time we can play is 1 pm, then this is a poor excuse of a franchise. Fact it, this team can’t play. No heart. No fire. No will to win. Led by the two biggest losers of all. McCoy and David. They don’t know how to win.
