Can Bucs Make It Six In A Row?

LeSean McCoy, David Johnson, Ezekiel Elliot, Christine Michael and Fozzy Whitaker have something in common of interest to Bucs fans.

Each running back has rolled up 100 yards of rushing this season against San Francisco, the Bucs’ opponent on Sunday. In fact, since opening day, their efforts represent a five-game streak of doom for the 49ers’ defense.

That’s why all the talk out of the other Bay area this week is about stuffing the Bucs’ running game at all costs. The 49ers’ official website tried to explain the demise of the San Francisco defense.

Stopping the run will be easier said than done for a 49ers defense without starting inside linebackers NaVorro Bowman and Ray-Ray Armstrong. After bottling up Los Angeles Rams Pro Bowler Todd Gurley in Week 1, the unit has given up five-straight, 100-yard rushers while falling to 32nd in rush defense. The group allowed 312 rushing yards and four rushing scores in the team’s fifth consecutive defeat last week against the Buffalo Bills.

Joe is confident the Bucs will be pounding the rock. Reason 1, it should work. Reason 2, Dirk Koetter really needs to shorten the game for his banged up defense, especially with rookies like undrafted defensive ends Channing Ward and DaVonte Lambert getting extensive playing time.

they can’t play scared to lose, but the only way to lose this game is TURNOVERS…postive runs and safe passes…

  2. ITH Says:

Time to let Ali and OL do what they do best

  3. Kobe Faker Says:

I hope koetter mixes it up alittle and make the run be more efficient

Screens, draws and a few shepard reverses.

Play action and quick hits to brate to loosenup evens can blow this game up

I hope koetter doesnt freeze again and run the ball 9 straight times

I doubt we will be plus 4 in turnovers again. We still need to open the pass up which we should without slug vj

A phrase that will be said many times sinday after the game is…

Wow our offense and players seem faster

Kobe has posted and it shall be

I don’t care if we win 3-0…..we must win.

I think very heavy dose of Rodgers…..Humphries & Brate with a shot downfield now & then should get the job done.

And……put a LB on Kapernick….do not let him run!!!

  5. Chris Says:

Channing Tatum on the D line? I mean , he did look pretty decent in 22 Jump Street running pass patterns , but I didn’t think we sunk that low.

  6. pick6 Says:

if they are that worried about the run, we might be able to get great looks on playaction from the first snap

  7. Lunchbox Says:

Hey Joe, what is Noah Spence’s injury status? I can’t find anything recent about it.

  8. Bucsfanman Says:

    Lol Kobe!
The team that runs the ball most effectively wins this game. Hopefully, that will be the Bucs. Go get ’em Quizz!

  9. Lord Cornelius Says:

3 of those 5 backs are also some of the best in the league (McCoy / Johnson / Zeke) & Michael is a much greater talent than quiz – no offense to quiz tho

  10. Buccfan37 Says:

The Bucs must win this game! No excuses, no ifs ands or buts. Not winning will be a major bummer. I think the Bucs find a way to win. Go Bucs!

  11. PRBucFan Says:

    Reason 3

He needs to slow the game down for Winston and not put it in his hands passing so often, decreasing the chance of turnover.

  12. AtlBucFanDan Says:

As long as they can finish drives, we should be good.

  13. GhostofTedford Says:

Dirk Koetter and company has had almost 2 full weeks to prepare for this game, there is no acceptable excuse. Carolina’s front seven is superior to San Francisco’s and Jacquizz ran for over 100 yards. There is just no excuse to be unprepared without a solid game plan. I look for Rogers, Brate and Humphries to have big games.

  14. Mike Johnson Says:

Bucs have a chance to go 500 people. Come UP..from the cellar. Hope they show up. in San Fran. Actually we should be able to beat them without a couple of starters. That’s how bad SF sucks. They suck..worse than us!!
    Even stevens Bucs..lets win.

I still can’t quite get it why 49ers have declined so fast? They get new ownership or what?
