Broncos 27, Buccaneers 7 (weather delay with 6:52 remaining)

Aqib Talib had plenty to taunt America's Quarterback, Jameis Winston, about during this third-quarter exchange.

Aqib Talib had plenty to taunt America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, about during this third-quarter exchange.

Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes, spearheaded by America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, playing giveaway when he was supposed to be playing keepaway.

And don’t get Joe started on Charles Sims.

The Bucs will need Uber to get home after this one, given how many times they shot themselves in the foot. Throw six first-half pentalties into that cauldron of doom at the Den of Depression.

The No. 1 inexcusable failure today was the Bucs did look like the hungrier team, the one defending its home turf, the one with the season on the brink.

Why does this happen? Why are the Bucs seven minutes from being 3-15 in their last 18 home games?

That ugly history certainly isn’t all on this year’s squad, but they can’t escape. And after today’s mess and last week’s horror show to Case Keenum and the Rams, they’re definitely part of it.

To make matters worse, Gerald McCoy had a signifcant left calf injury and left the game in the second quarter. Noah Spence left the game, too, as did tight end Brandon Myers.

Joe supposes the only silver lining today is the Bucs are guaranteed second place in the NFC South with Carolina and the Saints mired at 1-3. Atlanta hammered the Panthers to sit themselves at 3-1 atop the division.

Ahh, whatever. Joe is chilling the tequila. Why can’t these Bucs be competitive? That’s not too much to ask.

    Our team sucks that’s why……

  2. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Said it before the season started…you cannot expect the defense to be fixed in year one. We’ll win some games after the bye week, but most of the people here had inflated expectations…and they were warned this would happen.

  3. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Incidentally, the storm hit where I live 20 minutes or more ago…no thunder. No lightning.

And it wasn’t even raining at the game yet.

Winston’s offensive line is blowing it for him today.

  4. Architek Says:

    Bonzai,
People want competitive and sound football, that’s all.

  5. BucinJax Says:

Maybe we were just Atlanta ready! We don’t seem to be ready for anyone else. The coordinators really wanted to win against their prior employer. Could too much of the off season focus been on what it took to beat Atlanta in the first game at the expense on the next few teams?. Just curious.

  6. D-Rome Says:

All of the off season changes starting at the beginning of the year was all for naught. The Buccaneers are not committed to winning. They are worse than last year.

  7. Marlow1976 Says:

We are a an average CFL team.

  8. tmaxcon Says:

I have faith in Jameis although he has stunk at times. the line was really exposed today and of course the human penalty machine dotson had his usually brain farts. They need to upgrade dotson ASAP his play is not good enough to overcome his brain dead penalties. I’m sick of watching vjax in slow motion another year with October draft dreams

  9. Bucnnole Says:

How is Chris Conte still even in the league, let alone starting for our crap team. He is the worst safety I’ve ever seen. I’d rather see Ryan Smith in there. Couldn’t possibly get worse.

  10. Strider ....Sec 147 Says:

We aren’t so bad guys geez we have some holes but we are close

  11. Mike Johnson Says:

End our misery. Forfeit the game. The weather will perform no miracles for this helpless lot. But..I..told you..so

  12. sho nuff Says:

soooooo freaking sick of being the chump…this team are perennial LOSERS on EVERY level….

  13. SOEbuc Says:

God, Jesus, Allah, whoever, really hates the bucs. When the hell was the last season we didn’t have multiple major injuries to starters within 5 games? It’s usually including GMC which is why he needs to be traded immediately after this season. CHRIS CONTE BLOOOOOOOOOOOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I played a little safety in pee-wee and I could do better than that piece of toxic sewer waste. Last week was saying Jabrill Peppers in round 1 or Eic Berry in FA next year/good WR in 2 or in FA, but now we might have to go with a dominate DT in round one because Gerald needs to go.

  14. Mike Johnson Says:

People laughed at me on this website when I said we should have chosen DT Aaron Donald over Winston. Y’all laughin now? Denver starts a 7th rder at Qb. And they..double down on their defensive draft. We..have the 1st pick of the draft who throws interceptions galore and turns the ball over more than my blind granny burned hotcakes! Oh well..Fire’em all and start over. After all. Isn’t that the..BUC WAY?

  15. Dr A Says:

I didn’t expect us to win but getting carved up by a rookie qb again there’s no excuse.

Don’t know if it’s a problem of the players not listening to the coaches, or the coaches not making the adjustments.

  16. Brion Says:

At the risk of testing the patience of the Joe…. I simply have to say it for the 100th time: clap, clap….clap, clap, clap…BYRON LEFTWICH

  17. Pelbuc Says:

What’s quite apparent is that this franchise is years and a few GMs away from being competitive, let alone relevant.

  18. SOEbuc Says:

    @Brion

Its Jameis’ second year after a Pro Bowl rookie season so lets take it easy on the Byron Leftwich comparisons. Guy has lost his #1 all-star RB, his #1 blocking TE, and right now VJ is not looking good at all (which would make since if he was slowed, but now it just seems his hands have stopped working). Give him some more weapons and time.

  19. SOEbuc Says:

Where the hell was Alteraun Verner today? Didn’t see him on one play. VH3 does need to be moved to the inside ( Jude-Adjei had a couple nice plays today though) because he is not ready to play outside. Grimes isn’t showing up to what we thought he would be. Two cesspool swimming safeties doesn’t help either.

  20. sho nuff Says:

    …clowned again…

  21. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

OK we suck. Tried to stay positive but its true. We suck

  22. Pittbucfan Says:

Lets start the draft speculations. Who are we going to waste our picks on next year? Should have at least a top 3.
