“Graduate-Level Football”

No kneeling down!

No kneeling down!

Some heavy-hitters at NFL Network and its sister operation NFL.com are totally in the tank for America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

First, Greg Rosenthal puts fingers to keyboard and produces a love letter for Jameis and expects big things from the leader of the Bucs.

I want to write like Winston plays football. His aggressiveness stands out, always confident he can fit passes into tight windows. Winston plays with such obvious joy that he inspires me to use terrible Favrian clichĂ©s. (He’s like a kid out there! You’d love to be his teammate!) Winston shows preternatural abilities like manipulating safeties with his eyes, going through his reads and moving with calm while the world collapses around him. His ability to improvise when necessary is underrated and his innate feel for pressure around him reminds me so much of Ben Roethlisberger.

And in the corresponding video in the story, Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks take an X’s and O’s look at Jameis using All-22. Both expect big things from Jameis based on how he played in preseason. The two already see a difference.

After Jameis pulled off a Brett Favre-like touchdown pass against Cleveland while evading traffic, Jeremiah said, “That’s graduate-level football.”

I expect great things out of Jameis this year, but some people are going overboard. Let him play a season or two before we install him in Canton. He loves the game and we love to watch. For now, let’s leave it at that.

Kneeling is a compromise to sitting. Go Bucs

  3. lightningbuc Says:

I am hopeful no Buc tries to perform this kneeling/sitting stunt.

After watching Cam Newton seemingly try to destroy his body and his season last night I’m just hoping Jameis is smart about sliding and preserving his health. What was Newton thinking?

  5. BROCKTACULAR Says:

Who cares! That’s 1 more loss that we don’t have. Let him beat himself up. BETTER FOR US!!!!!

Joe something tells me you are biased. My comment is still awaiting moderation. Can you tell me why?

Your comment was awaiting moderation because you are a first-time commenter under this name. That’s automatic for all within Joe’s system. … And your comment will not appear because it’s annoying and Joe has no interest in babysitting stuff that has nothing to do with football. It’s Joe’s constitutional right in Joe’s house.–Joe

  7. BennyBucs Says:

The Broncos were definitely trying to take his head off , but he didn’t do himself any favours running around like that.

  8. BringBucsBack Says:

…hope he’s better. Go Jameis! Go Bucs!

  9. Diehardbucfan Says:

Joe I visit your site several times a day (daily) and, you let all type of bull crap thru moderation as long as you agree with it. It’s obvious that you don’t care about the crap that’s going on even though you be In a locker room that’s 90 percent AA. I believe that’s why Gerald Macoy got made at you.I’m pretty sure he reads all the crap you let thru. Like I say I’m not to be disrespectful to you at all, just trying to make a point. With all do respect.

  10. lightningbuc Says:

    Diehard,

As you said, 90 percent of the NFL is AA. Maybe the white guys should take a knee to protest such a disproportionate amount of whites in the league compared to the actual population. I never hear anyone complaining about that. Funny how you pick your “issues”.

  11. Poor Glennon Says:

Ive seen enough……Sieman for Winston straight up.

  12. BigHogHaynes Says:

Any player (Black, Brown, Red, White) that protests on Sunday will have my full support! Simple as that!

  13. Diehardbucfan Says:

Lightningbuc no matter what race you are, in that locker room they are brothers! So stop with your idiotic agenda!

  14. lightningbuc Says:

Blowhardbucfan, I’ll stop with my idiotic agenda when you stop yours.

  15. Diehardbucfan Says:

If you think you hurting me by name calling, think again. I don’t have time to argue with little racist, privileged children. Go do your homework! ^^^^^^

  16. Poor Glennon Says:

Hey you guys steppin on my troll toes. Sieman for Winston…..hello. Whoooooooo friday

  17. Buccfan37 Says:

For this sports fan there is nothing like waking up Sunday morning to watch the Bucs. Talk about built up excitement. Yeah! I can’t wait!

Diehard……..wsit for it……….WELCOME TO JOEBUCSFANDOTCOM son! This is America home of the free. Free to express your opinion and beliefs. Joe is the lenient dictator up here. He allows some things as you see and others he drops the hammer on others. It’s his site his prerogative! Don’t be too sensitive up here man!

It’s funny people get upset because of people using their freedom of expression to express their unhappiness with how this country does things but let someone talk about gun control or getting rid of them boy you guys will be all in an uproar about your rights. I’d like to see how many would get upset if they talked about banning the kluless kluck klan because of it’s beliefs which goes against what Ameica is supposed to be about. How about banning the confederate flag because it represents treason against America?

It’s funny the same people have never donned any military uniform to even try to protect the very evolving freedoms this entire country enjoys. THEY should be the ones who should sit down in shame when the American Anthem is played! It is because of these freedoms America has and will always be the greatest country on earth. We don’t need some loudmouth wealthy blowhard to tell us let’s make America great again. It never stopped!
