God Bless America!

Cover your hearts and stand!

When America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, completed a 34-yard pass to Mike Evans late in the first half for a touchdown to put the Bucs up 27-3 (fast starts!), it nearly brought Joe to tears.

For more than five months prior to the 2015 NFL draft, weeks before the wretched 2014 season was complete, Joe begged, pleaded, wore the beads off his rosary in an effort and passionate hope that Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht would draft Jameis.

Thank God Lovie Smith did not listen to that meddling pest, nosy Father Dungy!

Licht pulled the trigger on Jameis, the No. 1 overall pick. Friday night, before a nationally televised audience on CBS, the world learned again why Joe wanted Jameis so bad.

Looking at times part Brett Favre, part Ken Stabler and part Dan Fouts, Jameis throttled the Browns. Dodging traffic, throwing downfield accurately and throwing guys open.

Jameis in the first half was a work of beauty. He completed 16 of 25 passes for 259 yards and two touchdowns.

Folks, it is fair to say the Bucs have a quarterback. Finally. A franchise quarterback who can stand toe-to-toe with damned near any quarterback.

This must be what it’s like to wake up next to Rachel Watson.

God bless America!

Awesome game by Jameis vs. Waking up next to Rachel Watson? Rachel wins!

The team was firing on all cylinders!

Jameis started fast. Was nimble, elusive and accurate with the exception of 1, maybe 2 throws.

    Agauyo got his mojo back!

Defense played pretty good, although run defense was a little weak at times, and it’s obvious grimes will get beat with height sometimes.

Pretty encouraging for preseason game 3. Of course, #itsdabrowns

Great game though. I caught myself jumping up and being loud during a preseason game. Wow!

He’s the real deal Holyfield. And he’s still prob %65 of where he actually could develope to be. Keep continuity with his coaches. Young o line esp if we can nail a cpl draft picks or roster garbage guys to come in. Another wr or two. Were set

If smitty can stay another year or two and then hay hayes takes over. This could be the real thing here guys. Wait til 2018-2022 and we really are the creme de la creme

Mike Johnson and big hog that means the best of the best for the lame folk

  6. unbelievable Says:

^^ no way smith sticks around that long if the defense turns it around fast. It’s unfortunate but I think jay Hayes will step up well.

Little hog and little Johnson are no where to be found. Coincidence?

Give Cleveland #2 and #4 for Josh Gordon and we go to nfc championship game..this fvking year

Jameis to Evans. That throw showed just how lethal a combo those two are. I truly beleive this year Evans reaches that next tier with Antonio Brown, OBJ, Julio etc. And Jameis, lets just say I would take him over Matt Ryan any day.

As close as we are going to get.

Jameis was beautiful tonight!! So on target and will be soo happy if we can keep a healthy VJ and ME. And Humphries looked great on the catches he was tall enough to catch, not to mention the punt return. Lets not forget, it was the Browns, but that was beautiful first half offense. That no huddle offense that Jameis runs looks spectacular

When was the last time we had a starting qb who threw tds in all the preseason games he played in or better yet scored atleast 1 td in every game of the season? Fameis was masterful tonight especially on that td to Sims.

Today I felt emotions that I didn’t know I had

  13. BigMacAttack Says:

I love Jameis but I’d trade him and 3 first round pics for Rachel Watson in a heartbeat.

  14. tmaxcon Says:

Jameis was great. It’s crystal clear the bucs need a backup quarterback. Glennon was pathetic once again. That is 6 out of the last 7 pre season games glennon has sucked and could not out play truck drivers? Ups guys and his future peers in the insurance industry

  15. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

@Big Mac that and my soul

  16. Dooshlarue Says:

But what does Joe have to say about the Devil, Johnnie Foosball?

    Go Bucs!

  17. Christina Says:

Between the rosary beads & that meddling pest quote I’m dying lol It was definitely sweet to see Jameis have such a great night! I’m sure your buddy Duemig is pissed somewhere

  18. Bob in Valrico Says:

masterful game from Jameis.Good job Koetter, of not focusing so much on the running game early, when it didn’t seem effective. Evans needs a nick name,Vise grips sounds good to me.
