Bucs officials are all pumped up after a successful summer at One Buc Palace.

That’s a wrap.

With the close of training camp Wednesday, chief operating officer Brian Ford took a look back at the turnout and developments at One Buc Place.

“Fantastic camp,” said Ford, who can’t wait to show off the new stadium enhancements Friday night against the Browns. “We’ve got the best fans in the NFL and our players got engaged with them all during camp. We had 11 open practices, kicking it off with the military, and the energy from our fans stayed strong throughout.”

Under new head coach Dirk Koetter, the Bucs staged early workouts in an attempt to minimize the heat and chance of thunderstorms.

“I think the morning practices were great — cooler for all involved,” Ford said. “We had two rough weather days and I want to deliver a big thank you to all the fans who came out and got our team fired up and ready for the regular season. Thanks to the groundskeepers and the events teams for their hard work. In merchandising, we hit records across the board. People are ready for Buccaneer football.”

Especially Ford, who has been a driving force for improvements to 18-year-old Raymond James Stadium.

“If you see someone out on the 50-yard line Friday night, rolling around in a suit, you’ll know it’s me,” said Ford. “Fans are going to be knocked out by the whole game-day experience, from Surround Sound to the replay cameras to the tower walls and the video quality … it’s excitement on and off the field.”

The pirate ship should have sink if the Bucs lose!!!! We want Drama when we come to RJS!!!!!!

    Protect the Ship!!!!!!

  2. Mojiska Says:

Ohhhhhhh they should build a sinking ship on the other side and hang the opposing teams flag on it every week!

  3. TVD head ball coach Says:

we should make opposing mascots walk the plank!!!

  4. 813bucboi Says:

didn’t renew tickets this year but I am going to the Seattle and Denver game….wife made me choose between updating the man cave with a 60′ 1080p 3D smart TV and more buc memorabilia or season tickets….hard decision but I picked the tv and a VHG jersey that he signed and is already in the fame…better luck next year guess….GO BUCS!!!!

  5. 813bucboi Says:

    @TVD…I like that idea….GO BUCS!!!!

  6. Buccfan37 Says:

How about the real drama about to play out, the big TV’s vs being there.

  7. Tom Edrington Says:

Fans have been “knocked out” of the stadium by too many losses and not enough wins……

    Simple as that.

  8. D-Rome Says:

I’m already going to one home game this season against the Rams. I can’t wait to see and experience all the changes at Ray Jay.

  9. drdneast Says:

813bucboi is going to have to settle for the smaller set at home, something his wife has had to deal with for years.

  10. Buc1987 Says:

Mojiska…I kind of like your idea. Whichever team loses gets blown out of the water by the other ship.

  11. The Buc Realist Says:

Mojiska, it is a great idea!!! especially if we could fill each boat with each teams fans!!!! Maybe even the players wives and family????

The “plank” should only be used when GM’s and coaches get fired!!! it should be written into the contracts if they want the payout of the contract!!!!

And If I am the Glazers I would never do a interview ever again!!! I would hire some to dress up as a pirate and speak “pirate” for all announcements and interviews!!! even applying for the superbowl presentations and league meetings!!!! ARRRRRRRR!!!

    Mojishka I love that idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. SOEbuc Says:

And before every game we can get Sloth from the Goonies on top of the ship to give us a good “HEYYY YOUUU GUYYYS!!!” That would get me pumped.

  16. Mike Says:

I like it @soebuc. Joe, this idea should be sent to the powers that be to get it implemented. It would be awesome and something for Bucs fans to call their own and not copy from other teams.
