Where Was Glennon?

April 27th, 2016

For the pre-draft conspiracy crowd, Mike Glennon had a mysterious absence this afternoon.

After this morning’s walk-through practice at One Buc Palace, Bucs quarterbacks hung out on the field to put in extra work with their quarterbacks coach.

But there was one QB missing. As shown in Joe’s photo above, the missing gunslinger was Mike Glennon.

Was he called inside for a conference call regarding a potential trade? Oh, the drama.

  1. DB55 Says:

He must have beat out JW for the starting spot after that TD pass yesterday in practice. The starter went in to rest while the others get more reps.

  2. Idontwannahearitanymore Says:

    America’s starting backup quarterback!

  3. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Maybe he’s sending a quiet little message to Licht that his desire to be traded is stronger than the Bucs’ effort to move him thus far, and he’s willing to sit it out a bit to let them know he means it. Or, maybe not. It’s all a guessing game until Koetter reveals why he wasn’t there.

  4. Buc1987 Says:

    Maybe he had the runs….

  5. BucFan20 Says:

Maybe he just wanted to give Joe something to write about?

  6. mark2001 Says:

Please FLBoy….he is going to play the good soldier…he is a FA next year. Why in the world would he try to look like a problem player…would cost him millions.

Maybe he is busy trying to talk to some PR people so he can figure out how to convince GM’s and the Media that he is the real “Mikey Football”.

  7. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Maybe he was in the bathroom.

    This one is a stretch.

  8. bee Says:

    @flboyindallas

Lol…he’s willing to sit out? That’s what he’s been doing! Sitting! Lol…he probably ran back in the building to get his clipboard. Who cares really….

  9. CrustyCrab Says:

On the phone with John Elway hopefully…

  10. Buccfan37 Says:

Maybe Glennon was nursing his bruised ego.

  11. tmaxcon Says:

his brother had him doing promo voice overs for their radio show…

  12. Tom S. Says:

When a Glennon trade is worked out they will pull him from practice. So definitely possible, particularly if he doesn’t participate tomorrow.

Can’t have the baby giraffe break a hoof right when you are about to sell him.

  13. buc89 Says:

His neck got tired of being so long and he had to lie down.

  14. Pickgrin Says:

“Was he called inside for a conference call regarding a potential trade?”

LOL – that’s some imagination you’ve got there Joe.

If Glennon is traded outright, it will likely be tomorrow not tonight. If he is used as part of a deal to move up – it would probably be tonight.

  15. DoNUTS Says:

Um….this is a strong signal that a trade is in the works; especially if coach didn’t clarify the absence. Denver needs QB in the worst way and he is available and cheap. I hope it is pick #63 at end of round 2…that would be superb value. Denver also has (2) 3rd round picks #94 and #98 and knowing the Bucs the way I do….they always disappoint….will probably get the 3rd rounder #98.

Keep in mind that Glennon was pick #73 in 2013….a trade for the #63 pick is not out of reality. Its all about value.

  16. tmaxcon Says:

    DoNUTS

so when Glennon goes to Denver and can not beat out Sanchez what will all the excuse be then…. life is so unfiar to 8

  17. Pickgrin Says:

    Oops –

    Meant to say:

If Glennon is traded outright, it will likely be Friday not Tomorrow. If he is used as part of a deal to move up – it would probably be in round 1 on Thursday.

  18. passthebuc Says:

Probably he was taking the picture

  19. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    tmax

We’re going to change your name to Nostratmax for you ability to see the future.

  20. Buccanstopit Says:

He was getting a physical for the trade, see ya at Draft Picks….

  21. Tom S. Says:

When Glennon goes to another team he can flame out for all I care. Despite Nostradamax’ grand predictions I couldn’t care less what he does in Denver or NY for that matter.

Virtually everyone would jump for joy if we get a 2nd round pick for him. Since Joe believes we can trade our marginal, overpaid, backup center for a 5th round pick surely we could get a 2nd for a baby giraffe like Glennon.

  22. tmaxcon Says:

    StPeteBucsFan

I appreciate that… It’s tough being right all the time.

  23. Mike Johnson Says:

I like glennon. The kid is playing his string like a well oiled violin. HE will get another shot either with us or elsewhere. At worst, He’ll be a career backup. And the good ones do have value.

  24. NCMike Says:

Actually that was a tap on the shoulder tax…. Your same smack talk is old after 3 seasons. If Glennon is traded, then it’s all good. If he isn’t traded, then it’s all good. The constant trash talk is about old. I would say that you’re JF just talking smack, but I believe you’ve never been on an NFL field at all huh?

  25. USFBUC Says:

It could be a trade in the works, both Greg Auman and Ira Kaufman have put out articles in the past 24 hrs talking about a potential trade and then Glennon gets pulled/leaves the practice field today. Glennon has been talked about as potential trade material by sources not in Tampa as well. Glennon also seems a lot more attractive than the others because of how he has handled everything.

  26. Bring bucs back Says:

    Curious indeed.

  27. ToesOnTheLine! Says:

If it is a trade then they damn well better get higher than what they got Mike for. For their 2013 3rd round pick the Bucs got a starting caliber QB who isn’t douchey if asked to be a backup all for a cheap rookie contract…that is something they certainly got their money’s worth out of Mike. No need to give him away for virtually nothing
