The “Fun” Regime

More evidence that Dirk Koetter is no Lovie Smith

More evidence that Dirk Koetter is no Lovie Smith

Lovie’s world was somewhat bizarre.

The Bucs’ former head coach was billed as a “players’ coach,” but Lovie played favorites to the extreme and heaven forbid if the wrong guy threw around F-bombs.

Dirk Koetter is a different animal. This is a man who you want to drink beer with — and he actually drinks beer. And Koetter keeps it real and intense, and fun is a big part of that approach.

Koetter also added his drinking buddies to the staff in offensive coordinator/receivers coach Todd Monken and defensive coordinator Mike Smith. These guys are fiery men, obsessed with details and discipline, and having fun, too.

Joe acutely remembers how loose Monken was at his introductory news conference. The guy was talking about opening up the offense and gunning for big plays because that’s football. He also was saying he’d take every one of Mike Evans’ drops personally.

Jeff Darlington, of NFL Network, was live at One Buc Palace yesterday and spoke on Total Access about how Bucs’ defensive players getting to know Koetter are feeling a “fun” vibe from him. And it’s a transition they’re enjoying.

You mean Lovie and Leslie Frazier were no fun? Shocking.

And still I’m sure HC Koetter and his staff will kick some ass if we lose some games stupidly !

I believe we finally have the right guys in charge.

The best way is to have fun is WINNING! Nothing else matters… Of course running up the score on the Falcons, Panthers and Saints would be an added bonus. Thank god we have a staff in place that’s not afraid to score or put a team away. Mike Smith rubbed Lovie’s nose in dog crap real good during one of the most embarrassing defeats in bucs history.
