Former Bucs WR Preston Parker Jailed

Former Bucs WR pinched.

Remember former Bucs receiver Preston Parker? Well, it looks like he may also be remembered as a jailbird.

Parker, who was cut by the Giants after two drop-filled games last season, had a run-in with the law Thursday in Palm Beach County. And if the charges stick, as reported by Jorge Milian of the Palm Beach Post, Parker likely is looking at time in the hole.

Parker is facing charges of cocaine possession, using or displaying a firearm during a felony and destroying evidence. He was released Friday afternoon from the Palm Beach County Jail on $15,000 bond.

Boca Raton police tried to pull over Parker just before 4 p.m. Thursday after he ran a stop sign on the 5400 block of Glades Road, near the Town Center at Boca Raton mall, according to an arrest report. Police also noticed that the window tint on Parker’s Chevrolet Impala was beyond the legal limit and tried to stop him by activating lights and siren on the patrol car.

The report states that Parker’s vehicle slowed but he continued eastbound on Glades and then southbound on Interstate 95, traveling as slow as 5 mph on the highway. Officers noticed that Parker was making “furtive” and “frantic” movements in the car before he lowered a window and stuck his hands out while “discarding an unknown substance,” the report said. During a search of Parker’s vehicle, officers found marijuana, cocaine and a fully loaded 9mm Glock pistol under the driver’s seat, the report said. Parker told police that he has a concealed-weapons permit.

Parker didn’t help himself when cops showed him an empty jar with pot residue on it. Cops asked him about the jar and, per Milian, Parker replied, “That’s been long gone.”

Let’s see, coke, pot and a loaded Glock in the car while driving 5 mph down the interstate? That’s not good, not good at all.

Parker, per the arrest report, listed his occupation as “Player.”

He’s just trying to be like all these Gaytors this past season. At least he never got caught blocking his own teammate.

Joe: why are we reading about this, he’s no longer a BUC, just a black guy with a drug problem, wonder why it hit the national spotlight?

    Hog:

Joe writes about ex-Bucs players and coaches all the time.

Its often said celebrity, pro athletes,entertainers..people with lotsa money, can buy Justice. Probably true to some extent and up to a certain point. This young man now has neither. So, one of the fastest growing industries will welcome him with open arms. Come join the band Mr Parker where all the comforts of Dregg society awaits you..in prison!

    @BigHog

Hey bro. Hopefully after our last exchange which ended well you feel comfortable debating me when race rears its ugly head.

As you know I concede there is plenty of racism in society. In fact there is soooo much of it BigHog I do not understand the reason for looking for it where it’s not a problem.

I can honestly say I didn’t think of Parker as “another black player” until you just ID’d him as black. Johnny Manziel is white and he has been blasted by Joe and everybody else…justifiably because of his alcoholism and stupid behavior.

I think most folks here are smart enough to know that. Many of us enjoy “the illicit herb” as well!!! LMAO Herb is not a “white” or “black” problem. It’s been a blessing for both races when used properly.
Coke? Just not my thing but I’ve certainly seen as many white folks as black folks enjoy coke.

End the war on drugs and put the private prison complex out of business.

  11. Espo Says:

Not to defend his actions but the window tint as probable cause to pull someone over is racist bs. I have limo tint on my car and have never been pulled over for it. Cops are always pulling over people in the Suitcase City area for it.

StPeteBucsFan: yes we can debate any issue, let’s get to it, my question asking why are we reading about Parker, after reading Joe’s answer, I can see were someone can say he’s pulling the race card, Joe quickly straighten that out, without calling me a stupid dummy, I don’t allow anybody to talk to my face that way because I’ll walk away, but I’ll walk away only once. I know drugs are not privy to Black or White or Panlo trust me I know, but when I was in that world I didn’t want everybody in my business, and I’m sure these Players feel the same way, I don’t need anybody to love or like me but if you respect me I will return respect. Mr StPete please feel free to call me out about my race card pulling tendicies at any time!!

Preston Parker crashed into my friends garages while I was at FSU. He was drunk and high but the cops never came and they worked it out privately. He got arrested and kicked off the team for his 3 other offenses the next year. Stellar guy!

  15. JMN Says:

If the window tint is to dark, how can the cop see or even know the race of the person he is pulling over? I’m just confused as to how this became a race issue. Anyhow, Parker’s career is definitely done now if it wasn’t already at this point.

  16. Seminole Bill Says:

The Raiders will sign him within 48 hours. He fits them nicely.

  17. Espo Says:

    JMN

Because they do it in black neighborhoods. Not saying it had to do with this incident. Parker ran a stop sign.

  18. SeattleBuc Says:

Dude was a good possession receiver for us, i was fried when we let him go back then. He was kinda clutch for us. Not big time but a role player. Anyways… Drugs and Guns in your car = massive retard.

  19. Mark Biggens Bachman Says:

If you have dark tint you can’t tell the race of the person or if they’re making “frantic gestures”. If a cop flashes his/her lights, PULL OVER. Kill them with kindness and if you don’t have warrants the worst that will happen is a ticket.

Want to fix almost every problem in America? Regardless of race (plenty numbers to back this up) don’t have babies until you’re married and then raise said babies responsibly. Yes, it is “simple as that”.
