Eagles-Browns Blockbuster Playing To Bucs

April 20th, 2016

Jason Licht is a happy man

The Chargers are on the clock!

Actually, the Rams are on the clock with the No. 1 overall pick, but they are certain to draft a quarterback next week after a massive trade to get the top slot from the Titans.

This afternoon, the Eagles traded up from No. 8 overall to get the Browns’ No. 2 overall pick. So there’s no doubt Philly will be drafting a quarterback, too. The Browns also gave up a fourth-round pick in 2017, and the Eagles handed over third- and fourth-round picks in 2017 (No. 77 and No. 100 overall), plus their first-round pick in 2017, and their second-rounder in 2018.

The Chargers pick No. 3 overall next week, followed in order by Dallas, Jacksonville, Baltimore, San Francisco, Cleveland and then Tampa Bay.

Joe sees great news here because the Bucs should have an easy time — and a relatively inexpensive time — trading up to get Cleveland’s slot at No. 8. Or, maybe a team hungry for a left tackle (Tennessee?) trades up with Cleveland. It’s obvious the Browns and their Moneyball team want to stock up picks.

Also, today’s trade increases the odds Licht will be able to trade up for a targeted player without blowing a huge ransom. Could Jalen Ramsey slip to a rebuilding Ravens team eager to deal back a few places?

The draft build-up just got a lot more fun.

    It’s the Ramsey love now…America’s Cornerback lol….patience I say….Buckner, Bosa or Hargreaves at #9 OR Trade Down…

  2. unbelievable Says:

The Eagles and Rams are out of their minds. All those picks given up to go after 2 sub par QBs. SMDH.

But this is great for us! Better plays to choose from. Now the question is, what is our biggest need and what player will make the most impact as rookie trying to fill said need?

    DE?
    DT?
    CB?
    Safety?

  3. Bucsfanman Says:

    The intrigue is killing me!

  4. salish_seamonster Says:

Unless Ramsey or Buckner are dropping to us, I don’t see the sense in trading up, and still think the idea of trading down sounds a lot better.

  5. Jerseybuc Says:

I wouldn’t be surprised if another QB somehow found his way into the top 10.

  6. BFFL Says:

I wouldn’t automatically assume the Eagles are targeting a Qb. This trade could be for Ramsey.

  7. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

As much as I like Ramsey, I don’t support moving up, unless it’s using a pick from trading Glennon, because that’s free money.

  8. 813bucboi Says:

@miko…I agree except I prefer Stanley over buckner….
@jerseybuc…I think your on to something…I think the 9ers could grab Paxton lynch with chip at the helm now…this is setting up to be a pretty exciting and unpredictable draft…cant wait!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  9. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

@BFFL, unless it’s smoke, Roseman is telling reporters they will use the #2 on a QB.

  10. Jacko101 Says:

Not really Joe, honestly it just changes the order in which they are Drafted. VG3 is still a buc (not happy about it).

  11. Jameisbucsfan Says:

Time to guarantee us Ramsey, trade 1, 3 and 5 for pick 3.

  12. unbelievable Says:

I don’t support moving up and trading away any picks.

A much wiser decision would be trade for another 2nd round pick. With that we could grab 2 very good DL and a very good CB/S

  13. DallasBuc Says:

So tired of waiting for this draft to get here…

  14. Pat Says:

    …thank you for you patience…

  15. Pat Says:

Ramping up for any teams gunning for Pax.

  16. MadMax Says:

glennon our first and another first from next year too the chargers for Ramsey.

  17. Wausa Says:

I love the idea of trading back and getting either Rankins or Ogbah, but if we find a way to move up and not give up our 2nd to get Ramsey then that would be the smart move for the Bucs.
If the Bucs had this years number 1 overall selection and didn’t trade it I am fairly certain the selection would be Ramsey.

  18. 813bucboi Says:

    rams-qb
    eagles-qb
    chargers-tunsil
    cowboys-bosa
    jags-jack
    ravens-buckner
    9ers-stanley
    browns-ramsey
    bucs-vhg

  19. DB55 Says:

#9+MG8+6th rnd to Cowboys for Ramsey. We have 2 sixth rnd picks so that should work. Chargers will pick Tunsil to protect Rivers.

  20. Couch Fan Says:

Dont trade up in the 1st. Do your job and select the BPA at any position of need then you can think about trades in 2nd round or trade back up into the late 1st.

  21. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

ramsey, bosa, tunsil, stanley or trade down

  22. cmurda Says:

There’s a good chance Buckner or Bosa falls into our laps as several of the Top 8 picks are in dire need of offensive help. If we consider that Zeke Elliot plus the top 2 QB’s will be gone along with Tunsil, that’s half the picks without defense coming off the board yet. Zeke might not go before we draft but the other 3 definitely will. There’s a chance that Bosa falls to us. That would be amazing.

  23. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Draft T Jack Conklin at #9

or “if” you can Trade Down

  24. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    813bucboi

There’s no way – Ramsey falls past Jerry Jones!

  25. Mojiska Says:

@DB, I don’t think the boys would be interested in moving back 5 for a backup qb for a year. They would be in a tough spot next year to sign Glennon and romo still has 3 years. I would love that scenario, but I don’t think the boys want Glennon. The only teams now that may be interested are jets, broncos, maybe bills, and any contending team that loses its starter preseason or training camp.

  26. America's Commenter Says:

Gotta get a Defensive End, that’s where Best Player Available intersects with Team Needs.

  27. Newbucsfan2 Says:

    It’s the Ramsey love now…America’s Cornerback lol….

Hell yeah… If he proves to be 1/2 the player JW is then “we done good”!
    Go Get Him!!

  28. J-U-N-Y Says:

People – Is not how many picks you can get in one draft – but how many players can contribute from that draft – Everyone thought the Falcons giving the farm for Julio Jones was crazy, yet he has been burning our defense since drafted – why cant we do the same for Ramsey? think about it! we have many holes but cant fill them all up with one draft. – Browns had 12 picks last year, how many contributed to the team? they already cut some. I rather trade up and have 2, may 3 effective players then a full draft and 1 effective player.

  29. Newbucsfan2 Says:

As much as I like Ramsey, I don’t support moving up, unless it’s using a pick from trading Glennon, because that’s free money.

    Duh… Let’s make this happen!

  30. J-U-N-Y Says:

    *than

  31. Brian Says:

Cleveland has lije 12 picks this year. FInd a way to send the Glennon for one of them!

  32. Newbucsfan2 Says:

A much wiser decision would be trade for another 2nd round pick. With that we could grab 2 very good DL and a very good CB/S

    Very good isn’t good enough!
    Ramsey!

  33. Gus Says:

I would like to propose a trade. Bucs Cowboys.
Buccaneers give up Mike Glennon(to backup Romo in case he gets hurt), our 1st and 3rd round pick, to get your 4th overall pick. Elliott will likely still be there at 9th overall, you get a QB to backup Romo and possibly be the future.

  34. mark Says:

Now the talk is the Browns might take Paxton Lynch at #8 and not take a chance that another team picks him before they get into round 2. That can help.
Just love to see the QB’s go early.

  35. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Unbelievable says…..”All those picks given up to go after 2 sub par QBs. SMDH.”

I think most of us agree with that observation which leads me to another….thanks heavens we were number one in the draft last year. I think MM is head and shoulders above any of the QB’s coming out this year and of course I believe JW is better than MM. We were really lucky to have such a wonderful problem…two talented QB’s from which to select…glad we got the right one…but I suspect Tennessee will be happy as well.

    @DallasBuc
“So tired of waiting for this draft to get here…”

Amen brother! And the season..please the season! Because with the season will come the end to another freakng reality show that’s gone waaaay too long. Our elections have become absurdly expensive and last forever. Just freaking vote already people know who they want on both sides of the aisle.

  36. Supersam Says:

Actually Joe I think the Eagles are going Elliott with the 2nd pick. Not quarterback

  37. destro44 Says:

I’m just going to throw this out. I think both Philly and the Rams are taking a huge risk if they are drafting QBs. I barely think either of these guys are 1st rd talent, I mean could you imagine the Titans or us trading out of a QB last year, obviously Cleveland wasn’t should on them. Hopefully someone gets antsy with 2 QBs off the board and reaches for Lynch.

  38. DB55 Says:

    Mojiska

We all know Romo won’t finish the season and if he does he’ll play like Peyton did year. If not for their back-up qb they never get into the playoffs. Just look at the Cowboys last year with weeden henceforth why they are drafting fourth overall.

  39. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Agree with Couch….

Don’t trade up in the first……but trade into the first from the 2nd round if possible…..there are many good players between 9-17 or so…..trade back if you can…..someone may want to move up to get Paxton Lynch….or Ezekiel @ 9….
I know Lynch isn’t projected to go that high….but there are really no other QB options…..

  40. Bucsfanman Says:

I agree with Couch on this one. Stay put, draft well. Is Ramsey a once-in-a-lifetime corner/safety? I’m not so sure. No need to reach if you’re not 100%

  41. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Congratulation to coach Hue Jackson in the Browns for the trade.
They need all the picks they can get – to rebuild that roster.
Plus I’m sure they’ll probably draft Cardele Jones in 3rd round now.
If anyone can get the best out a quarterback – Hue Jackson can.

  42. DB55 Says:

    Gus

I think a 3rd is overpaying if you look at the trade chart.

  43. Tampa Tony Says:

I don’t get the Ramsey love, dude had ZERO ints against a weak schedule

  44. Gus Says:

I’m usually against trading up but when you have an asset like Glennon. Use him

  45. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    DB55

I’m sure Jerry knows he can still Draft Ramsey.
Then if the Bucs are willing to wheel & deal Glennon.
When Dallas is on the clock with #34 pick at the beginning of 2nd round.
That’s when that conversation will heat up.

  46. DB55 Says:

    Luv

    That will work too.

  47. LUVMYBUCS Says:

*Potential 2nd Round Trade Destinations for Mike Glennon
    • #32 Browns
    • #34 Dallas
    • #35 San Diego
    • #47 New Orleans
    • #51 New York
    • #63 Denver

  48. Newbucsfan2 Says:

Gee all this qb reaching makes me thankful that we have our qb! They all seem so sadly desperate…lets capitalize on this and go get our man Ramsey and tear it up on both sides of the ball!
There are quite a few pass rushers to take but only a few real play makers!

    Go bucs!

  49. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Wausa you seem to be the only one that can see it.. There are two targets for us at 9. Ogbah and Rankins the rest of this noise is just pipe dreaming.

  50. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

And I’m willing to bet money. My number can be provided and I’m willing to attend the draft party to get closer to ya if need be. Holla at me.

  51. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

I say the Bucs should trade down to the 15 slot for this years 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick along with that teams number one pick in 2017 thru 2025. Man this is crazy stuff going on this year. No way would I have traded last year’s number one pick as Jameis was the guy we needed, but damn apparently we oulc have hauled in a mother load of picks

  52. Lord Cornelius Says:

Hopefully Paxton Lynch now is selected in the top 8 (49ers or Cleveland strong possibility I’d think – or someone trading up to get him).

And why not Ezekial Elliot while we’re at it?

    1-Rams-Goff/Wentz
    2-Eagles-Goff/Wentz
    3-Chargers-Tunsil
    4-Cowboys-Ramsey
    5-Jaguars-Myles Jack
    6-Ravens-Ezekial Elliot
    7-49ers-Paxton Lynch
    8-Browns-Deforest Buckner
    9-Bucs-Joey Bosa

We can dream right? Hell – sub Ronnie Stanley for Elliot (very possible as well) and we can still end up with a Bosa.

If Bosa isn’t there and it’s guys like Bucker / VH3 / Stanley then i’m sure we can find a trade back partner in the early teens so we can still get a Rankins or one of that group that falls furthur.

  53. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

Cornelius, I don’t think that’s all that farfetched….although I doubt the Browns would pass on “hometown” kid Bosa for Buckner. But that would leave us with Buckner

  54. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Charlie Cassserly has us taking Myles Jack at 9? No disrespect to Jack but but another LB with that #9? We have two of the premier LB’s in the league…we just signed an FA who admittedly is nearing the end of his career…so perhaps an LB later but with #9?

  55. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    “Tampa Tony Says:
    April 20th, 2016 at 4:01 pm

I don’t get the Ramsey love, dude had ZERO ints against a weak schedule”

This is what happens when you simply look at stats. How many games did you actually watch him play in his career? If people don’t throw at your side of the field, how many picks can you make?

He played 3 different positions in his three years (S, Star (hybrid DB & LB), and CB, actually 4 if you count kick returner. That’s 180 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 23 pass breakups and three interceptions in three years, while QBs were avoiding him.

He’s bigger and faster with better measurables than the next highest rated DB. There’s a reason experts were mentioning him in the running for the top pick.

Saying he has no interception his final year against weak competition = Saying Jameis threw a lot interceptions his final year against weak competition.

  56. Newbucsfan2 Says:

Dallas Cowboys staff writer Nick Eatman reveals team officials allegedly got a not-so glowing report about Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey.

    That should help!
    (hope they believe that bs:)!!

  57. Capt. Tim Says:

Now, just one more team will spend a high pick on a mediocre QB( Paxton Lynch?), then we should have a shot at one of the top two DEs.

Winston, and even Mariota, played top level teams, and won National titles.
Thats pretty good evidence of NFL potential.

What of these guys ever accomplished?
    Crazy!

Hope can get either one of top 2 DEs, Top CB, To DT, or WR.
    Looking better.

  58. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Lets not for before Atlanta traded up from #27 to #6 in 2011

    – They had Real Good Roster
    – Both Offense & Defense were stacked across the board

Review (2008-2010) Before the Julio Jones trade in 2011
    • 2008 *11- 5 | Playoffs – Lost WC
    • 2009 9-7
    • 2010 *13 -3 | Playoffs – Lost Div

Atlanta viewed Julio Jones as the missing piece to a Super Bowl birth
    • 2011 – * 10-6 | Playoffs Lost WC
    • 2012 – *13-3 | Lost Conf

    Great run eh?

Now do you make that move if your not a playoff team?
If your record in the past 3yrs is less then stellar – do make that move?

A 3yr record of (12-36) doesn’t sound like you should be giving up draft currency. More acquiring more picks, instead of giving them up.

Cause believe it or not trading away premium picks for one player.
    Depletes a roster (Ref. Atlanta 2012 – 2015)

  59. RustyRhinos Says:

“the Eagles handed over third- and fourth-round picks in 2017 (No. 77 and No. 100 overall), plus their first-round pick in 2017, and their second-rounder in 2018.”

All of this for one player?
Talk about instant pressure to be a star.

  60. Costa Rica John Says:

Joe, next time you see Liht ask him what was the best offer he got last year to move up to #1. That would make for an interesting article.

  61. LUVMYBUCS Says:

A 3yr record of (12-36) doesn’t sound like you should be giving up draft currency. More like acquiring more picks, instead of giving them up.

  62. Owlykat Says:

I am opposed to trading up or down. Licht can get great value using just the picks we already have. This would be a doable great draft: 1. Sheldon Rankins DT, 2. Emmanuel Ogbah DE & Germain Irfedi OT (2d pick trade for Glennon), 3. Miles Killebrew SS, 4. Jonathan Jones CB, 5. Cody Core WR, 6. Nick Kwiatkoski MLB & SLB backup and STs, 7. Joel Heath DT backup, and Undrafted Will Ratelle FB. Then bring in a 3D string QB on the cheap.

  63. Tnew Says:

Gus I proposed something like that a while back. Giving the 3rd is too much. Exchanging our 3rd for their 4th is not.

No need to get too excited yet folks. Two QBs were always going to go before 9. Nothing has changed. The only thing that this does is possibly cause another club to jump in front of Cleveland to get Paxton Lynch. If they switch with 15 (highly likely), then unlikely the 3rd qb is off the board prior to our pick.

San Francisco will be looking to move back too I would imagine because their QB is not on the board this year. Would anyone have the stones to trade next years first and a 4th or 5th to them to get this years first? Say the Jets, then San Fran would be positioned to get into the Clemson QB (Chip Kelly would love him some Deshaun Watson) I would imagine.

Something to get three QB’s picked would have to happen to really alter our board. I could make an argument that this hurts as two QB’s would’ve been drafted and EE could’ve been taken by Philly. Hopefully, Cleveland really likes Paxton Lynch or EE.

The Chargers/Cowboys at 3 and 4 really control the draft. They could each go in so many ways. Chargers could go Ramsey or Tunsil. Cowboys could go Ramsey, Jack or Bosa. I’m trying to imagine a situation that Ramsey gets by the Jags and I just can’t.

  64. 813bucboi Says:

@luv….the cowboys just selected the same type of player in Byron jones last year…a hybrid cb/safety…not sure if that’s a smart move by drafting ramsey but ive never known the boys to be smart….they may go for ramsey…they do need de help with the release of hardy and bosa could fit right in…

    @lord..i wouldn’t mind bosa

@loveandwarrick….by that definition m.alexander should be the best cb since he had “0” career ints…obviously teams avoided him his entire career…BS…qbs didn’t avoid throwing to ramsey…plenty of teams threw at him and the ball sometimes would hit him dead in the hands….ask yourself….why are majority of the scout suggesting he is a better safety than cb….because he doesn’t have the ball skills footwork and technique to be elite at cb….taller and faster doesn’t always translate to production(i.e.justin gilbert)…Winston did throw a lot of ints his final year but he also threw a lot of tds…plus he was throwing to a few true freshman that didn’t know what they were doing….GO BUCS!!!

  65. Tampabaybucfan Says:

There have been so many players mentioned as our possible pick at # 9….it sure seems to me that a trade back (if possible) is a good move….we could still get a great player in the top 15…..the pick we would get for the trade down plus a possible Glennon pick would give us plenty of ammunition to trade back up into round 1 for another player of need…..all that without losing our 2nd round pick.

  66. DB55 Says:

Josh Norman is now a Free Agent.

  67. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

HOLY CRAP Josh Norman is now a Free Agent

SIGN THAT MAN RIGHT FREAKING NOW

  68. NJBucsFan Says:

    Go get Norman

  69. The bucfan 88 Says:

Norman is begging to be a buc sign him now

  70. Kevin Says:

    No to VH

  71. Deminion Says:

    GO GET NORMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CALL HIM

  72. Todd Says:

    Please sign josh Norman !!!!!!!

  73. Deminion Says:

GET NORMAN how much cap available?

  74. Deminion Says:

anyone have cap figures man if licht some how gets norman I would be super stoked

  75. BigMacAttack Says:

Don’t trade up, if anything trade down.

  76. BigMacAttack Says:

I still wouldn’t be upset if the Bucs take Elliot at 9. Not a need right now but he has major potential. I remember when the Giants had the 3 headed monster in the backfield and they tore it up. I think Licht will do good things again this year.

  77. Couch Fan Says:

Why would they just all the sudden not thinkk a contract is unattainable? Could he be asking for to much? Dont get your hopes up.

  78. DB55 Says:

According to the streets, Bucs have just over 14 mil in cap space plus Verners 7 mil. Norman franchise tag value is 14mil, so he’s probably looking for 15m per yr.

  79. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    DB55

    WTF they released Josh Norman..lol

    Let bidding began

  80. Deminion Says:

Gil Arcia is already saying Licht’s not gunna do it 🙁 I say why not we wanna win now! cut verner sorry I like him but ijs he wasnt gunna be on the team next yr anyway

  81. Deminion Says:

watch him get like 17 mil from JAX

  82. DB55 Says:

    Luv

    It’s Revis all over again.

  83. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

Meh, not that I know more about this, I say let Norman go. He’s a 30 yr old corner, best yrs behind him and obviously wants a long term deal worth more than the $14M a yr the franchise tag would’ve given him.

Not worth it. Not at his age. If he was 26, then yea….but if he was 26 the Panthers wouldn’t have let him go

  84. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Extension/Restructure Contracts
    • Vincent Jackson $12,209,778 ( Convert $9,777,778 into signing bonus)
    • Alterraun Verner $6,750,000 (Convert $ $4,750,000 into signing bonus)

    Possible June 1st Release Candidates
    • Gosder Cherilus – $4,500,000
    • Evan Dietrich-Smith – $2,500,000
    • George Johnson – $2,000,000

    *Additional $23.5 million
*Now yo’ve got an Estimates (After draft Compensation)= $34 million

What ramifications does this have on future cap space.

    Future Cap Space
    • 2017 $74,761,273
    • 2018 Over $100 Million
    • 2019 Over $100 Million

So if they wanted to get a deal done for Josh Norman they can.

  85. Couch Fan Says:

NFL Network isnt painting a pretty picture about Norman. Saying he might of been a locker room distraction if he didnt get paid. Would explain why they cut him like they did if they didnt think he was worth the headache. Not sure I would take a chance on that kind of guy. Especially not with a young team like ours.

  86. GhostofSchiano Says:

    $ighn Norman…………NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  87. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    DB55

    lol Yep

  88. Deminion Says:

    Cut verner and sackless George..

  89. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    DB55

Except, at least we don’t have to give up any draft compensation.

  90. Deminion Says:

since ive been on JBF @LUVMYBUCS is a go to cap guru… im not being sarcastic either

  91. Buc1987 Says:

Don’t trade too far up for Ramsey. I’m FSU and all, but if the price is too much I’d much rather them move down then up.

Ramsey might cause me to have an orgasm on draft day.

    Ramsey.

  92. Brad Says:

Panther rescind tag on Josh Norman making him a FA now!! We better send tons of Cash his way!!!!

  93. Todd Says:

Sign Norman you stupid idiots at one buc!

  94. BUC IT Says:

We have seen time and time again that giving picks away almost always is a bad decision. QB really is the only reason to do it unless the price is very cheap. I would really like Ramsey but I will take Buckner or Bosa as well. The best decision would be to trade down and add a 2nd rounder and then also trade glennon for a 2nd/3rd rounder. We have a group of cornerstone players and we still hopefully will get lucky this draft but we really just need extra picks to plug holes with quality players.

  95. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Dominion

Lol, thanks man – I think

  96. Buc1987 Says:

Deminion…Luv’s one of our resident statistician’s. Tickrdr’s the other one.

Not too many sites have what we got….lol they should be jealous.

Just having Realist alone they should be jealous!

  97. COREYATX Says:

Unrelated, Pathers just pulled the Franchise Tag. Josh Norman is an UFA!!!

  98. Guzzie Says:

Cut Verner and his 6.5 million and then sign Norman but front load the contract $42 million guaranteed that’s $14 million per year for 3 years, bam defense fixed gives an elite corner for the next 3 years, then we can cut him when JW extension is due

  99. Newbucsfan2 Says:

Weed ain’t so bad…could be much worse! Hardy etc….

  100. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Extension/Restructure Contracts

    • Alterraun Verner $6,750,000 (Convert $ $4,750,000 into signing bonus)

    = $14,527,778

You spread the converted signing bonuses out – over a period of 4yrs

Moving down to #4 not expensive. Would cost 1 of the 2 6th round picks and MG8. A fifth if Jerry hoses us.

  102. Guzzie Says:

Heck cut vjax $12 million contract and Verner $6.5 give it all to josh, sign Roddy White then draft a WR early, we can easily find a WR in the draft that could replace vjax, getting a top 5 corner instead of paying a diminished old WR makes a lot of sense, Roddy can plug right in and give the same if not more production than vjax

  103. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Buc1987

    Thanks

But lets not forget I did play ball from the age of 6 to 24.
Coached Pop Warner for over 8yrs,
High school Defensive Back coach for 2yrs.

    So I’m not just a proud statistician..lol

Where the hell is Tickrdr by the way.

  104. Todd Says:

Just sign josh Norman now man now then we can draft a de and the defense will be so much better

  105. Buc1987 Says:

    Everyone’s drooling over Norman now…

  106. COREYATX Says:

How much cap space do we have left?

  107. Todd Says:

If I’m McCoy, David and Jackson I call Jason and say hey let’s sign josh Norman I take a small cut in pay if we do

  108. Todd Says:

16 million 230 k in cap space right now

  109. Biggun Says:

Get Josh Norman now now now now now now then let’s get his brother out of the Arena Football League Marrio’s even better then Josh….. shutdown corner and if you’re such a thing as shutdown linebacker put these two together on the same team hell to pay for all opponents I know Josh personally watch him and his brother play at CCU

  110. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Sign

DE-Greg Hardy (On a Super Cheap High Incentive Deal)
    CB- Josh Norm

    Lets D throne Carolina

Side Bar: I expect Greg Hardy to be on his behavior. Might be his last chance in the league.

  111. Biggun Says:

Nothing better than signing a division opponents star that they can’t afford how sweet this would be get Josh now whatever it takes get Josh now can give us all the inside info on Carolina

  112. Newbucsfan2 Says:

Josh and Johnny are bff’s…just saying.
Florida would be a good place for Josh.
    New start!
    Go bucs!!

  113. DB55 Says:

On second thought why spend 15mil on a 29yo CB who just became a starter last year and is a problem child. We did sign Josh Robinson after all and can draft the midget from gator land. I’m positive that will make Cam, Drew and Matt chit their pants.

  114. LUVMYBUCS Says:

“The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend”

    *Sign
    • DE-Greg Hardy
    • CB -Josh Norman

  115. DB55 Says:

Simmer down Luv you gonna make GMC ask for a trade. “There’s too many mean guys on this team and everyone want to win. I miss the odd days when we were just here to have fun and laugh. I’m scared, please trade me.”

  116. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    DB55

    Lol –

*Tell my guy GMAC to sit back and relax – Play some Mobb Deep – Shook One

  117. unbelievable Says:

    LOL @ DB55!

Everyone drooling over Norman. He had an incredible season last year, is 30 yrs old, but was never a starter before that. How much is he really worth?

Get consistent pressure up front and I think every DB on this team will look vastly improved.

  118. MadMax Says:

Josh Norman NOW…..Holy jit, I just woke up and I’ll tell you, he will play hard as crap against his old team for this. At least get this move done. It frees up DE and WR for our draft needs.

  119. unbelievable Says:

“Play some Mobb Deep” – YES.

  120. Lord Cornelius Says:

Josh Norman is neither 29 or 30 according to google. He’s 28.

Lot of red flags to giving a guy like that money though:
-Last year was the only year in his career he started all 16 games
-Last year was the only year in his career he had that type of production
-He played on one of the best defenses in the NFL with an amazing front 7

I’m fine if we go for it but would prefer a year-to-year deal given his history. But who knows maybe he’s in his prime and ready to keep rolling as a probowler for another 4-5 years aka Brent Grimes style.

  121. unbelievable Says:

    @Lord, that’s what I’m saying.

Although being 28 vs 30 is a big difference in the NFL.

  122. DB55 Says:

It’s too late now anyway, apparently he already received calls from 4 teams and there always the Patriots who somehow (Brady) get every disgruntled tier 1 FA in the league. It would have been nice though.

  123. j$mac Says:

I’m definitely thinking we may make a draft day trade to boost another potential LA market to get Ramsey. He’s all we need and we can trade Glennon to the chargers as well or even the Cowboys. We need to move up for Ramsey once the first pick is made. I think the Cowboys want to draft Derek Henry and the Chargers want Myles Jack to complete their front seven. We can’t let Ramsey go to the Jaguars.

  124. Brad Says:

Lord, he’s in our division. You should know he’s been that good for 2 years now at least. Or maybe you just look at stats and don’t watch the games. The best CB in the NFL isn’t about to sign a year to year deal. He’s unrestricted. That never happens unless the Bucs cut Revis

  125. unbelievable Says:

He had a pretty good 2014 too.

Honestly I see a team like the Rams, Raiders, or Pats signing him

  126. finishers Says:

He wants 16 million a year with 40 million in guaranteed money!F**k that!

  127. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Just think for moment ..

How much can Josh Norman improve the play of…

    *Young
    QB – Jameis Winston
WR- Mike Evans (Epic practice battles)

  128. Todd Says:

    Why can’t we pay him
16 per year we got nobody to sign that any good
For at least three more years!

  129. USFBUC Says:

I’m a little because of dinner but screw trading up lets get Norman!!!

  130. Todd Says:

Screw the pats, Rams or raiders signing him get him bucs!!!

  131. Kevin Schmidt Says:

I’d rather have Ramsey and Spence as my first two picks. Lets see what else comes out of the woodwork on Norman. Seemed like a real tool when I watched an NFL network sit-down with him. Weird dude. I dunno…

  132. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Kevin Schmidt

    YEAH!!!! I like the idea!!!!!

  134. DB55 Says:

Here’s a little nugget for those of you wondering why we should trade up for Ramsey. It seemed obvious to me but here’s some science biiitch

    http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=15279066

  135. Dave Says:

    NO NO NO
    do not trade up.
DE is deep. Trade back, take Lawson or Dodd and get another 3rd.
Then they can snag a WR and a S and another DE

    AND SIGN JOSH NORMAN!

  136. Newbucsfan2 Says:

    Ramsey!!!
