Bowers Stays With Bucs?

April 7th, 2016
Return? Again?

Return? Again?

If the following is true, then defensive lineman Da’Quan Bowers truly is a cat with nine lives.

Per his Instagram feed, it appears Bowers will return to the Bucs for training camp (at least). Joe will let Bowers’ Instagram post speak for itself.

Joe has not been able to confirm with Bucs sources Bowers’ Instagram post is accurate.

UPDATE 12:04: Joe is hearing from a Bucs source that Bowers’ Instagram post is inaccurate.

šŸ™šŸ½blessed I am. Humble I will remain. Grateful I will FORVER be!

Thuogh it doesn’t show on this embedded post, on the Instagram mobile app, the location for Bowers’ post isĀ “One Buc Place.”

He’s a good dude just not having the impact he wants, hope he somehow finds a way to be the prospect people thought he could be

  2. Joe Says:

    Heā€™s a good dude

Bowers is a really good dude. One of the best Joe has worked with. Joe tries to put that aside and focus solely on football production. There, Bowers has been, well, underwhelming.

  3. LifeOfABucFan Says:

I just got his tweet and I didnt understand if it meant he’s staying.

We will see the true powers of Jay Hayes

We will see the true powers of Jay Hayes

    Very good point.

  6. Joe Says:

FYI, not hearing this is true.

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Are we sure this wasn’t dated April 1st?

If not, perhaps Dominick was brilliant with this draft pick…..Maybe Myron returns too!!!

  8. buc4life1979 Says:

If Koetter could figure out an actual good use for devin hester on offense, Mike Smith should be the guy that finally helps Bowers become useful on defense for the Bucs.

  9. LUVMYBUCS Says:

I hear Santana Dotson’s been working out – and trying to make comeback.

  10. The Buc Realist Says:

Question is, if he makes the roster, Will Joe right the wrong and revise his Top 20 worst Buccaneers of the past 10 years?????

  12. LifeOfABucFan Says:

I wonder if that post didn’t mean that he got a contract with the Chiefs and is grateful to the Bucs..

  13. Joe Says:

    “Humble I will remain”

Last time Bowers put something out on Instagram like this, he was re-signed. Again, Joe’s hearing this Instagram post is inaccurate. And to be bluntly honest, hard to believe Joe would be conned by someone he trusts over there over Bowers.

    lol

  15. Dave Says:

    JOE-
Any rumor of interest in S Donte Witner?

  16. Buc1987 Says:

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

    “FORVER be!” ??? Pissssh athletes.

  17. Pick6 Says:

good enough for the 90 man roster, not so much for a healthy 53. he might get invited back to camp to add competitive depth AND to serve as a cautionary tale for the DE(s) that we select in the first 2 days of the draft

  18. DallasBuc Says:

He really does seem like a good dude. Too bad his play never matched his hype. A whole lot of vanquished careers were pegged to that guy’s production. We may never have seen the likes of incompetent Lovie Smith if Bower’s lived up to his billing.

  19. Buccfan37 Says:

Bower’s must have a leprechaun sitting on his shoulder.

  21. JAB83 Says:

Well…. It would not be the worst move if the brought him back…

I am convinced the coaching has been so bad on this team that. Former pro bowlers, all pros and eventual HOFers would look pedestrian (at best) and be benched or shipped off the team for nothing in return!!!!!!! So no doubt a serviceable decent young player would never stand a chance….

This says a die hard FAN, that will by into whatever the coach of the day is selling and do his best to support them to the bitter end… Peace out Lovie… NOW that your gone I can say this… YOU SUCK…. Sorry been holding that back for a while and will be so disappointed to see another Mark Barron, Michael Bennett or Revies situation go down right off the bat with the new coaching staff…

Wait till next year to evaluate the true abilities of this D… They are super talented!!!!!!

  22. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I’m pretty sure he’s got some very incriminating pictures of the Glazers. That’s the only explanation if true.

  23. Another J Says:

Iā€™m pretty sure heā€™s got some very incriminating pictures of the Glazers. Thatā€™s the only explanation if true.

That’s the only logical explanation. They must be some damn good pics too!

  24. BigPoppaBuc Says:

I remember when he was the “steal of the draft” and our DE issues were solved. It was supposed to be McCoy, Price, Bowers and AC. And here we are with another top ten pick.

  25. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Bowers is like MRSA…we can’t get rid of him…

btw…just because he may have posted FROM One Buc Place, that doesn’t mean he was signing a contract. He could have been feeling blessed to have so many good friends around him.

This was media reading into a simple post.

  26. CrustyCrab Says:

Did @Joe just have a Big Dawg moment “And to be bluntly honest, hard to believe Joe would be conned by someone he trusts over there over Bowers”

    I’m totally shocked

  27. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Love your post JAB83…your entire post should be biblical, it’s so spot on…

  28. mike johnson Says:

Well Buc fans you wanted a new coach? We got ourselves a new coach. Out with old and in with new. I’ve accepted that. However, with the new regime..its time to cut away a lot of the old cancer too (meaning non-productive players.) I’ve not changed my theme on that. And Bowers..has gotta go fishing. His injuries are just not going to allow him to get to that NFl level. He’s part of the Bucs..dead weight cancer people! As is a lot of the old secondary you fans still believe in. They..gotta go too! All I gotsta say..bout this.

  29. JAB83 Says:

MJ…. I mean Fan of Depression… O almost agree with you but its still to depressing of a comment for me.to accept…

I believe in the idea of continuity of a team… The ownership deserves blame for the past coaching carasel bit I believe that is because they knew what they wanted and DK fits the bill to the T!!!!!! He is what they wanted when they traded for Gruden… Grudens down fall was not letting Rich McKay do what he needed to do…

DK and JL are the dram team they had invissioned with JG and RM!!!!

DK will be here for his intire contract to be sure…

That said, no reason to start cutting fat before your current staff has a chance to evaluate….

That’s why this draft will feature another Offensive slanted stock

Buy a guitar tuner and go away.

  31. Biggun Says:

He started coaching High School football at North Myrtle Beach High School in South Carolina this past season…. I live in the area from my understanding got a one-year deal with the Bucs…

  32. Capt. Tim Says:

I just cant stop hoping this guy shows the skill level he had in college.
Hes such a good guy. Think that knee is never gonna let him reach his potential.

I,for one, will still keep rooting for him.
Just hard for me to give up on a good person.

  33. mike johnson Says:

Joe says Bowers is a good guy. I believe that. But I know a lot of good guys who have finished last. If Bowers wants to be a good guy? Go open up a daycare. Or..join Barnum Bailey and make people laugh. Those are nice occupations. This is the NFl. And Bowers has not proven he can tear into somebody’s A.. on the football field. Time to..Drop Mr. Bowers like a bad habit and move on.

  34. godzilla13 Says:

Bowers sucks. Bad draft pick out of Clemson. No more thumpers and you know what I mean. The guy has never shown up in shape and has never been the player he could have been. Big disappointment. Nice guys finish last.
