More insight into Jameis from Dirk Koetter

Joe loves nuggets and insight into the mind of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

Dirk Koetter revealed one such morsel at the NFC Coaches Breakfast last week.

“‘What do you mean I’m only playing one quarter?'” Koetter said Jameis would ask in frustration. “You know, that drove Jameis crazy playing one quarter of a game. He wanted to play the whole game in preseason.”

That’s pretty cool. A 21-year-old rookie is jacked up because he won’t be allowed to finish a meaningless game, likely the preseason opener when starters routinely only play about a quarter.

That tells Joe three things: Jameis had no nerves about his NFL debut, can’t turn off his competitive juices and, like most fans, paid little attention to the NFL preseason.

bring on the trade and the Draft! Please!

  2. Bryan Says:

I thought GMC being a candy arse drove Jameis crazy. I guess he has more than one pet peeve.

Survey says: correct for 300 points Joe.

  4. BigHogHaynes Says:

If you can’t name 7 players better than (GMC) at his position, then keep quit and say GO BUCS!

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Now…I finally agree with Joe…..the preseason game is a meaningless game……no others are.

  6. Kevin Says:

    Shut up Bryan

    What Kevin and BigHogHaynes said.

Am i the only one who thinks Jameis comes across just a touch like Oswald Bates. Youtube it you’ll see what i mean. Absolutely love the guy. I kid because i care.

  9. Chromolly Says:

    Big fame!

  10. ndog Says:

    Big dog : 1 Short, 2 Atkins, 3 Donald, 4 Darius, 5 Suh, 6 S Richardson,
7 M Jackson. This is 7 that are equal to or better than McCoy and there are probably 4 others that are in the ballpark.

    ^^^^
And not one of them have more sacks since 2012 than gmc. Smh

  12. ndog Says:

And it has not been and never will be all about sacks. That is the problem with our fans base, we look at numbers and say wow he must be great. Watch the freaking games man!

  13. ndog Says:

And to be clear I am not a “McCoy hater” I just know what a great player looks like and so far McCoy has not been one. I hope each year for him to be but it has not happened yet.

  14. Dylan Says:

Ndog was preaching. Until you said your waiting for gmc to be a great player. He is great man. He’s all pro. Idk about hall of fame but he is all pro and that is way better then someone say like Brian price that we drafted. He would have made even more on the open market. m Jackson is no where close to McCoy man. The other 6 yes. Fletcher cox should have been the last name

  15. Dougy balls Says:

I watch the games. I watch gmc get double teamed even when he is hurt. I listen to other teams coaches and players say how they have to game plan for him. Tired of every gmc hater expecting him to be the next Reggie white. And with this years FA market we have to learn that he is underpaid now. Now let’s get him some help and he might meet your expectations of 30 sacks ( sarcasm for that last part ). And ya sacks are not everything. Listen to the pros like coaches and players from other teams who say he is disruptive

  16. Dougy balls Says:

And ndog. Atkins and Donald I would put ahead of him to be clear. But what a shame we have a top 5 DT

  17. Danati74 Says:

Well to be fair all these DTs came out different years, so it’s not like they were 7 DTs all waiting to be drafted and The Bucs said oh,..he has a nice Smile. McCoy we picked right after Sue. You like him you don’t….he is on our team. You wish him to be the best and that he is on top of his game. At the time of McCoy was being drafted he was a Top 5 talent coming out that year. Score 1 for Rock-boy. I prefer him to stay put and we get some damn help for him!

    ndog Says
“And it has not been and never will be all about sacks.”

Bullspit. That is an excuse people use to make averag players look better. It is ALL about the sacks. If GMC gets 14 sacks, you can bet he is being disruptive.

  19. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

AND…if he got 14 sacks, you would be singing his praises.

  20. bucs4life86 Says:

It’s not “all about the same sacks” even tho he is usually has the most sacks by a DT every year! If he isn’t he is always top three and that’s with one of the weakest lines in the NFL.

The three technique is about disruption not sacks. And he is one of the best disrupters in the game when HEALTHY. If he’s not in the backfield every single play u ppl aren’t satisfied.

It’s sad that some of u don’t realize what u have in one of the games best players at DT.

My favorite quote. “You don’t realize what u got until it’s gone”

  21. d-roca Says:

    Bucs4life.
Exactly. Put some other guys on the line that require a double team for once and gmc will blow up. Lets get rankins next to him then draft a cpl de’s in 2,3, or 4

  22. 813bucboi Says:

I agree with ndog…gmc is top ten at his position but not top 5…Donald, darius, suh, atkins, wilkerson, s.richarson, d.poe and short(in no particular order)…the thing that gmc lacks compared to the names I mentioned is that killer instinct…as we’ve seen many of times in pre game clips, gmc just wants to have fun and play with a big smile on his face…GO BUCS!!!
