Ride With The Rookies

March 19th, 2016
Hanging at a Magic game.

Chillin’ at a Magic game.

Want to hang with America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, Donovan Smith and Ali Marpet on the way to Orlando?

Well, Joe can’t do that for you but Joe brings the next best thing.

The trio of rookies (if their second season hasn’t started yet, are they still rookies?) went to an Orlando Magic game last night and decided to Periscope a few minutes of their ride, and interact with fans, answering questions.

Among the things Joe learned and heard while the three rode in an chauffeured-SUV paid for by Jameis were:

* Marpet is not yet on Twitter. Donovan Smith: “I’m trying to tell Ali to get a Twitter.”

* Jameis confessed, “I’m not really good at social media.” When a fan asked him to unblock him on Twitter, Jameis replied, “If I blocked you it is for a reason.”

* At one point, a viewer (you can view the questions in the left margin of the video linked above) called Jameis “Crab Legs,” and he busted out laughing.

* A woman (?) claimed to be Marpet’s ex-girlfriend which prompted Smith to exclaim, “Ex-girlfriend? Be careful, bro.”

* Jameis on Marpet: “That’s my white dude. My man, my right hand man.”

* The three broke out laughing when a viewer pleaded with Jameis to quit blocking on running plays. Both Smith and Marpet agreed.

* Marpet was asked who is the toughest defensive tackle to block. He quickly replied Aaron Donald. When a viewer asked Marpet how much he could bench, Marpet quipped, “More than you!”

* Smith has a Knicks tattoo.

There’s a lot more cool stuff in the video, so go ahead and enjoy on this lazy Saturday morning. The trio really came across as really good guys you’d like to hang with even if they were not NFL players.

Hope you guys enjoyed your night here in the “O”. We apologize for the Magic coming up a little short last night. Now I have a better understanding as to why Oladipo went inn last night dropping 45pts. He must’ve knew Famous was in the building.

Im not sure if that was last night’s game, I know they attended the Warriors vs. MAGIC game. could of been that one. Oladipo was man on a mission last night, to bad he couldn’t get any help from his teamates.

Really thought this was gonna be the season the magic would break through and finish above .500. They have a young and talented team just can’t seem to pull it all together. Looks like they are gonna spend some $ on a free agent this summer to help em out. Word is there gonna pursue former gator Chandler Parsons.

Dwight Howard really screwed this franchise over. We have sucked every since he abandoned us. He pretty much sucks ever since too. Lol. That’s what he deserves.

I heard this comment and observation made at a recent local golf tournament that Winston was in – that he looked slimmer. Pictures can be deceiving, but does Jameis look slimmer? Just an observation!

86 I agree and Bighog I just texts my big brothers saying that exact same thing. They will always protect him wit all they have because he’s making best friends out of them. Super smart as hell.

Jamies is my black dude…. I love his attitude and style…. Takes me back to when I was a kid and role models influenced me and help mold me into who I am today….

Hope the kids in Tampa are paying attention and JW stays outta the crap this world will surely try to drag you into!!!! Good stuff Sloppy Joes good stuff

  10. Hawaiian Buc Says:

What’s really cool about this is our top 3 picks from last year’s draft are all in Tampa and all hanging out together, in the offseason no less. That really isn’t very common.

  11. Mike Johnson Says:

Really great to hear these guys used their heads and did not drive to the game. I can imagine they had big fun and probably..knocked back a few drinks…or not. But you can really have fun when somebody else is doing the driving. Now if only the Magic can come up and win some games…

  12. Strider ....Sec 147 Says:

  13. Cannon Says:

Jameis rolls with his body guards on game day and on his personal time :o)

  14. cmurda Says:

Big fans of all three. Marpet is my white dude too. And Donovan and Jameis are my black dudes. Love em all. Now, get the trio to attend a Bolts game. Maybe they can help break them out of this funk the Lightning are in.

  15. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Is it just me..or do our players seem like they are in such good spirits lately?..

  16. BucsQcCity Says:

    I need a Marpet jersey

JR Sweezy is going to fit right in with these guys. There ain’t nothing like building up relationships and chemistry between offensive linemen and their QB. Where is Roddy?
