Cooking With Miko

The secret to Brent Grimes' longevity.

The secret to Brent Grimes’ longevity.

Usually, NFL players going on 33-years old are not playing their best football. That’s not exactly the case with new Bucs corner Brent Grimes.

Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht opened today’s presser to introduce Grimes as the newest Bucs defender saying Grimes likely played his best football the past few years in Miami.

When asked about why it is Grimes has been able to cheat Father Time, Grimes said the secret is cooking prepared by his wife Miko.

Grimes said he rarely ate any greens or vegetables of any sort until he met Miko and she prepared meals for him. Squash is one of his favorites.

“Oh, and I like asparagus,” Grimes said. “Food is the key.”

There you have it. The secret to success in the NFL: squash and asparagus.

Hey, if it works for Grimes, maybe the Bucs might want to hire Miko to be the team’s nutritionist?

There is a lot of truth to this. I saw this flick on Netflix called Hungry for Change. The jist of it is basically this topic here. I started eating mostly whole foods, plant based meals. I cannot and will not give up meat but since I started eating like Grimes does, my energy is through the roof. Miko knows how to cook for her man!

Clodhopper…more veggies than meat. That’s my new diet I’ve been on for the past 3 weeks and it seems to be working like magic. Not sure if that’s what’s kept me healthier but it seems to work.

Guys, it’s all about calories in vs. calories out. It is simple science. Eating clean and healthy is all fine and dandy but if you’re eating at a caloric surplus, you will gain weight and feel sluggish. If you are eating at or slightly below your AMR, you will maintain or lose weight and feel a bit better.

As for meat or not to meat, one must eat meat if they plan on playing sports or frequenting the gym and getting results. A person CANNOT get the results they desire from a diet void of meat. Red meat is not unhealthy or dangerous, especially when it is lean red meat. What is unhealthy and dangerous is higher calorie foods that cause us to gain weight.

Most people can substitute for meat in their diet and remain healthy. Zucchini and yellow squash are both GMO.
