“Scramble. Do Something!”

Jameis shares his teachings

Plenty of evidence suggests the Bucs will have a more aggressive offense now that Dirk Koetter is the true commander-in-chief.

Remember this broken play touchdown pass to Charles Sims last year? It was a byproduct of the Koetter mentality, said America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

“It’s a product of what we do in practice,” Jameis told the Buccaneers Radio Network. “You know, sometimes plays break at practice and sometimes, I’ve got yelled at early in the year by Coach Koetter, ‘Jameis, continue the play. Scramble. Do something!’

“I’m just like, ‘It’s practice. I mean, what are we going to do? We can’t do anything against the defense.’ So he makes me scramble around and guys got to get open, and it worked.”

Jameis went on to say Koetter is all about preaching explosiveness.

Jameis’ comments came before Lovie Smith was fired. Since then, Koetter talked about the likelihood of being more aggressive now that he’s calling the shots at all critical points.

And fun loving, new offensive coordinator Todd Monken couldn’t stop talking about big plays and lighting up the passing game when he was introduced last month.

This could get really fun if Bucs general manager Jason Licht enters free agency and the draft hungry to make his offense the best in the NFL.

    Wait, did Koetter get fired?

One of Koetter’s pressers he stressed the need to test, i.e. stretch, a rookie QB .
Gotta love that. Outside of Martin, he’s bring back a near intact unit. A youthful one at that.

Add a WR to stretch the field, use Vjax underneath, get ASJ going, spread the field more and mix in some up tempo. But this means keeping the running game intact to set the table.

Lets hope Koetter isn’t fired anytime soon…we got something good going here. Put down the cold beers during work hours Joe!!!

I was thinking the thing that happened back when dungy took over the bucs is happening think about it in 93 we get jhon Lynch 95 we got brooks and sapp
Same think this time but in a different order 2012 we get Doug 2014 we get mike and last year we got Jameis the same thing that happened in the 90s with the defense is happen right now with the O

This is BS. We need a Buc Ball offense! Two hand-offs and an incomplete pass.

I just hope the Bucs offense is more entertaining than either of the Super Bowl teams!!! Yeah Denver has a great defense but they’re not that freaking good.

Cam came back to earth and Wade Phillips exposed Mike Shula.

I have more faith in Koetter than Shula but that’s because of seeing them both in Tampa. Not fair since Shula was just starting and “learning” while Koetter arrived here already at the top of his game.

The pieces are in place for our O…but I think we have just a “good” oline..time to make it great!

As we saw in the playoffs…Defense wins championships. Let’s hope Smitty boosts us there!

  8. Luther Says:

Wade Philips didn’t expose Mike Shula. More likely, Vonn Miller exposed Carolina’s O-Line and Cam soon followed. A good pass rush will help solve a lot of ills with our defense. It’s the main reason the Giants have been good for so long.

Wait a minute you guys are still talking offense when clearly the Bucs just spent the last 2 years on offense and everyone knows defense wins championships in the playoffs. Lets stop the BS and get this defense in order your precious Jameis will still be here.
