Lovie Firing A “Lost Dream”

January 7th, 2016
lovie and licht

Former Bucs football overlord Lovie Smith’s hiring of Jason Licht was one of the few decisions that worked out.

It seems like only yesterday that the vast majority of Bucs fans were giddy with glee, thinking Team Glazer had successfully stepped back into the future for the reincarnation of Father Dungy with the hiring of Lovie Smith.

And football overlord Lovie, in turn, brought in Jason Licht to oversee the front office element of his operations.

Now, two years later, that concept of Lovie leading the Bucs to the promised land lays shattered. In a TBO.com video with Olivia Stacey, Bucs beat writer for The Tampa Tribune, Woody Cummings, gives a detailed analysis on what went wrong.

“Now they [Team Glazer and Jason Licht] realize that dream is not going to happen,” Cummings said. “It is part of a lost dream. [Lovie and Licht] thought they could turn this around. That’s not going to happen.

“If [Licht detailed all the mistakes Lovie had made], we would be here for another hour. I don’t think the Glazers are comfortable with all the power that he had but they are comfortable if it is working out.”

Joe thought about this this afternoon, and outside of Lovie’s hiring of Licht and Dirk Koetter, and his handing of Jameis Winston’s near perfect transition to the NFL, Joe can’t think of anything that Lovie did right. Not one thing. Everything else blew up in his face, terribly so.

How anyone (Joe won’t name names because they are out there) can suggest that there was no justification for firing Lovie, these folks must live in a sheltered world where rank mismanagement is tolerated if not excused.

Team Glazer does not live in such a universe.

    Everybody tried….Lovie’s low energy, poor decision making and false pride did him in in the end. Sad…but time to move on.

    Lmao what a sh it hole of an organization lmao

    How pathetic these owners and fans are lol

    Such a pathetic pathetic orginazation

    You losers will be crying and running the next coach out of town after next season lol

  6. Kalind Says:

    Is said it LAST YEAR. Dude should never have been hired. Wrong type of coach at the wrong time. The Jeb Bush of head coaches. Good a long time ago, but policies and ideas are old and outdated.

    We need innovators. On offense and SERIOUSLY on Defense. How about we try disguising coverages, and other defensive trickery? Am I crazy? I don’t love the idea of Drew Brees walking to the line smirking saying “I know exactly what I’m looking at.” And being right.

  7. Matts17 Says:

    Proud to say I wasn’t one of those in the “vast majority”. Bad hire period.

  8. Danati74 Says:

    Even if fans think we should have gave Lovie one more year,..do you think he would have succeeded? Maybe Joe should put a poll up here asking that very same question. I for one doesn’t believe he would have succeeded. So why give him one more year? One more year wasted. Too many issues with clock management. Penalties. FreeAgency. Stubbornness. Coaches don’t have that long to make a turn around anymore. Hope him the best, but it’s time to move on. All we can do as fans is hope Jason make the right choice for HC. 3 coaches fired in 5 years is a big deal, but none of the coaches I liked. I did like Lovie at first, but after time went on…I stopped watching Buc ball…and that sucks as a true fan

  9. bucrightoff Says:

    Why are people acting like we deserved to be considered above the Browns? Bucs have the 2nd worst winning percentage in league history. As a wise man once said “Know your place”. People realize this is one of the worst franchises in sports history right?

    But we’re still in better shape than the Browns. They’ll be hiring a college coordinator, the Bucs will be able to pick and choose their coach. Coaches want Winston as their QB.

  10. OneLove Says:

    “Team Glazer does not live in such a universe.”

    This is exactly why we are consistently at the bottom of the NFC South!

  11. Joe Says:

    welcome to cleveland browns south

    Last Joe checked, the Glazers have been in charge when the Bucs won a Lombardi Trophy.

    When have the Browns played in a Super Bowl?

  12. orlbucfan Says:

    Well, well, well, who hired Lovie to start with? The Glazer Boys. What a rich joke. At least, we have Koetter. Licht? Whatever. Give the team to Koetter and let him hire the DC. This team has got to have SOME STABILITY!! Upchucky, Morris, Schiano, Lovie all gone in what, the last 8 seasons?! You have got to be kidding me!!

  13. orlbucfan Says:

    Hey Joe,
    Malcolm Glazer was still alive and kicking when we won the SB with Upchucky and Dungy’s team. No, don’t bring Upchucky the egobozo back!

  14. Bucballya Says:

    The Glazers handpicked Lovie, so they only have themselves to blame. Lovie drafted virtually all offense (with great success) to help the offense,and now he is burned by the defense (and lack of drafted defenders). The Bucs do look like the Browns right now. If the Bucs hire Dirk, it would make more sense, otherwise it is simply embarrassing that our owners are stinking this team up!

  15. Mike Johnsom Says:

    I’ve said in previous postings..Be careful what you wish for Bucs fans. Well, you got it! And you will get Koetter as a HC. And you will again give him 2 or 3 yrs. Then fire him and start all over again. Its like that SCi-fi Movie where tom cruise keeps repeating the same scene over and over again. I feel sorry for my fellow Buc Fans. Lovie was building a team. it may have taken him 4 yrs or so. But we were going to be winners. You want instant gratification aye? Well WE are the Clevland Browns of the south. Perpetual Losers. Look for a below 500 season for the next couple yrs..despite Famous jameis

  16. Joe Says:

    Malcolm Glazer was still alive and kicking when we won the SB

    It was Joel who swung the trade for Chucky. Al Davis talked about it at the time.

  17. The Buc Realist Says:

    Admit your mistake and move on, And that is what happened here!!!

    But the Tampa2 mafia will be making a lot of noise of how wrong this was, they will use their media mouth pieces to convey their messages!!!

  18. AceofAerospace Says:

    I trust Licht to make a good hire.

  19. Buccfan37 Says:

    All things must pass away. No hard feelings here Lovie.

  20. Jbeachbuc Says:

    … And ALL the atrocious on-field behavior by his players surely didn’t help his cause.
    Week after week after week after week. Absolutely embarrassing!

  21. "TheKevin" Says:

    Lmao the bumbling bucs

    One of the worst franchises in all of sports lol

    It’s hilarious

    there is a reason the bucs ALWAYS SUCK.

    For you idiot new fans do a little research on this dumpster fire of an organization.

  22. The Rockstar Says:

    I think Jameis is the litmus test……. “The ‘why’ has to change around here”…..

    That’s something the Head Coach should have been saying.

    Jameis Winston has to be happy and confident with the ownership. And at that last presser he was pissed.

    Will Jameis be interested in resigning with a Tampa Bay Browns type team in a few years?

  23. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Joe thought about this this afternoon, and outside of Lovie’s hiring of Licht, and his handing of Jameis Winston’s near perfect transition to the NFL, Joe can’t think of anything that Lovie did right. Not one thing. Everything else blew up in his face, terribly so.

    Joe…I think you missed an obvious one…..He hired or help to hire Koetter…..his possible replacement….

  24. Lamdog Says:

    Sorry Browns of the NFC-South is inaccurate. We are looking at the Raiders of the NFC-South.

    Don’t cry for Lovie $10 mill is a nice comforter.

    Don’t cry for future coaches they will be getting paid.

    Do cry for the fans.

    Do cry for Jameis until traded to Washington and wins a Super Bowl and inducted into Tampa Ring Of Honor.

    I cannot see a scenario where into years, whoever coach is gone.

    I never thought I would write this: Glazers you can learn a lesson from Cincinnati. Marvin Lewis should have been fired 6 years ago, patients.

    Licht: You realize you are on the clock.

    HE AINT GOING NO WHERE BABY!!!!!

    Will you come back in here if and when he gets fired and admit that you were wrong?

    I’ll tell ya one thing I hope you’re right, because if you are then that means our Bucs are headed in the right direction.

  27. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    It The Kevin doesn’t like it, you know it’s a good thing.

    I love how worked up he is. Thanks for chuckle, chuckles.

  28. "TheKevin" Says:

    The joes and everyone else will be running the next coach out of town in 2 years.

    How pathetic this team is as well as fans and the like.

    Simply pathetic.

    These owners and fans don’t deserve a winning team. Sucked always and will continue to suck lol

  29. "TheKevin" Says:

    @loveand Warwick Dunn

    I’m not worked up. I think its hilarious I’m laughing my as s off at this pathetic franchise lmao.

  30. Buc1987 Says:

    The “Kevin”…care to place a wager?

    I wager that Lovie never works in the NFL again in any capacity…

    What say you?

  31. Buc1987 Says:

    In fact Schiano has a better shot than Lovie.

  32. ATrain Says:

    Can’t wait to see what Team Runs to get the Great Lovie to coach…With So many teams needing a Coach, I’m sure Lovie won’t be in the basement….

    Ha-ha Right..

    Just like his persona “Kevin” he is a loser full of EXCUSES…

    Action in this league Kevin not EXCUSES….

    8-24 and you expect him to keep a job…He let a Rookie first Game QB eat his Defense up….Remember Mariota. Ha-ha Guru

  33. "TheKevin" Says:

    @buc1987

    Who cares. The bucs are the bucs. Except for about 5 seasons they have been terrible forever lol

    You idiots will be crying and running the next coach out of town after next season. Lol look at the schedule lmao.

  34. Don Says:

    Oh boy what a day, it feels like Christmas over again.

    While listening to 620 today I heard a caller say that per FL hiring rules the bucs don’t have to grant permission to any team to interview Koetter or let him go because there is no head coach under contract. The caller speculates that bucs can now hold onto Koetter and hire any HC they want without having to worry about being forced to give him the HC position or allowing him to interview elsewhere. In other words firing lovie gave them time to interview other HCs without worrying about losing koetter. I wonder if this is accurate, if so, much props to Koetter for working the system.

  35. Soggy Says:

    You know what is funny Glennon lasted longer than lovie now thats funny…

  36. "TheKevin" Says:

    @atrain

    You know you’re talking about the bucs right?

    Lmao “action blah blah in this league lol”

    What you gonna say after next season genuis? Lmao how hilarious.

  37. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    @Kevin

    Whatever you say Ace. You make me laugh, regardless.

  38. "TheKevin" Says:

    @atrain

    You talking like this is a winning orginazation built on winning playoffs and being great. Other than5 season this whole franchise is sh it lol

    Yet you talk like this orginazation is something to demand excellence from lmao

    You do realize ITS THE BUCS LOL

  39. Buccaneers Says:

    Right now this is ugly. Our team looks chaotic from a management standpoint. Forgive me if I cringe if Koetter gets announced. No offense Dirk but this team has shows a complete and absolute inability to hire a HC worth a salt.

    The only hire I can feel good about is somebody with a proven track record. Dirk is just a big fat question mark and given the Bucs history the chances of success seem slim.

    I have no faith this organization has any idea in scouting a rookie HC and am puzzled as to why he seems to be a shoe-in.

    If they make a mistake now any hire the wrong man this franchise will go into another tainspin which we are beginning to become famous for.

    Thanks for the disgust Buccaneers.

  40. "TheKevin" Says:

    @love and war rock Dunn

    Yea no comeback because you can’t deny the shi tness of this orginazation lol

    What a dumpster fire lmao

  41. SteveK Says:

    TheKevin,

    LOLOLOLOLOLOL

    Hail to the next coach, may the best man win the job.

    I can’t believe it’s real. I fell asleep early last night, and logging onto JoeBucsFan.com this morning, I nearly spit out my coffee. It felt like Christmas.

  42. SteveK Says:

    I hope Licht and his staff hit on a coach, as much as they have hit on the draft. This is an exciting move. Lovie would not relinquish power, and who could blame him, but it ultimately cost him his job. Who is to say that Lovie would not run rampant (again) for former Cowboys and Bears, in search of the next best thing. We sacrificed talent for prior knowledge of the scheme.

    This team just stunk out loud under his watch.

  43. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    Yawn. Why waste your time insulting. –Joe

  44. Buc1987 Says:

    SteveK…I of course was on site, like always when it happened. I jumped out of my desk chair.

  45. coasthopper Says:

    “anyone” would be walterfootball. Whos opinion on the bucs and just overall accuracy hasnt ment squat to me in long time. I dont think they really care enough about tampa bay in general to offer anything informative. Going by their past posts, Jameis should be practically living at Mons, and D. Smith will never cut it as a LT in the NFL.

  46. ATrain Says:

    Hey Kevin. You. DA

    Your not a football or Bucs Fan your a Lovie Train rider..

    Well now you can ride his train in the Basement…

    No matter what you say. That Loser is gone..

    Now Go pack his bags…

    I remember you said no matter what he was here for another year..WRONG

  47. "TheKevin" Says:

    @love and Warwick Dunn

    I was right when I said at 6-6 they wouldn’t win another game lol

    Remember when you morons were clamoring for playoffs lmao

    I said they wouldn’t win another one.

    You remeber during that 4 game skid where this offense only scored a td once in the first half?

    The same time on 3rd downs they were 30 percent lol. When Jameis struggled?

    I believe it was ol dirk calling those plays.

    The guy you are all praying for lmao. Idiots. SCORED ON ONE TD IN THE FIRST HALF IN 4 straight games lmao. Let that sink in genuis. Lol

  48. "TheKevin" Says:

    @atrain

    You’re right I thought he would get another year. I was wrong and not afraid to admit it in the least bit. You all got what you wished for now let’s sit back and see how bad next season gets and how soon you idiots are clamoring to run the next coach out of town. Lol because you will.

  49. "TheKevin" Says:

    The thing you all don’t get is. I don’t care who the coach is LOVIE or dirk or shiano or whoever. Just give them some time to build a team.

    I don’t care who they hire but changing coaches every 2 years is a sure fire way to keep losing. But losing is the bucs way. The only way they know

  50. Buccaneers Says:

    Kevin sure is acting like a jerk but a few of his points are valid. This team does look like they haven’t a clue. I’m watching sports center right now and they are virtually laughing at us. They can hardly assemble a home win for our enjoyment. They are a disgrace and an embarrassment.

    Now they are firing coaches every other year. This club looks more like a Head Coach fantasy camp, not an NFL franchise.

    They could reconcile this by making a good hire. Chances seem doubtful. If you disagree please explain why.

  51. "TheKevin" Says:

    @buccaneers

    I act like a jerk because this franchise and most fans also haven’t a clue.

    But not one of them can dispute the facts I layed out.

  52. Architek Says:

    Everyone wants to win but don’t want the adversity. Clearly the Glazers admitted they made a mistake long term but it’s not good enough for some of you slap wagons. When we return to promenence again I’m sure you will be on the bandwagon like you were with Jameis after he proved you all wrong too!

  53. Buc1987 Says:

    So the sites STILL broken Joe? We flipped back to only 2 comments posted out of 52 posts?

    We’re wasting our time for the last 3 days….the sites broken.

  54. Buccaneers Says:

    Well Kevin just try and calm down on the fans. The Bucs have force fed us garbage for years now. From a fans seat it has been brutal to watch this team fumble out a garbage team every season especially since there is nothing we can do to fix it.

    Over frustration will always lead to twisted opinions. It’s just part of the game.

    Maybe the Bucs can figure this message out. But for now, good god it makes me sick.

  55. unbelievable Says:

    Hey Kevin

    Besides trying to set a record for lmao over and over, why are you here if you hate this franchise so much ?

  56. lurker Says:

    don’t feed theidiot troll! he is usually wrong.

    and the glazers are not firing a head coach “every other year”, but i see math and language are not your strong suits.

  57. "TheKevin" Says:

    @buccaneers

    I’m sick too my man. its a never ending bad dream

  58. unbelievable Says:

    *typing lmao

  59. Buccaneers Says:

    Architek- I believe a decade of suckage goes a bit beyond adversity. Our adversity occurred years ago, at this point bad football moves and losing records and last place finishes have become the norm. This is unacceptable. I’m about tired of false hopes and forgiving mistakes

  60. "TheKevin" Says:

    @unbelievable

    I don’t hate this team. I watched every single ga,e since 1987. But it’s laughable how bad this orginazation is.

    Hey lurker how’s that Prius running today?

  61. "TheKevin" Says:

    @lurker

    Going on 4 coaches in 6 years idiot. That a great way to win lol

  62. Buccaneers Says:

    Well put. This is exactly like a never ending bad dream

  63. Tampa Tony Says:

    @thekevin- what facts?

    8-24, 3 home wins, numerous free agency busts, horrible in game management, picking Brindza, 70% completions for opposing qbs, 26th in points allowed, letting good players go because, of his inability to adapt his passive scheme or would it be all the penalties?

    Not sure how anyone can defend Lovie unless you are related to him

  64. Buccaneers Says:

    The only faith I have in this team to find a good HC is that maybe we will stumble into it like Dungy. If I recall Dungy was their 3 choice when he got hire(basically by default)

  65. "TheKevin" Says:

    @tampa tony

    You didn’t see previous post.

    Someone asked what I’ve been right about.

    So I said at 6-6 that they wouldn’t win another game. I was right.

    You remember when you all were clamoring about the playoffs?

    You remember during that 4 game skid the offense scored one Td in the first half?

    And in 3rd downs they were 30 percent? When jameis struggled mightily?

    Wasn’t that dirk calling those plays?

    They guy you are all praying for?

    One TD in the first half in 4 straight games with a 30 percent conversion rate on 3rd downs.

    They team that couldn’t even hardly get a score in the red zone early in the year?

    Wasn’t that the god send dirk calling those plays?

    Don’t hold him up too high. It’s a long way down.

  66. "TheKevin" Says:

    @tampa tony

    I also said I don’t care who they coach is but give the coach some time to build a team.

    Changing coaches every 2 or 3 years is a sure fire way to keep losing.

    Dirk LOVIE schiano Morris Gruden

    I don’t care just have some stability.

  67. Buc1987 Says:

    Like I said earlier. It’s pretty much pure luck when teams get a good coach. Who coached the Pats before Bill? I’m sure he sucked too and who hired that guy? The same people that hired Bill that’s who.

    The Seahawks haven’t exactly been good at picking coaches over the years before Carrol. Well they did have Holmgren. That’s about it though. The Bucs are not the only team to have picked bad coaches.

    I think it’s a crapshoot. So like I said earlier, put out a bunch of names on a Wheel of Fortune wheel and take a spin.

  68. "TheKevin" Says:

    You all can say what you want about me.

    But one thing you idiots can’t dispute is the fact that this franchise has lost more games than any other franchise since the bucs have been a team. Fact.

    There’s a reason for that. Ownership has no clue what to do or who to hire. Whether the glazers or the culver house crew. It’s all the same. Coach in coach out losing season after losing season. Other than about a 5 year run. It stinks.

  69. unbelievable Says:

    Gruden got plenty of time.

    Raheem got 3 years and that regime was going downhill fast, no control over the players, who just flat out quit after 4 weeks into his 3rd season.

    Did Schiano or Lovie deserve a 3rd year? Possibly. Maybe. But at the same time, neither one of them showed any signs that anything would change it year 3. They were both stubborn to a fault. If it wasn’t practiced and in their game plan, they weren’t gonna do it, even if it was working (remember MG in the hurry up against SF?). And as Joe pointed out, a lot of the guys run out by Lovie are doing pretty well with their new teams.

    I don’t want to change coaches every other year at all. I want consistency. I want to build a real franchise like we had in the late 90s – 00s. But we need a guy in charge who gets it.

    I’ll leave you with this: after 2 full years, a defensive head coach still couldn’t figure out how to get his players to stop a quick slant. 2 years!

  70. Buccaneers Says:

    I’m neither here nor there on Lovie Smith. If there is an argument here between fellow Bucs fans I don’t even think Lovie Smith is at the root. Lovie Smith is just the latest factor of a mismanaged disorganized disfuctional franchise……………Love or hate Coach Smith(or somewhere in the middle) I see no reason to be excited or happy about this story.

    This firing, to me, is just another example of how poorly run this team is. The Buccaneers have made blunder upon blunder for years now. They haven’t shown us fans any evidence to suggest they have an idea of what they are doing. We have been rebuilding for over a decade. We have churned through drafted players free agents and head coaches as if they grow on trees. We have suffered through losing seasons like a broken record. We spend our wages to support them at Ray Jay only to watch them get embarrassed while barely entertaining us.

    I for one am sick and tired of it. Worst part of it all is they have clearly illustrated to me that they haven’t a clue on how to build a legit football team. These days I can only hope for a sheer stroke of luck. So please forgive me for not celebrating Lovies canning as if it is some type of a sign that management has it figured out.

  71. Greg Miles Says:

    I have been on the record many time asking for our team to move on from this train wreck. About time we find a coach that demands players earn MY money. They are supposed to be professionals and we need a coach that expects them to earn there keep.
    Go Bucs

  72. Buccaneers Says:

    The best decision this franchise has made in the past decade was the decision at halftime in week 17 last year. When they decided to throw the game, in front of their own fans none-theless so that that could move up a single draft spot.

    That’s what they have given us to hang out hats on. Us fans have suffered through pure garbage for a long period of time. They owe us more then that,,…….it saddens me to write this, to think back at all the crap moments we get as fans for this team and realize there really hasn’t been any joy

  73. "TheKevin" Says:

    @buccaneers

    Great great post. But the idiots will read over it as if it doesn’t exist. They don’t get it at all. The root of the problem that is. They only see the small picture and not the whole canvas of sh it. They celebrate these firings as if the next coach is gonna have them in the super bowl the following season.

    They don’t understand. But awesome post.

  74. MadMax Says:

    Oh, theres the “ThebutthurtKevin” all I have to say to you is TOLD YA!!!!!

  75. "TheKevin" Says:

    @madmax

    And here’s an example of someone who celebrates a franchise that doesn’t have a clue about what it’s doing. You were right mad max. I was wrong and not afraid to admit it. Celebrate starting over again lol. Take a step back and look at this pathetic franchise and tell me how you can be happy.

    This move shows how disorganized and dysfunctional this orginazation is. And you’re happy. Lol pathetic.

    I don’t care who the coach is mad max but give the. Some time to build a team.

    And after 2 seasons mad max will be screaming for the next coach to be fired. The carousel continues.

  76. BucFan20 Says:

    It was not going to change. It would have been the same defense. More garbage in then the same excuse. He did not have the players he needed. Even tho he picked them and put them on the field. Then played the rotate game trying to get it right.

  77. Buccaneers Says:

    The thing that really sticks in my crawl most of all is that I sit here right now telling myself the team hasn’t got a chance. Then next year when the season approaches I’ll find myself caught up believing Jamie’s will carry us and we can actually have a team to be proud of.

    I’m a homer to a fault and will let this team put egg on my face once again. Most likely the new HC will screw it all up and we’ll be a doormat again. But my dumb ass will be sitting front row waving a Bucs flag like a clueless five year old……….rooting for this franchise feel like taking your cheating girlfriend back time and time again thinking this time you won’t get burned

  78. "TheKevin" Says:

    @buccanners

    I have to say after the last few years I just sit back and see how bad it will get as this franchise makes blunder after blunder. I refuse to let this team grab my emotions. I’ve been let down way too many times. After a while you can’t help but to just laugh it off and go on about your day. It’s sad really.

  79. BucFan20 Says:

    I learned this lesson with this team years ago. 1 game at a time!!! Or they will break your heart!

  80. StopyankingWattsnuts Says:

    if the oc doesnt have heart problems in the very first year of the rebuild lovies record would be different and winston would not be here. should have not counted the first year against lovie and i believe that jason licht did not fight for lovie to stay. the same lovie fought for him to be the gm

  81. Buccaneers Says:

    Wish I could laugh it off, just can’t do it. Guess I’m just wired differently but hey that’s what makes the world go around.

    The most emotional moment for me this year was when Austin Jenkins scored a TD with 3 seconds left against the bears. We were still down by two scores and Jenkins proceeds to start dancing. Meanwhile I’m about 40 feet away holding myself back from jumping onto the field………I sure hope our new coach realizes you can’t win with bums like that and hands him his release form.

  82. "TheKevin" Says:

    Yea ASJ is an idiot. I almost jumped through the tv.

    It was the D kevin….that undisciplined bunch led by a stubborn coach who refused to identify the talents and work with it. No, not gonna even bend, let alone break. Thats what it was. Sorry you have the inability to see that. Shelf life of players is 3-5 years especially if they’re good. We’ve had some high draft picks for some pretty good players the last 5 years. Its time to get a coach in here who can work a scheme around the talent he has. Again, sorry you cant process that.

    My question is how will the firing of Lovie affect this years draft? I was hoping we could get one more draft out of Lovie so we could see him draft all defense. Joe stated “outside of Lovie’s hiring of Licht and Dirk Koetter, and his handing of Jameis Winston’s near perfect transition to the NFL, Joe can’t think of anything that Lovie did right. Not one thing. Hmmm..

    The sweep of a division rival, the Dixie Chicks
    Tripled the amount of wins from prior year
    NFL.com ranked defense 10th in 2015 (368.9 Yds/gm) 25th in 2014 (340.4)
    #2 rushing defense in 2015 for avg yards per carry (3.4)
    The victory over the Eagles was nice

    Mad max….,…and I am quite sorry that this club has a pure inability to hire a HC that can actually perform. The way this team operates the only realistic hope I see is that the next coach doesn’t completely run out any talent the Bucs current have on their roster.

    Thekevin-

    Bad Continuity is not continuity. And I agree 100% about Koetter he’s not a slam dunk hire in my eyes.

    I’d prefer him to stay as OC and bring in Sean McDermont or Coughlin

    Hey Kevin here is a FACT for ya..

    1st Game Rookie. Ate Lovie’s Defense Ha-ha… Lovie couldn’t game plan for that.ha-ha..

    Don’t give that Players did play crap. Other coaches get the best out of players, Just ask any other team that is starting all the players Lovie Cut..

    Oh and All of the Free Agents Lovie Brought in .. 1 is starting. Others on bench. Most are at home Laughing all the way to the bank..

    Lovie had all say in FA….Jason took care of Draft. ..Which did better

    So the sites STILL broken Joe? We flipped back to only 2 comments posted out of 52 posts?

    We’re wasting our time for the last 3 days….the sites broken.”

    At the risk of being “annoying” to our gracious hosts perhaps this phenomenon which apparently I am told is not really happening is one of those great enhancements to their product!

    @TheKevin
    Not all the missed opportunities in the red zone were Koetters fault or due to bad play calling. A few of those plays Jameis flat out missed and a few more were bad drops by Evans and Dye. I do agree tho that the whole team including the offense regressed mightily. Keep in mind tho Koetter still was able to achieve the 5th ranked offense with 2 rookie olineman and a rookie QB and because of that the fans majority would like to see him get the gig. MW personally I want a big name, harbaugh, chucky, coughlin, Gase, but if we can’t lant any of those I just mentioned I would be happy with koetter.

    When I said regressed mightily I failed to mention in the month of December.

    Well Rod…welcome to JBF we’ve all been here for years some of us longer than others. I’m the resident rat. I’m at my comp about 13 hours a day. I can attest Joe is not an ass. It’s his site, so how come you don’t respect that?
