Will Gholston Talks Costly Penalty

December 18th, 2015
Another 15-yard penalty.

Another 15-yard penalty.

Will Gholston had a pretty good night. He had 11 tackles and a tackle for a loss.

But it was what he did after a play that will be remembered. Midway through the second quarter, Gholston appeared to kick Rams running back Todd Gurley as Gurley was prone on the ground.

Gholston, standing over Gurley after he tackled him following a four-yard gain, got into a verbal altercation with Gurley and then appeared to kick him. Not so, Gholston said.

“No, I was trying to pull my leg from out of the vice,” Gholston said claiming he was tangled up with Gurley, though Joe never saw such an entanglement. Gholston claimed he was trying to get his leg free and was flagged for unnecessary roughness.

The penalty set up an eventual touchdown, a Gurley three-yard run for a 21-3 lead.

As far as the Rams’ offense, which lit up the Bucs, Gholston claimed they ran nothing unexpected.

“They ran all the plays that we practiced,” Gholston said.

Saw this. His leg was tangled up when he tried to move away he could not. But then he blatantly kicked the St. Louis player.

Stupid selfish penalties. Every. Single. Game.

Grow up WILL!!! If I was the coach, I’d bench him the rest of the season and threaten to trade him. That looked like a kick to me….and add that to the other stupid penalties….raising a hand towards his Coach….sheesh!

  3. MadMax Says:

Think we could get a 6th for him?

  4. Lovie Is Dog Poo Says:

Cut him. Another extremely dumb player.

  5. Marlow Says:

Oh, he did kick… It may not have been a hard malicious kick, but it was a kicking like action, and it was intentional. I question if Lovie has control of his team. His guys are tuning him out on defense, and his players weekly get costly penalties. Way to look like spoiled high school kids on national television guys.

“They ran all the plays that we practiced.”

Imagine if they wouldn’t have practiced. On the other hand at least someone on the DL is playing with passion. Keep up the tenacity Will.

  7. Clodhopper Says:

The penalties I’m getting sick of are the illegal formation penalties. We get like 2 a game. WTF!!?? It’s as bad as 12 men on the field. It’s a stupid penalty to get that often.

Clod, I agree with your comment.

Duhhh..I’m starting to think this Gholston kid is a..little slow or dumb. He plays well then Fs’ it up by making stupid penalties. Enough. DROP HIM NEXT SEASON LIKE A..BAD HABIT!
