Mic’d Up Jameis

December 17th, 2015
Rare audio of Jameis in-huddle.

Rare audio of Jameis in-huddle.

Some pretty cool stuff here folks. Last week during the loss to the Saints, NFL Films had America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, mic’d up.

You can hear and see in this video how Jameis is trying to fire up his teammates. You can hear (and see) Jameis on the sidelines, maybe too far onto the field, hollering encouragement to the defense, looking like he wants to punch somebody.

There was also this line of Jameis in the huddle Joe found pretty cool, “Let’s get some soul in here, baby. Let’s get some rhythm.”

Also, for the first time Joe can remember, NFL Films has audio of the headset communication between a coach and quarterback, specifically Bucs offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter and Jameis. Koetter tells Jameis there are too many players chirping to the Saints defense, and Jameis then proceeds to scold his teammates for not concentrating on the task at hand.

Some really, really cool audio and video in that link above.

Caution: The new/different angle shown of Donteea Dye’s game-ending, season-killing drop may cause you to projectile vomit your morning oatmeal.

Shows the need for a true number 3 receiver, I hope we draft one in the late rounds, and rest of draft go def, DE,FS,SS, CB

  2. Dreambig Says:

Awsome to see his leadership skills on display. Disturbing to see how much leadership was required for this important game.

It will be interesting to see how the team bounces back tonight. That was a demoralizing loss. NO had lost 4 in a row and came in with all the confidence and swagger in the world, got into our players heads and had their way with us. I am attempting to maintain an even keel for this year. I wasn’t to high after beating Atl and am not to low this week. Big picture is we are a lot better than last year and we should be in a position to fight for the division next year. If not, we are going to need a lot of Lovie confidence polls next year.

We need to get over this “Hump”hries. The playoff chances are slim. Its do or “Dye” game. 2nd and 3rd receivers must shine.

We definitely have our franchise QB. He is only going to get better. Bucs fans think about it. Its been over a decade since we had a good QB. Sorry MGM.
Can you here the trumpets? Our savior is here now.

Licht and Lovie will reload on the draft again. We will be playoff bound next year. For now lets enjoy JAMEIS, Martin, Koetter and Lovie!

I have all the respect in the world for Winston after that lick he took on that 4th down pass.

Man, was Winston taking a beating or what? Is Dotson inactive again tonight? After watching the game last week, I thought Winston was much more low key than in the past. That even he seemed flat? He just wasn’t himself. The video took some of that away but there were still signs that everyone was off. Anyone else notice the pre-game speech? McCoy is in the back having a conversation with McDonald, Cherilus looks uninterested, Evans bewildered and where is the rest of team? Talk about a group fired up to play the biggest game of the season and for some there career? Not. I liked how Humphries told Winston he could have ran it in for the TD and I did not like how Koetter said “there are to many people not playing.” At the end did you see where Winston was yelling at the defense to make a play then he turned and was telling players who were sitting on the bench to get up? This team is going to need players to step up tonight if they are going to have a chance to beat the Rams tonight.

wait wasn’t jamarcus supposed to yell at coaches and pout during a loss?

kidding aside, i’m happy to see our rookie QB carrying himself the way he does, but unfortunately these nuggets are way less cool after a loss.

  8. ATrain Says:

I was not a Winston supporter I wanted the other guy..

With that said THIS KID CAN PLAY AND HAS HEART

I wish the coach would have as much heart and the team would follow ..

Jamies was the only one on the side line talking why..

LOVIE GET OFF YOU A$$ AND GET INTO YOUR PLAYERS FIRE THEM UP..

    #3 HAS A NEW FAN

  9. Wes Says:

It was unfortunate that they finally mic’d him up on a losing effort. Would love to see him on that winning side

3 things that really stuck out to me in the video…
    1. Let’s get some soul in here
    2. After the TD Jameis is told “you could’ve ran that in” Jameis replies “it ain’t about that”
    3. Jameis exclaiming “let’s go I’m with you D!!!”
Look I was a Jameis supporter from day 1 and I’m gonna say this the minute we have the athletes and talent to truly ball with this young man we are a super bowl contender… Jameis used the right word “soul” and that’s what he brings and you can’t gameplan for that. Bucs fans we have a franchise qb an intelligent from office manager in Licht, a solid no nonsense coach in lovie, an offensive stud mind in koetter… Let’s be patient and support these guys!!!
Give this unit three years, draft defense heavy this year. Fill in gaps the next, and we are a serious threat… Gonna take some time but as long as we got Jameis we are halfway there!!!! Let’s go Bucs!!! Let that cannon blow straight down Dale Mabry baby!!!!!

  11. tnew Says:

he will get the team…make that the entire community to buy in. The fact that he still has so many detractors in the Tampa Bay area is disturbing.

  12. Buc since '74 Says:

I thought the team played flat – including Jameis. Booooiiiii was I wrong! Our leader was fired up all game and ready to rock the house! If everyone had his heart and drive to win – we’d be one hell of a fighting team. Maybe not enough talent yet, but damn we’d have fight! Expect a fight tonight folks!

  13. cmurda Says:

That drop was disgusting. The pass was right in the chest and the defender wasn’t even a distraction. I hate to see a young man that may have potential lose his job over that and I truly felt for him after he hung his head in shame but the anger I felt when I saw that overcame any sorrow I felt for Dye. I hope Dye redeems himself and becomes somebody. The reality is my bet would be against it.

  14. ATrain Says:

Dye has dropped balls all year… IN practice too…

Lovie falls in love with a player and wont give in…

Humphries catches everything near him, but we don’t use him much? why…

Winston was the only one fired up and LOVIE should FIRE UP AND DEMAND MORE FROM THE OTHERS

We will not win big until Lovie is gone

  15. Pickgrin Says:

Great stuff. The end result of last Sunday’s game sucked – but I’m very glad to see this video of Jameis doing all he can to get the win.
