“No Panic”

Joe shared Monday night that America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, was calling plays in Philadelphia because of faulty headsets.

But now a stunning revelation comes to light.

Jameis is so damn cool and mature that key offensive teammates didn’t even know there were communication problems, which offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said lasted two series.

That’s stunning for a 21-year-old, especially remembering how Josh Freeman melted down with headset troubles on opening day of 2013, calling timeouts and looking freaked out and flustered.

Doug Martin chatted with Buccaneers.com and was told about Jameis’ headset troubles. That was news to him.

“I didn’t even know that happened,” Martin said of the malfunctions. “No panic. [Jameis] is very poised in the huddle. You know, he’s a very confident guy, and intelligent.”

And the legend of Jameis grows.

Martin also added that Jameis has had an infectious impact on the Bucs.

“I love the guy because he’s so passionate and charismatic. It’s contagious,” Martin said. “That’s the kind of guy we need leading our team.”

Soon free agents will come t the Bucs and the Bucs will get a discount in contract negotiations, because they get to play for Lovie, a Player’s coach, and play with Jameis, Amerixa’s Quarterback.

  2. Couch Fan Says:

Freewee was and always will be a bad joke. Winston will make us forget about him.

Freeman is a sad story to me. A kid with a lot of promise that crashed and burned to the point where he cannot even be a third stringer.

I still believe there was something about that whole situation that we don’t know…something having to do directly with Freeman’s health…or maybe some addiction issues or something.

Either way, I hope he at least gets his life together, even if it isn’t in the NFL.

Winston has been getting me more and more excited. I still have a few concerns, but none are new ones. In fact, he’s given me more reason to hope than not since the season started.

Even in the first game (which I knew we would lose).

  4. The original "Kevin" Says:

I dont expect perfection. I know he will take his lumps and make mistakes. But the facts that he both forgets about and learns from his mistakes at the same time is great for this team. I admit I freaked out after week 1….Im glad hes making a believer out of all of us.

All the guys I see on a regular basis that were bashing him….they just look down at the ground un shame and shake theyre heads. They dont say much. Im glad hes proving me wrong. I think weve all been so frustrated over the years from the consistent losing has made it easy to turn on someone without giving them a chance. Im a believer now that long term, as long as he continues to work as hard to improve throughout his career that they made the better pick taking winston over mariotto

“And the legend of Jameis grows”….You Joe(s) are SICK !!….. did you know that he killed a bear when he was only 3 !!! I LIKE Jameis… but you Joe(s) are WAY over the top !!

  6. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Largo did you have any reservations about Sampson and the bare handed slaughter he committed against bears and lions thousands of years ago? An inquiring mind would like to know. Wonder how much game has met its demise at the other end of Bret Farve’s rifle or bow. I mean C’mon man.

  7. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Understand something bro,he is an assassin. Born and bread.

  8. JAB83 Says:

I heard that Jamies claimed to the top of Mt. Everest just so he could cause and avalanche and ride down it on a snow board while go proing it he then jumped off a peak kicked off the snow board and took off in one of those flying suit thingies and somehow spntaniously grew wings and turned into an angle….. Its it true Joe???

  9. Sapp, STFU Says:

Too much pumpkin latte in this comment section

I’ll answer. HELL YEA IT’S TRUE. Check it,some of you are a little hesitant to accept what you now have in this young man. I can understand, but let me paint it for you. He’s Tom Brady’s fire and Peyton Mannining’s mind wrapped in one individual. That combination(cut and paste this and revisit it 15 years from now)will make him the G.O.A.T. I’m saying it now at the beginning and don’t care how it makes any of you feel.

  11. tnew Says:

The passive aggressiveness towards Jameis is old. We have a franchise QB that continues to do things that are leaps and bounds in front of expectations. I remember a couple of years back writing a post rooting for Freeman and Schiano, because if they didn’t work out, we would be looking for a new coach and QB. I’m pretty sure I mentioned Winston by name. At any case, embrace this Tampa Bay, this is what it feels like to have a QB that can make a difference. On the field, off the field, for free agents and for relevance. Stop hoping this kid makes a mistake just so that you can yell AHAH! I was right all along. So what if the other guy is the second coming of Colin Kergrifilson. As sexy as that running athletic QB is, it can’t last more than 5 years unless he’s Cam who’s most comparable to Simeon Rice from a body type standpoint. Embrace the kid, he’s earned it

  12. orlbucfan Says:

Man, some folks are still sipping TDay punch. Famous Jameis is talented, but he wouldn’t be worth one cent without the other 10 players and coaches on the O. Joe, I’m talking to you. Make sure these guys get credit cos they deserve it. Go Mighty Bucs tomorrow!!

  13. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Well said tnew. Only thing I’ll add is everytime I see Cam take contact from a LB I think to myself this guy is shortening his career. But oh well that’s they’re future problem.

  14. GhostofSchiano Says:

Jameis will lead us to the promised land.

  15. Mike Johnson Says:

Bucs are gonna have to ball to beat the Colts. Colts are fighters and they can play also. Hasslebeck is due for a bad game. IF our Defense plays as well as its been doing and the offense is clicking..Watch out! Bucs pull this one out.
Dare we say 3 in a row? Beat the Colts and we can truly say we are..on the rise.
    GO BUCS!

  16. Buc1987 Says:

Joe next time you’re interviewing Jameis, cut yourself just before it. Then ask him to touch your wound to see if it heals. jk lol

  17. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Mike Johnson go back and review the open thread from last week’s game. Like I said then”we bout to get on these mofos arse “. I think you know how I would really like to say that. If we can get a win my a$$.

  18. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Check it man, some of us talk in a manner that clearly indicates we can see what’s about to happen with this squad because we’re doing the breakdown in our minds. Others seem to have to see it play out before they truly believe. Whatever side of the fence you happen to be on as they say to each is own. But if you process like I like do you can tell this team about to be the bully team of the whole d@$! league dawg.

  19. Buccfan37 Says:

    Bully the Colts!

  20. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Not a problem, but until then tune in to bspn and watch these Bravehearts carve up a lil gaytor meat ya dig.

  21. Bucnut2 Says:

This tells me more about the coaching staff than it does JW. It tells me that they have him prepared for any situation. Koetter is off the charts good. All you have to do is look at Matt Ryan under Dirk and now.

  22. Jameisbucsfan Says:

Bucnut, I understand the coaches are good, but without Jameis we are 2 and whatever once again.

  23. Howard Cosell Says:

    NOS-BOS!

I waited on it…and it arrived last Sunday. Pretty awesome to watch as a long suffering Bucs fan.

You’re right: Assassin. Born and bred.

Haters can put that on their latte cup and sip it with their pinky extended.

  24. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

😄Too funny Cosell, and you right bro it’s time to embrace what the football Gods have delivered us. Bucc nation stand up,this scaredy cat mentality is sickening. We about to the Don’s of this league man.

  25. C-rock Says:

Jameis will be ready to play at the New England Cheatriots stadium since they are well known to have headset issues there. I love the fact that Jameis can keep on rolling without the headset. Almost Payton Manning-like.
