“Even When They Loaded The Box”

October 25th, 2015

lovie 0922Those who listened to Lovie Smith’s radio shows recently know why the head coach is all smiles about his running game.

It’s not really about Doug Martin.

It’s about the Bucs’ ability to run when the other team knows — and is prepared for — exactly what’s coming.

“Even when they loaded the box,” Lovie has said multiple times with a grin in his voice on the Buccaneers Radio Network.

Lovie is determined to keep teams from making America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, throw the football more than Lovie desires, which isn’t much.

Look for the Bucs to have another day of imbalanced offense today in Washington, if they can pull it off.

You just know Lovie is ordering Dirk Koetter to pound the rock and tread carefully, not too carefully, but being bold through the air is unlikely unless the Bucs are trailing big.
