Much as I would love to say that I expect the Bucs to come out with a strong game against a mediocre Jaguars team, I can’t. My expectations are low and my only consolation is that if we do lose, maybe the failed Lovie/Licht era will finally draw to a close. I’d love a win here, but I’m not holding my breath. If “America’s Turnover Machine”…aka “The ATM”….aka Fameis Jameis doesn’t do a mich better job taking care of the ball, this could be another long afternoon.

I get that I complain a lot during games. I apologize for that. I’m just intense and I let my emotions get the best of me. With that said, nine times out of nine I’m right. Now, just a question I would like to pose. When you look up at the crowd and realize there isn’t much of one there, is it surprising? You watch us willing to take a knee with 3 time outs and over 20 secs from our own 35 yard line and it becomes very clear why the fanbase has had it with this team.

I mean Blake Bortles, 10/14 132 yards and 2 TDs. What are top QBs going to do to this defense? Without pass rush or turnovers it is there to get destroyed. We have more INTs than the Seahawks this year. Turnovers don’t matter like they used to to being a great defense. You have to be able to actually cover.

In the games we lost to backup quarterbacks the last couple years, I think we can win with the current state of the team. Doesn’t seem like much, but it is improvement up until now.
And…we are going to play at least 2 backups through the rest of the season.

It’s our 5th game.
With each game played, the team will improve in areas. After halfway through the season, those things begin to come together a little bit more each game.
I predicted 2-6 in the first half of the season. I refused to predict beyond that. Why? Because it will depend on injuries and development. At the time, although I was confident in Ali Marpet even before the draft, I knew it would take time for the line to gel.
It’s gelling faster than expected. So as it does, Winston and the rest of the offense will get better.
Defense I fully expected a lot of issues. It’s been ignore in the draft in order to build the offense. Next year, the defense will get its turn.

That is Lovies fault Bonzai! He let Zuttah go, Penn go- he made the personnel decisions. We started a tackle last year at TE- because Lovie decided we didnt need a backup. Lovie is completely in over his head. You have to be related to him. I started unbaised, wasnt unhappy or happy with the hire. I now loathe him and my team as a result of his direction. Way worse than Schiano, Raheem, anything I have ever seen.

The pro-type play you want will show up next season, assuming Koetter doesn’t get hired away…on offense.
Of course defense is weak. It hasn’t been addressed except for one player in the draft. That will come after this season.
Next year, the offense will be massively improved…and capable of winning games while the defense develops a mostly defensive draft. We’ll win more next year.

Yes…and replacing the coaches BEFORE they have time to make a difference for the better. It takes time to implement a vision.
You had Raheem, who gave chance after chance to players that sucked and he and Dominic sucked at drafting. You had Schiano, who was great at spotting talent, but he was building a team with an entirely different vision.
Lovie has had to start practically from scratch, with the exception of 2 key players. You need to set aside what came before. It’s is a new day, and things are getting better.

JW is having a great rebound game. The Jags may have a bad offense but their D is pretty good and we have 4 offensive TD’s. It’s time to give JW props. He hasn’t been perfect but he’s had some nice decisions and clutch runs for 1st downs. I’m very pleased to see his progression. He’s got heart. D Martin is looking to get paid this offseason. Hopefully, it’s by us before we lose him.
