V-Jax Identifies Doug Martin’s New Nickname

September 12th, 2015

Doug Martin has made it clear that he hates the perfectly good nickname “Muscle Hamster.” Don’t dare call Martin that.

But what do his teammates call him?

Vincent Jackson revealed this pressing piece of information as opening day approaches.

“The Douganator, that’s what we call him, man. He’s a little juggernaut. But we give him a hard time every now and then with the Hamster, ” Jackson said on Jay Mohr Sports on Fox Sports Radio this week.

Jackson said Martin “is a durable guy now” and simply fell victim to the inevitable injuries of the NFL business.

Joe much prefers the Muscle Hamster nickname, but if Martin can rip off another 1,000-yard season, Joe will call the guy whatever he wants to be called.

Sorry muscle hamster. I will call you muscle hamster. Weather you like it or not that is a very fitting name. If you are able to break tackles this year maybe I would consider calling you something else. But you need to earn it in regular season games not preseason…

  5. The Buc Realist Says:

Lets hope he is the ” Dounanator” and not the “Contract year phenomenon”!!!!!

  6. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

Dude is talking himself out of a lucrative Kia Soul endorsement deal. Embrace it, man.

  9. Buccfan37 Says:

Hamster is a very small animal, like short people don’t like the nicknames thrown at them. But Douganator? That rhymes with muscletater.

Ahh come on Doug! Missing a GOLDEN opportunity here… THE DOUGGERNAUT! I mean, come on! It’s so obvious!

    “I’m the Douggernaut, b!#@%.”

“It’s as simple as that” – Lovie Smith aka “just keepin it one hunnid!”

  12. Buc1987 Says:

OneLove…atleast he’d slap the shyte out of him instead of taking his “wang” out like you usually say.

  13. gulfcoast Says:

I’m with OneLove…. No need for mac to be a dickface about it. Go Bucs!

  14. Pickgrin Says:

Dude doesn’t like the nickname – so don’t call him that. Pretty simple.

A healthy and motivated Doug Martin is easily good for 1200+ rushing yards and 30+ catches this year if the OLine can do their job and give him some daylight to run to.

  15. cmurda Says:

I drafted Doug in the 5th round of my fantasy draft. More important is reality but I got a little extra love for Dougie. I believe in him. All I’m saying is contract year.

  16. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

LOL, Let’s call him “The Rock Star”, because he is good at pounding the Rock ?

  17. kaput Says:

Once you have a nickname, you have a nickname.

    Muscle Hamster it is.

  18. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

He’ll always be Muscle Hamster. To me and my kids.

Better than Sponge Bob Square Pants.

  19. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

He needs to think it thru.

Muscle Hamster Cereal – Have a mascot hamster pumping iron.

    Muscle Hamster protein shakes.

    Muscle Hamster snack packs.

    Muscle Hamster clothing line.

Imagine a cartoon hamster flexing. He could totally make it work. Heck! He should trademark it!

Oh shoot! I SHOULD TRADE MARK IT and sell Muscle Hamster t-shirts!
    Forget I said anything…

Schiano ran him into the ground.

Schiano overused him like a psycho.

Schiano gave him way too many carries as a rookie.

Blount shouldve gotten half of the carries.

If Blount had been used correctly, like the year we went 10-6, Schiano might still have his job.

  21. Danati74 Says:

I don’t care what you want us to call you Doug. I just want you to produce.

  22. pick6 Says:

it’s right there in your comment, vince – isn’t “douggernaut” a way more appropriate and clever nickname? muscular red dude who is low to the ground and pounds through walls? it’s a frickin layup, and they go with “douganator”? wtf?
