Josh Freeman Heads To Brooklyn

Freeman’s new coach has ties to Lovie Smith and Greg Schiano

Joe must commend former Bucs franchise quarterback leaky, sleepy Josh Freeman.

The guy is stopping at nothing to resurrect his career.

Hopefully, 27-year-old Freeman is swimming in cash after earning about $40 million during his NFL time. But Freeman still has football in his blood, and charging ahead with his career after getting let go by the Bucs, Vikings, Giants and Dolphins in less than two years.

Word surfaced today that Freeman signed up to play in the four-team Fall Experimental Football League, FXFL. Freeman will play for the Brooklyn Bolts. The league has a team in Mahoning Valley, Ohio, plus in Wappingers Falls, New York, and a homeless club that will play where it’s told.

The FXFL season runs from Oct. 2 through Nov. 6.

Ironically, Freeman’s head coach is Terry Shea, who spent years as an NFL quarterbacks coach and was Lovie Smith’s first offensive coordinator with the Bears. Shea also drove the Rutgers program into the ground as its head coach, before Greg Schiano replaced him and saved it.

Football is a small world. Joe wishes Freeman well.

  2. The Buc Realist Says:

I can not wish anything but misfortune to this buffoon!!! He is a Liar and never has even tried to make amends for it!!! No apology for his fans, and the people that covered up so much for so many years!!!! May Failure follow Jfro-6pak!!!!!!

  3. lightningbuc Says:

Hopefully the Brooklyn Bolts signed Freeman to a “team friendly” contract – you know, the kind Joe wanted the Bucs to offer him in 2013.

Obligatory “Where is the NFLPA investigation?” post.

  5. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Wow….what a sad, sad story…..well deserved….but sad nonetheless.

  6. AC Says:

Hey Joe since we are talking about former bucs playing else where.. jeff demps now plays in my sunday flag football league and says he is only playing there because he can’t get a job lol. Surprised Tedford didnt take him with him to the CFL you know the whole “speed in space”.. what a joke Freeman was completely out of the year and now playing for the FXFL talk about Not For Long League

  7. Couch Fan Says:

Can’t wait to see Winston smash all FreeWee’s QB records. This guy needs to be forgotten about.

    LMAO Joe that was funny.

  9. Buc1987 Says:

    The Buc Realist…ditto.

  10. D-Rome Says:

Amazing that Freeman’s former backup Josh Johnson can still get a tryout for the Cowboys yet Free is out of chances in the NFL.

No one actually believe that Freeman voluntarily went into the NFLs drug treatment program for ritalin, do they?

  11. PRBucFan Says:

    Awww po po Free Free…

    lol bwahahahahaha

  12. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I really don’t understand all the “hate” towards Joshy Washy now

    …..you’re not perfect

    …..nobody’s perfect

He was at the mountain top and now he’s in sewers from a NFL’s football perspective.

I applaud him for keep on trying even though many would’ve given up considering he’s already a multi-millionaire.

  13. Buc1987 Says:

    TheBucsAnthem…your post is pointless.

  14. JMN Says:

Yeah it is about a paycheck now. He will never play in the NFL as a starting QB again. And it is very questionable if he will be a backup in the NFL ever again.

  15. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Buc1987

    LOL

    Get your phase……old man

That’s how I feel about Winston. But, Winston was hated before he has even been given a chance to prove himself as a pro on & off the field. On the other hand, Freeman got an entire contract (at the old rookie scale), and then tried to burn down the organization on his way out the door. It’s amazing how many people think that weight loss was from getting healthy. I would guess a good amount of people who still support Freeman, don’t care for Winston. It’s interesting.

40 million, egads! The next trend will be designer babies genetically cloned with pro football selected genes.

Your posts are still pointless. Drop it.

  21. Yungry Says:

I just want to personally thank Greg Schiano for exposing this loser. Big Dog won’t admit Freeman is a screw up but he knows deep down inside. I think he has an ego problem.

  22. cmurda Says:

I would have wished the guy well if he was simply a failed experiment. There are many of those documented cases but alas this one is different. After a serious accusation of spilling personal medical records went absolutely nowhere, no explanation at all was given. This is a guy that completely quit on his coach and team. How can anyone respect that? So, the allegation was hardly pursued by the plaintiff (Freeman) and the NFL looked into it and quietly swept it under the rug as there never were any violations.

Bonzai, to answer your question I believe Realist was referring to the B.S. accusation of medical information being shared. Who knows if this was a play to try to get Freeman released by the agent etc. but Freeman has to take responsibility for the accusation. It certainly appears that would make him a liar.

In summary, I normally wish ex-Bucs well but not you Freeman. You quitter and half-asser

Singing = Were O Were is Freeman Tonight He met another and [FART] he was gone.. HEE HAW

  24. Buc1987 Says:

    cmurda…Bravo mate.

I was waiting on Realist to explain it to him. I was too lazy to type everything you just said and seeing how he addressed Realist I was waiting on him, but I was THAT close to writing a long paragraph.

They couldn’t afford the 4th stadium, that’s why the last one is homeless. Lol

Really? See my first post in this article as to why he’s a liar.

  27. Bucsfan007 Says:

    @ LightningBuc ….

    Amen.

  28. Jeff Says:

Freebird smoked too much of the sticky icky and it fried his brain. That’s why he kept making the same mistakes over and over. He couldn’t remember anything from the previous day. Even if he was clean and sober he was still terribly inaccurate. And that does not bode well for an NFL QB.

  29. Teacherman777 Says:

Do u guys wanna why Josh Freeman missed the team photo?

Because he had to carried out of a Beach Hotel at 2 pm that afternoon!

He tanked the season to spite Schiano.

But he buried himself in the process.

And he showed up to the team bus vs. the Jets to start the season!

Josh Freeman is an entitled, spoiled, selfish diva party boy.

His size and potential went to his head.

He had as much talent as anybody.

But he wasted it away for drugs and parties.

Now, I have no problem with players smokin weeed sometimes. Hell, the world champ Seahwawks have many herb blazers, but Freeman never even tried.

Remember Dominiks 55.5555 million dollar contract to V-Jax??

Why #5 repeated like that? For Josh Freeman of course!!

And how to Freeman repay Dom? He quit on the team and partied his brain away.

  30. Vincente Says:

Go get em free! Y’all need to back off and let the man try to make a living. Acting like he has an effect on yalls personal lives. Get out here with that mess.

  31. Buc1987 Says:

Vincente…earn a living? He has about 14 mill in the bank. He earned enough of a living when the Bucs paid 5 mill to get rid of him. Then the Vikings paid another what 4 million or was it 8 mill for him to sit on the bench before they released him?

Now he’s playing for some backyard football team probably earning $10 per hour. Yep let him earn his living alright. Just like the fry guy at Arby’s.

  32. PRBucFan Says:

Bonzai has always been in denial about Free Free lol

  33. drdneast Says:

If Josh was to come clean and explain his weaknesses as a human being and be held accoutable as a man like Chris Carter did then I would wish Josh nothing but the best.
As it is, he has remained moot on the subject when he does owe the Buc fans who spent hard eatned money to watch him and the team an explanation.

  34. Vincente Says:

He owes no one an explanation! Just like you don’t owe an explanation for spending that money. I flew from Texas to watch Freeman play against the Falcons, we won that game which happened to be my very first game. I spent a lot of money but it was a great experience. I know it sucks to spend money to watch your team lose but there is a whole team out there you paid to watch not just Freeman. And yes he still needs to earn a living undead of sitting around doing nothing. I don’t get why fans have so much animosity towards him. Sure he made some questionable decisions on the field and on his way out of Tampa but how does this effect you on a personal level? Did your bills suddenly get higher? Did your wife or girlfriend leave you? Did your dog runaway from home because he set the franchise back a few years?? No! No no no he didn’t cause any negativity towards anyone but himself. Let the guy move on with his life and every buc fan should embrace the new era unfolding before us now. It’s really nice to be a buc fan right now. Look at what is going on in Seattle, in Chicago, in Philadelphia, In Dallas….

Yikes guy this is a football blog. No need to mention life outside of it. Freeman was a QB that played for our team that we speak about on this football blog. So he can be talked about however we so choose too. It’s our opinions and you don’t have to get “why fans have so much animosity towards him” like you so choose to do. Thanks for playing the game though of trying to tell us how we should think and feel about Freeman.
