Arian Foster A No-Go Sunday?

The lone critical weapon of the Texans, RB Arian Foster, may not play Sunday.

The lone critical weapon of the Texans, RB Arian Foster, may not play Sunday.

The only real weapon the Texans have on offense — Joe hopes you are not naive enough to consider sloppy Ryan Mallett a “weapon” — is running back Arian Foster.

Thing is, Foster is banged up.

He has a groin injury, and talking to members of the Houston pen and mic club today, Texans coach Bill O’Brien doesn’t think Foster will play Sunday, reports Rotoworld.com by way of Drew Dougherty, who works video for the Texans.

“I don’t think Arian will play this week,” O’Brien said. “Looking really good at practice. But I would say sooner rather than later.” Foster has been practicing the past two weeks, but the Texans, already 0-2, aren’t expected to push Foster back into the lineup until he’s 100 percent.”

Well, please remember this is Wednesday and O’Brien comes from the Bill Belicheat School of Public Information, which means just about anything said publicly about an injury prior to a game is dubious.

Without Foster, the Texans have struggled terribly on offense, as the “Custodian of Canton,” eye-RAH! Kaufman of The Tampa Tribune pointed out.

Joe hates to see a guy hurt, but if the Texans have to lean on Mallett to win a game for them, they are in a world of hurt and this plays right into the re-energized Bucs defense.

and the fact that their oline got an injury last week too – a valuable guy at that – Jack Smith should have a decent day and stay on top of the Sack list for another week – HOPEFULLY!

  2. DefenseRules Says:

Houston isn’t the only team hurting. Bucs have 3-4 starters on offense banged up: Dotson out, ASJ out, Evans probably out, E Smith questionable, several others hurt. No need for anyone to feel sorry for Houston.

I want to see our defense play with 100% effort like last Sunday no matter the opposing offense. And I want to continue watching the development of our offense under Koetter no matter who we are facing.

    Go Bucs!!!

    Licht is on FIRE!!!

  4. ChessMaster Says:

JJ Watt, Vince Wilfork, and Jadeveon Clowney scare me more than Arian Foster. That defense is scary.

Deandre Hopkins in concussion protocol as well. Texans. Them boys be hurting!

  6. LUVMYBUCS Says:

+ LT Duane Brown is down as well. We should make swiss cheese out of their OLine

    Houston Texans Offensive Line

    (Projected Starters)
    • LT – Clark
    • LG – Oday
    • C – Jones
    • RG – Brooks
    • RT – Newton

    Note:
    September 17, 2015
    • LG Oday Aboushi Claimed off waivers from the New York Jets.

    September 1, 2015
    • LT Chris Clark was traded to Houston for a 2016 seventh-round draft pick (Denver)

Both guys were career backups. Both guys were not expected to make the finally 53 on their previous teams.

I hope he plays! I don’t want to hear any excuses when the Bucs go 2-1!

I wouldn’t write off DeAndre Hopkins. Good WR can make average QBs look good.

LUVMYBUCS Says: Thanks for the Houston update. George Johnson should have a big game with the left side of their OL. Derek Newton has also been struggling. Jacquis Smith should get 2 more. Mallett does not like pressure. Bucs should use a 6 OL set with Stocker at TE. Run the ball and throw quick screens and out routes. Kevin Johnson is playing real well and will probably be on VJAX.

This guy is hurt all the time. He’s a vegan that needs real protein. He should put a damn cheeseburger down the gullet.

    On Monday!

The texans may also be without Hopkins as well. They’re season is looking like disaster at wb and their defense is weak against the pass. If the bucs come out aggressive and throw some deep balls or finding big plays then it can be a huge day for Tampa. The texans have a rush defense but their pass coverage is suspect and may be prone to be lit by plantation passes. I think Marpet will catch Watt on some stunts with Cherilus. Winston really needs to find V jax and Brandon Myers to keep those chains moving. Sims will be a big play threat this week I can feel it###play4WINStonfight4LOViE

Lets just keep our cool, we know how we do with these trap games – We seriously always fall for the “TRAP”
