Tide Turning For Jameis?

August 26th, 2015
Popular sports radio and television personality Adam Schein has some thoughts about America's Quarterback.

Popular sports radio and television personality Adam Schein has thoughts about America’s Quarterback.

One reason Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston is America’s Quarterback is because no no signal-caller in the NFL sparks immediate emotions, positive or negative, like Jameis. It truly is something.

Long-time Jameis critic and popular sports television and radio personality Adam Schein is one of those with a fierce opinion.

The star of “Schein Time” and “That Other Pregame Show” on CBS Sports Network, and “Schein on Sports” heard exclusively on SiriusXM Radio, Schein is in no way a fan of Jameis. Joe suspects if Schein had his way, Jameis would not be playing in the NFL. ( Let there be no mistake, Joe is a big fan of Schein; just doesn’t always see eye-to-eye with his views. Hey, it’s America!)

To Schein’s credit, he gives Jameis props for his play Monday night. But in the long run, Schein thinks Jameis and the Bucs… well, Joe will let Schein himself explain in this CBS Sports video.

4 wins!!!! Does lovie keep his job after a another year like that??????

  3. Buc1987 Says:

“I don’t trust Jameis Winston as a leader.”

That’s where his opinion goes out the window.

  4. R.O. Says:

    Ummmmm…. Season hasn’t started yet.

  5. cometowin2 Says:

    Realist,

If you can’t feel better about Lovie and the Bucs after Monday’s game maybe you should find another team. #Negative Nancy

  6. CL Bucs Says:

Adam Schein has no idea what he’s even talking about. He’s just on a witch hunt after Winston. People like him act like Jameis is the worst kind of character to enter the NFL even though hearing about a player involved in domestic violence has become the new norm in the league.

  7. Buc1987 Says:

Realist I think 6 is Lovie’s magic number.

  8. The Buc Realist Says:

    @cometowin2

I have never seen a coach get a contract extension because they won a week 2 preseason game!!!!

Its a question that needs to be ask, What does 4 wins mean for Lovie?????

  9. The Buc Realist Says:

    @buc1987

I have 5 wins, But lovie gets 1 more year with lots of strings attached with playoff or else!!!

Too many sheep will still be screaming how it takes time!!!

  10. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @Realist

I suspect he would but I’d join you realist as a big critic. He SHOULD at least be able to win 8 or I wouldn’t mind seeing him get tossed even though I like him personally. The only caveat of course is injuries. If Fameis goes down or if a bad number like GMC and LVD went down then all bets are off. After all gotta keep it “real” don’t we.

Honestly I’ll be tremendously disappointed if we don’t win 10 with this defense and Fameis and an improving OL.

    Book it Realist. 10-6 baby!

  11. Big Irish Says:

The Band of Skulls will go 8-8 and that’s good enough to win our division.

  12. Lakeland Buc Says:

Adam Schein has never played in the NFL, he has no credibility. We will win the NFC South, you heard it here. GO BUCS

  13. Lord Cornelius Says:

Realist it is only a question that needs to be asked now for pessimistic waiting to jump off a bridge type fans. Why does anyone NEED to answer a question about some sh1tty hypothetical before the year starts? I’m honestly about to try and never comment again here I’m getting so tired of reading these idiotic freak outs everyday

  14. Joe Cool Says:

People are just jealous Winston isn’t on their team. Including this douche of a reporter…

  15. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Animosity Amigos team member Realist!! is a deception. Answering his asinine questions are futile at best.

  16. Ben the GA Buc Says:

LOL, I’ve never heard of this guy before a few minutes ago, and I’ll probably forget his name later. Moving on …

  17. Buc1987 Says:

LC…you sound like me about 2 years ago. I attacked the pessimists left and right. It drove me crazy. I even took it the extra mile calling them all not real Buc fans. Peeps that have been here awhile and regulars remember how I was back then. I attacked anyone and everyone, that had a negative outlook for our team. Even Joe, I used to say it was his fault for the comments being made. Those fans were depressing people to me. I used to say this site is filled with too many negative posters that look for anything negative just to comment about it. As well as too many posters that look for ways to turn a positive into a negative. Joes articles are great, but the comment section here isn’t for everyone. You’ll run into a lot of negativity. Part of that I think is fueled by Joe’s articles and the other part is the team has sucked for the past 10 years. Or is it longer?

Some dude came on here yesterday saying JBF has way too many homers on this site with rosy glasses on. Which couldn’t be further from the truth.

Neither have the Joes, so why aren’t you questioning their credibility? Everyone’s entitled to an opinion. Where’s your Sirius or CBS radio shows Lakeland?

  19. Buc1987 Says:

Greg…that’s true. Herm Edwards said they had a shot at the Super Bowl before last season.

  20. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Buc1987

LOL, it was true, I think you retired from the comment section at least 10 times. And for the record, I thought I was pretty positive yesterday!!! Anyways, I think it is a relative question, as the owner’s own answer to expectations was “Growth”!!!!

  21. John McKillop Says:

@buc1987, I agree with you. This site is hardly full of fans wearing rose colored glasses. As far as fan negativity goes it’s tough for fans when your team loses 70 of their last 100 games. Myself I think the Bucs will win 6 this year with an outside shot at 8. You never know what will happen if Jameis develops really quickly and our two rookie linemen develop quickly and the team stays healthy you never know what could happen. Go Bucs!

  22. Buc1987 Says:

Realist…well I had season tickets that season for the 1st time ever, all excited for the season. Then I run into JBF and it was like dumping a bucket of ice water over my head, every single day. It drove my wife nuts. At one point she told me to stop telling her all the negative crap that’s said on JBF, because she was tired of hearing about it.

What fans that have a problem with you fail to realize is that you will be just as “real” with the next coach that comes in. Oh yes I attacked you too. It took me awhile and I pretty much hated your ass, but being 1 part realist, 1 part homer I started to get where you were coming from.

My opinion is this comment section would literally suck if we had nothing but optimistic fans coming on it every day. So I welcome both sides. We need something to argue about.

  23. Lord Cornelius Says:

87 I got ya but am probably tuning out regardless. It’s not worth my time getting upset over random internet personas lol. Nothing I really say matters anyway to these people.

There have been a few people with some jaded expectations that can actually put a decent debate together about specific elements of the team but Realist and a lot of others aren’t in that category for me whatsoever.

They are unmovable in their positions and not interested in statistics/facts that contradict their negative belief systems. There is no wavering or admitting to possibilities other than the worse possible outcomes. That isn’t “being real” what so ever. That’s being an ignorant pessimistic a55hole. In my opinion of course. That’s what I get worked up over… them labeling their bs as “objective” or being a “realist”. It’s a f*cking joke in my opinion.

I will continue as I have for years; to try and find as much positivity as I can in this team going into each season and keeping my hopes high. That’s just my style. Might be my last comment for awhile. Wish everyone the best and go bucs!

  24. 813bucboi Says:

im a huge lovie fan..i actually went to school with his son so I believe and trust him with building this team into a power house..i like us for 8-10 games this year..with that said if we were to go 4-12 changes will need to be made..GO BUCS!!!

  25. bucs4lyfe Says:

its a guess and this turd doesn’t know more than anyone else what the bucs record will be. most of us are focused on our team being better and some people are obsessing over whether lovie smith should be the coach like he should be fired before week one of the season. do you really think with all the excitement going around in this town and the bucs organization they they would actually uproot the development of a quarterback drafted first overall if this team on wins 4-6 games? sorry but I think some people really need to find another team, complaining about lovie at every post has gotten old.

  26. Fsuking Says:

If I looked like that, I would be upset too.

  27. passthebuc Says:

everyone has an opinion. that is his and mine is 8/8

  28. JAB83 Says:

So he must be a sports psychologist to be able to determine his skill set and his charactor … Or not but he certainly is a sport comentor like all of us… Oh the dreams of having a TV show to force my opinion on everyone as if I was god… Anyways, now that his opinion has been forced on me by JBF I have to comment… JOE, these kind of comments from talking heads is why I got rid of my cable and TV…. Please don’t subject me to them…. Love to read anyone’s comments that actually TAKE THE TIME TO WRITE THEM…. Its to easy to just vomit out the mouth or re

  29. JAB83 Says:

Also while I’m here and because it pertains to the article… As asked/purposed by a commentor… 8-8 is reasonable and would garner a long term commitment to Movie and company… Anything less only buys him another season MAYBE TWO with his new QB… He did have to coach us to the worst record to cash in on what’s shaping up to be out best ever draft pick and if so… He can someday say it was all part of his master plan…. Or not what do I know… 😉

SAY IT ISN’T SO!!! You are one of my favorite posters. The political blog I visit has an ignore feature so you don’t have to read the nutcases. But I do not feel the need for that here.

Realist, Dallas, and Tmax are OK with me. I read them. Sometimes they make valid points. Mostly I’m sorry for them. Must suck to feel that way. Unable to simply accept the excitement of a new season.

But don’t leave LC. We need all the optimists we can keep here but more importantly your posts are always cogent and great reads.

Hang on! You are the best answer to the Debbie Downers.

  31. LargoBuc Says:

Look, Jameis looked bad week 1 and good week 2. He probably plays somewhere in between through the year with lots of peaks and valley’s. Maybe more peaks if the running game stays consistent.
What will really determine our win total will be our defense. They looked good Monday. Dalton and Green were trying to get in sync but we never let that happen and we did it with a fiur man rush!
I cant give a win total. Its not just about us. There are 31 other team tjat are either better or worse than last year, and we play 13 of them. I think that what ever Lovie did Monday pre game, he needs to do that all season. More important than any stat line, this team came in ready to play some football and it showed. Thats all I wanted to see. The win was just icing.
Now here is what I dont like about Schein. Its obvious he has had an opinion about Jameis since before the draft. A negative opinion. Which is fine. But it seems like for the improvement Jameis showed in game two, Schein just kind of down played it, as if his pre conceived opinion wouldn’t let him tell it how it is. He dosent beleive Jameis can be a leader. Really? Why not? And why bring that up after a good showing Monday night? Its like he just had to throw that in to keep people down on Jameis and rid their memory of how he played, which was good. He wouldnt have to state that had Jameis played poorly. And by the way, isnt leadership an intangible that Jameis possed/s, which is why we drafted him over Mariota? Its quite obvious Schein has an agenda to persuade viewers to share his opinions. I wonder what this guy thinks of Mariota’s leadership skills.

  32. Buc1987 Says:

StPeteBucsFan…your political blog has an “ignore” button?

Wow that’s great for liberals, it must be like watching MSNBC and CNN for the last 6 years.

  33. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Or 87 it could be like watching Fox. Three separate University Studies studied Fox news viewers comprehension of current events and politics. ALL THREE showed Fox viewers knew less than the viewers of any other news channel.
Oh curses the NPR people were the most educated. Sadly one of those University studies showed that Fox news viewers actually knew less than people who watched no news. I guess misinformation and propaganda are a hindrance eh?

I was a journalism major 87 and I read political books of ALL persuasions…no Ann Coulter or idiots though. That would be for the ignore button.

But as you suggest this is a sports blog and trust me…you may know more about the Bucs or FSU than me, but I’d inhale you in any poitical debate.

Sometime if you wish we’ll have to figure out how to exchange email addy’s before Joe gets upset with us for bringing politics to the debate.
