Last night, still under a deadline buzz after covering a thrilling Game 7 win by the Tampa Bay Lightning, the “Custodian of Canton,” eye-RAH! Kaufman of The Tampa Tribune, decided to do a little trolling over the Jameis Winston deniers.
In short, Kaufman stated Bucs fans who deny the notion that Winston will be on the Bucs roster tonight, despite all the rumors flying from inside sources, may want to come to grips with reality.
Anybody out there still questioning whether Jameis Winston will be a Tampa Bay Buccaneer by this time tomorrow? The jig is up, folks

Rather than curse or mumble about the pick, embrace it. He will be a Bucs player, unless this is the most elaborate smokescreen since Operation Overlord.

Unless someone wants to “give up the farm” for him or the certainty of some other team that wants Mariota desperately, we have to expect Winston. And either case would be fine. All the homework and private investigation has been completed…and have to trust in Management to make the right decision.

No one is dening Jameis will be on the roster tonight…..plenty of debate over whether he should be. JOE’s Jameis Organized Enablers….have completly IGNORED Jameis’s flaws both on and off the field….which he has MANY…his rah rah cheer leading will only carry the team so far…..and that won’t be far in the cruel NFL….

I (have said many times) would prefer Mariota, but I have no problem with Winston being the guy….as long as he does these 4 things as a rookie….

What Heisman winner has truly been an outstanding quarterback in the NFL?
Cam Newton is probably your closest. Carson Palmer as well. In the last 15 years, 13 Heisman winners were a QB. Since 2000, 2 have been franchise QB’s. The odds are against us either way we go.

Other than Jameis, Palmer and Leinart, all the other QBs ran some variation of the spread. That will increase your TD numbers, which Heisman voters seem to only look at. Jameis racked up 40 TDs in a pro system, with great RB talent that could have poached a lot of his production.
So the Heisman will favor a QB that might not translate to the pros. Which makes Jameis’ accomplishments look that much more impressive.
