Where Is Chucky?

"Damnit defense, you gotta score! That offense is so pathetic, my dog runs out of the living room when the Bucs are on TV. Jimminy Christmas!"

Damnit defense, you gotta score! That offense is so pathetic, my dog craps on the living room rug when the Bucs are on TV. Jiminy Christmas!”

You know what the Bucs need? The Bucs need to bring in Chucky for a pep talk. Just like Chucky used to bring in motivational speakers, the Bucs sorely need him now.

When Chucky was hired by Team Glazer, he knew the Bucs offense was a work in progress as he took them from the dark ages of Father Dungy to a 21st-century offense. Even Chucky knew it would take time before the offense clicked.

So Chucky challenged the Bucs defense to score. He said great defenses score. And they did, all the way through the Super Bowl.

Right now, the Bucs offense is such a slap in the face to a Pop Warner team, so insulting, so pathetic, so impotent, such an outrage, if the defense doesn’t score, this team is screwed.

Cornerback Alterraun Verner, like a lot of other defenders, didn’t want to hear how the defense played well. In Verner’s mind they didn’t play good enough, even though the Packers held just a one-score lead in the second half.

Verner said the Bucs defense must not only force turnovers, but score.

“I wouldn’t say we got wore down,” Verner said. “They made plays at the end. Things like that we could have stopped. They have weapons, but so do we. We can compete with the best of them. We proved that today. We could have outright dominated them. That is the frustrating thing. We had a chance to be great today, but fell short.

“We kept it real close. If those field goals were touchdowns it would have been out of hand. That is one positive but at the end of the day, we have to find a way to score. We have to do something on our end to spark the offense. We just can’t sit back and wait for things to happen. It is a simple formula, but hard to execute.”

Just how shameful is it that a defense believes it not only has to stop an opposing offense, but it has to play offense as well, and score because the offense is such kick in the crotch?

It make Joe just want to throw a beer bottle at something it is so insulting!

WTF…is it with the local media….why are they dancing around the Lovie Issue ????

  2. tgreg Says:

Hey Lovie is the fool the fans wanted

  3. Another J Says:

Chuckie’s version of a 21st century offense was to dink, and dunk the ball 7 yards at a time with a 40 year old quarterback, lets take of the rose colored glasses Joe!

  4. Another J Says:

    * off.

  5. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Agree Joe lots of us want to throw beer bottles. Hope they’re empties though no need to waste good brew.

I really like Alteraun Verner. Is he Darrelle Reavis? Of course not. But he’s a value for his price, he plays with heart, doesn’t quit and he will stick his head in there to make a tackle.

It would be nice if the Glazers hadn’t split with Gruden on such unsavory terms.
He’d be on my speed dial if I was a Glazer. No not to hire him as HC…he’s not ever going to do that again, his current gig is just too fine.

But again the Glazers need to promote Licht to GM. I mean REAL GM not a figurehead beholden to Lovie. They should read the riot act and tell him he disappointed them completely. But based on the fact he’s a class act, a calming influence, and the players seem to respect him they’ll give him another year but Licht is now in charge of the draft, all personnel decision and LIcht and the Glazers will hire the next OC and oh btw Lovie NO MORE DUNGYBALL. The league has changed!! Open up the freaking offense!!!

“It would be nice if the Glazers hadn’t split with Gruden on such unsavory terms.”
    ————————————–

    There was nothing unsavory.

The Glazer’s took Gruden to a nice long dinner, pumped him for all he knew and promptly fired him the next morning.

  7. Tye Says:

Continuing to employ these bo-bo, generic, low grade HC only continues to remind the fans how colossal a mistake it was to fire Gruden… Until the Bucs find a HC the quality of Gruden, they are destand to struggle and fail year in and year out just as they have been…

2-13 and looking to be the worst Bucs team in 28 years… All thanks to your current hc!

  8. JJV Says:

Dogs crap when they watch the Bucs play. They know better and see a turd for what it is. Others polish that same turd. Like Scott Brantley once said, “you can’t polish a turd”. It’s as simple as that.

  9. LUVMYBUCS Says:

In an unprecedented move, Buccaneers sign Jon Gruden to a 10-year contract worth $60 million.

    …Then I woke up

  10. Java Says:

Yet all the local media says Lovie is safe when this mess is on him

  11. Walter White Says:

If you give Lovie a reliable truck, safely secure, wrap and tie-down all the cargo, print him out a CRYSTAL CLEAR detailed map, give him a full tank AND send him out on a nice clear day with no traffic, he is capable of getting you there.

Just don’t expect much if he has to do any thinking on his own…

  12. StPeteBucsFan Says:

I’m not sure about the Gruden love? Yeah he got us over the hump when Dungy couldn’t but Gruden never improved this team.

Grudens retread style of football is just as boring as Dungyball. Spare me the stats about his record after the SB…RAH freaking won 10 games one year are you ready to bring him back?

  13. Brandon Says:

I once played in a football game that my team won 25-24 and the only offensive points my team scored was 1 point on an XP attempt. The D scored 4 TDs…that being said, that was one of only something like 2 games we won that season. Our offense was very very reminiscent of how the Bucs performed today.

  14. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @StPeteBucsFan

Without any Cap Space + Lack of Premium Draft Picks –
Gru He didn’t Improve the Team?

    • Super Bowl XXXVII title with a 48-21 victory over the Raiders
    • 3- 2 Playoff Record (*2002, 2005, 2007)
    • Division championships (NFC South: 2002, 2005, 2007)

  15. Fort Myers Dave Says:

Can’t fault the defense on this one. The offense is simply in shambles. A bad qb, a worse OL and an overmanned offensive coordinator (thanks again Tedford) result in 109 total yards of offense. Someone besides Arroyo should be held accountable on Black Monday!

  16. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Lets not forget Dungy was fired-After we got Blown by Philly 31–9

Gruden Beat Philly 27-10 / SuperBowl

Sounds like an improvement-yes or no?

  17. Thomas 2.2 Says:

Media knows Lovie gets another year.

Make no mistake, he’s been awful. QB situation’s a disaster. McCown is an embarrassment.

Lovie was talking playoffs this summer. Hold him to that.

  18. John Valenti Says:

Fire Lovie! Bring in Gruden. Bring in Harbaugh. Bring in Chip Kelly and let Jon Maddon be the waterboy! Because it’s j u s t that e a s y. Smh. ((Sigh)) you fans. By golly.

Let’s trade our whole draft AND next two year’s first ROUND for Bill Bellichick. Lmao. You guys crack me up. It’s OBAMA’S fault!

  19. John Valenti Says:

Turnover is not.good in any line of work. Sometimes it’s necessary but a 3rd coach in 4 years is NOT going to be good. ANOTHER DC for David and McCoy is not going to further their development. We’re already going to rebuild the oline this offseason, again. That’s going to be more trouble for next year.

Turnover is not good. Few coaches make a quick turnaround in 1 year. This is not a veteran.laden team like our 02 boys. It’s a relatively young group in need of a few key spots and depth. Let him build it. In 3 yrs in.Chi Lovie had Rex and the Bears in the SB and had the 3rd ranked O that year. Crazy, I know.

  20. Soggy Says:

Damn how can anybody bucs fan on here cut down gruden, I know to make yourself feel better about your love for loser lovie.. Lovie blows compared to gruden..

  21. John Valenti Says:

Bellichick took over for a Parcells built.team and didnt win his first year. Coughlin was nearly ousted in NY before two SBs. It takes time and it’s still not completely a Lovie built team. No doubt the Bucs skipped QB and went with MCcown as a stop gap between this year and next. Still more moves to make to complete the team. Time and patience people. Not like we’ve been blowing the doors off the league prior to this year or in our history at all, really.

  22. John Valenti Says:

the same people looking to fire lovie are the same people that ran Gruden out of townmany

  23. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Bull Sh#t- Everyone in my family was pissed…Still Pissed

  24. mikeh Says:

  25. mikeh Says:

whoops sorry people hit wrong key lol!

  26. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

Why aren’t more people calling for WARHOP’S head, I mean he is the o-line coordinator. Just keep calling coach smith names & calling for his job while letting WARHOP off the hook.

  27. mikeh Says:

new bucs fan who hired worhop? get it this head coach is running it all no? its on him period!

  28. mikeh Says:

ya smith real stand up guy? never once this year have I heard him say or read where he says my bad! ya he s..ks! period! bla bla bla abot he was left with this team! cuz we all know who he got rid of and who he brought in! bullcrap !

  29. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

Like any HC as ever said that one of his position coaches sucked while he was still there. Whatever dudes keep it up if it makes you feel better or if it’s your job, who knows

  30. ufcguy Says:

By the way gruden won the super bowl his first yr. He didn’t go 2 and 14. I never c wanted gruden gone. He also had to dumpster dive for talent bc the glazes didn’t spend. He was never given the option like Smith or any of these coaches. Yet he still got it done.

  31. BritBucsince92 Says:

Warhop must go, but that is a foregone conclusion with a new OC coming in.

  32. John Valenti Says:

Just three days ago, Mike H jumped on my ass about calling some of our fans ignorant to football and life. He felt I got too pwrsonal. Clearly, he felt I was calling HIM out. As I said then,”if the shoe fits, wear it”. Well Cinderella, I’d like to add HYPOCRITE to that.

Now crawl back into your trailer, ask ma not to burn the meatloaf this time and read a book. Cuz you sir, have failed at life. Please don’t reproduce. #Go Bucs!
