Demar Dotson discusses his move to left tackle in great detail

Last week, after the loss to the Stinking Panthers, Bucs left tackle Demar Dotson told reporters he was flipped from his normal right tackle position on orders from “upstairs.”

To Joe, upstairs is a loaded word in NFL jargon.

To Joe, that means guys who work in offices all day wearing collared shirts. So Joe speculated who was “upstairs” giving orders?

Earlier this week, Joe got a chance to chat with the affable Dotson to get clarification on who was upstairs. Dotson, surprised at the question, came clean.

“Upstairs,” Dotson said while chuckling with his ever-present wide smile. “The coaches upstairs.”

So there you have it. The order didn’t come behind the scenes from general manager Jason Licht or Team Glazer. It was the coaching staff.

If he is not performing well, any manager runs the risk of losing his autonomy. The Glazers are pretty “hands-off” owners…..but, I suspect they will have a heavy hand in the selection of an OC…..I seriously doubt they will let Lovie & Licht make that decision on their own given all the mistakes made in FA.

Remember that one time when lovie made a good descision about the offense

Off topic but I’m Watching gameday this morning and Shaun ohara just called Ted larsen the mvp of the whole Cardinals offense

Just a few observations. The owners have only gotten involved with HC or GM changes. They don’t pick players. So, that brings it down to Jason and Lovie. Quite honestly, I would like to see Lovie take a back seat. He doesn’t know offense….just wants to run the ball 90% of the time. Jason has to look out for our immediate future and the long term needs. He has shown he is a wheeler dealer (which I love). All the FA’s and draft picks are not gonna hit, but play the percentages. Bring in 12 free agents and maybe 4 or 5 will be winners, along with 3 or 4 draft picks. 7 new starters could well send us on our way back to competitiveness.

Demar Dotson continues to be a silver lining on a dark cloud for the last few years.

If he could play LT he would have been playing LT….if it turns out he can play LT…bad on the coaching staff for not realizing it until now…anybody that believes any of the PR crap out of One Buc is a retard…it is insulting to the fan base
