Cutting Charles Sims

October 10th, 2014

SimsIt’s the video sweeping the nation and inspiring hope among Bucs fans.

It’s Charles Sims cutting on the fields of One Buc Palace and looking good while he continues rehabbing his repaired ankle.

Bucs beat writer Jenna Laine has Vined the footage. Check it out below.

As Joe delivered earlier this week, Bucs GM Jason Licht says Sims is way ahead of schedule and is expected to play in Cleveland on Nov. 2.

This is great to hear — and see — about the rookie third-round pick. Joe’s certain Doug Martin is paying attention.

    Our savior!! Lmao

Seriously you guys crack me up.

  2. Kent K Says:

I hope he is as advertised

  3. Robert 9 Says:

we need this guy bad, but i don’t see him doing much better than DM short of catching the ball and getting creamed 5 yards back. when the box is stacked the screens behind the LOS don’t work so well. they need to throw the damn ball on 1st….play action or something.

  4. bucstop.com Says:

DB55–when your running backs are getting you nowhere, and you have one that is compared to Matt Forte, he could be a big difference.

  5. biff barker Says:

Hopefully he can provide a similar spark to the O like the Cannon has.
    Honorable mention to Murphy.

  6. biff barker Says:

I hope Arroyo had a glimpse of how Tedford planned to use Sims.
    That would be nice.

  7. DB55 Says:

    Bucstop

Matt Forte, that’s hilarious. One major difference forte has missed 8 games in 6 years.

  8. Cannon Says:

The title of this post nearly gave me a heart attack.

  9. gregoirebucsfan Says:

Agreed with cannon. Need to rethink that title.

  10. buc4lyfe Says:

Hmmm wasn’t this josh Freeman like timing. Anything to take the focus off bad football, fyi we have more than enough on the offensive side of the ball to play .500 ball so it’ll be another good player to come in and get lost in the chaos. Nice try bucs but I expect to see improved play with the guys we have. Even the defense should be much better so it’s time to take the blame above player level. I bet Glennon could look even better if not for the pathetic game planning

  11. Gus Says:

The title of this article…….I thought Sims was GETTING cut…. I was like oh snap.

  12. JK Says:

The title of this post nearly made me choke! Good one Joe..

  13. mpmalloy Says:

    CHARLES SIMS IS CUT!?!?
    WWHHHYYY!?!! WWWHHHYYYY!!?

  14. Jim Says:

Robert9 – you hit the nail on the head. If you & I can figure out that the Bucs need to mix things up a bit rather than running on 1st down 90% of the time, why can’t the coaching staff?

  15. Buccfan37 Says:

A team like the Bucs needs all the help it can get offensively. Any spark to the output will be appreciated. This offense is heavily dependent on rookies and first year Bucs players to show their worth. In that respect, yes it is a rebuilding year for the downtrodden Bucs. Any recently drafted high pick must produce the reason behind that selection.

  16. mpmalloy Says:

The line can’t run block worth a s*it.

  17. Mitch Says:

    Nice hook, Joe.

  18. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

    Clever title is clever.

  19. OB Says:

    Joe

The biggest difference with Sims is that he is much taller and is a trip for a CB on a play play or run for that matter.

  20. OB Says:

    Meant pass play

  21. Delson Says:

    Hook line and sinker

  22. RastaMon Says:

    You guys don’t know Joe…

  23. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Simms can also line up in the slot….or move to the slot in a 2 back set…..which I’d like to see more of……

  24. RastaMon Says:

Cutting ???…hope he can leap over the offensive line…

  25. Architek Says:

It’s called options and he gives the play caller flexibility.

  26. Scott Says:

Glad we got this guy. Alot of the RB rookie class are running lights out… Hope Sims can do the same

  27. Bucfever40 Says:

Surely this video was meant as a joke, right? I’m psyched that he’s way ahead of schedule, but there is NOTHING in this video to suggest he looks great “cutting”. Now if you’re saying he’s walking around without a limp, then maybe this clip shows that, but nothing more……just sayin’.

  28. ToesOnTheLine Says:

Eager to see Sims in real game action, but between coming back from an ankle injury and probably not breing in midsession form like most other players I am expecting Martin to carry the rock barring injury and Sims worked into a rotation role with Rainey this year

  29. rayjay1122 Says:

That video is not too exciting showing him “Cutting”. I have seen little old ladies at the casino do the same move to grab an empty slot machine!

  30. Andrew 1 Says:

Yea, that wasn’t an intentionally misleading title at all. lol. At least I know I’m awake now!

  31. PanthersSuck! Says:

    That was a cut?

  32. PanthersSuck! Says:

    Low bar…

  33. WalkdaPlank Says:

Who cut Charles Sims? Mike Williams’ brother?

  34. buctebow Says:

Maybe she meant cutting the cheese? From that distance for her to hear it, he must have really ripped a big one. Better check the drawers for a hash mark.

  35. Teacherman777 Says:

    Great.

Our two slow, sorry safteties are playing catch.

How great. They are doing what we have been seeing all season.

Opponents catching balls in their faces. All game.

    Our safeties suck!!

And they both party too much.

    Thanks Dom!!

  36. DallasBuc Says:

Ok so the 3rd round RB that no one ever heard of until the end of the 2nd day of the draft coming off of ankle surgery is gonna out play freaking Doug Martin behind this mediocre patchwork oline? You people make me laugh…and by “you people” I mean that overpaid, under-performing lapdog of a GM and all the fan police that try to insist on validating his poor choices.
    Go Bucs.

  37. Bojim Says:

I agree with toes and DallasBuc.

  38. Rex Says:

And then there’s people that just read the title and don’t read the story @mpmalloy lmao
