No forced turnovers = D grade

11% gave the Bucs a B? Listen the offense sucked I get that. The offense went 3 and out way to often in the first half leaving our D on the field on a challenging day.

What disturbed me is that Carolina seemed to do what they wanted. And NO rush until GMAC got one near the end.

This was not a suffocating defense fighting for every blade of grass. It was Mike Shula either outsmarting Leslie Frazier big time or we’re not nearly as talented as we think.

Carolina is a good team. No shame in losing to them, even at home. Like many fans have stated on this site, I expect improvement every game building momentum to a fine season when all is said and done.

Why does this poll stop at “F”? Is there a lower grade we can give them?

    What defense?

  7. unbelievable Says:

Actually, I’ll give the defense in the 2nd half a C- they only allowed 1 td.

Oh, Came Newton wasn’t even playing? Nevermind.

Our defense couldnt get pressure on imobile backup derek anderson. Our prevent defense allowed him to dink and dunk and establish a rushing attack. We should have not been playing catch up when derek freaking anderson is the qb. Imagine what cam wouldve done. Imagine what brees and matty ice will do to us. Our defense is supposed to be our strength and a back up qb just took us to school. We look lightyears behind the other three teams in our division.

  9. BucTrooper Says:

You let DEREK ANDERSON BEAT YOU. This is someone the BROWNS said, “You know what…. we’re okay without you.”

  10. Couch Fan Says:

Extremely disheartening to see this team constantly screw themselves no matter who is coaching or QBing.

  11. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Defense wasn’t great, but bottom line is they only gave up 20, and if I’m not mistaken 17 of those were off of turnovers (might be 10). That’s not too bad considering we barely breathed on the QB. However, that right there is the problem. We were absolutely dominated on the line of scrimmage. There was no pass rush, aside from an occasional rush by a triple teamed GMC. That is going to bite us in the arse against a better offense. Can you imagine giving Brees that kind of time? We’ll be lucky to hold them to 50 if so. Johnson, Clayborn, etc. better do something, because that wasn’t good enough.

Bucs paid for mishandling/ignoring the offensive line.
    No holes for running backs.
    No protection for quarterback.

Hard to control the ball or score without a competent Oline!

    Very discouraged.

This is more of a poll on the percentage of people that know anything about football as well as the recent history of the Bucs.

8% of the people on this page who graded A/B either do not understand football or are the mother’s of the players.

Even giving a C for a defensive unit that showed the same single playmaker as last year playing alongside a group that cannot beat the SINGLE person they’re matched up against – is as overly generous as paying Michael Johnson as much as we did coming off a 3 sack season.

Wow, I was the only person that thought the Buc’s D deserved an A? Wtf did you think was going to happen when our O did nothing the first 3.5 quarters? That was a 12-4 team we just played. With a minus 3 turnover ratio, the D kept us in it. KB made some plays, are you surprised, did you not watch college football last year?
