“About The Only Thing We Did Well”

September 8th, 2014

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Lovie Smith found a bright spot on the stat sheet yesterday.

Man, he might have had to scan that thing a couple of times.

Speaking from the One Buc Palace podium this afternoon, the Bucs’ head coach said he liked that the Tampa Bay offense 6-of-12 on third down in the loss to the Stinking Panthers.

“About the only thing we did well,” Lovie said of the conversion rate.

Yes, 50 percent on third down is excellent. San Diego led the league in that category last year at 49 percent. The Bucs? Well, they were ranked 31st in the league at 31.2 percent.

Lovie’s Bears teams were consistently poor on third down, per ESPN stats.

    if you get a 1st or 2nd down you don’t need 12 3rd downs!

  2. RastaMon Says:

The only bright spot yesterday was the SUN beating down on all Buc Fans….

  3. Greg Says:

    Lovie = fail
At least Schiano told it the way it was.

  4. lightningbuc Says:

Whoopity-freakin-do, most of the conversions were in mop up time.

Still have not heard or read any reason why Lovie chose to punt from the Carolina 36, instead of try a 53 yard FG. I was at the game – did the TV announcers give an indication as to why? If Murray can’t convert from there, then why is he here?

  5. Jeagan1999 Says:

There were a few (very few) decent individual performances yesterday, but that’s about all the sunshine you’re gonna find! When your Oline can’t pass protect, your Dline can’t get pressure on the opposing QB (who by the way was a backup who really hadn’t played a meaningful game in several years), your 35 year old QB acts like a 20 year old rookie and you turn the ball over three times…guess what? That being said, liked what I saw from Evans, ASJ, Lane, LVD and Verner for the most part. Not enough to have a few guys play well….the whole team needs to bring it on Sundays!

  6. RastaMon Says:

lightningbuc ..agree about the FG….I was there..and I think we had no points on the score board at the point ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

  7. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

Again if our backup qb, revamped average oline, poor d-ends and terrible safties can hold that panthers team (missing only cam newton) to 17 points than the Bucs are moving in the right direction. Give this D a year to learn and draft Winston, guard, mlb, DE

  8. robert9 Says:

only a new fan would say give them another year.

  9. Buccfan37 Says:

    Yeah Lovie, WTF!

  10. lightningbuc Says:

only a new fan would say “missing only cam newton”

  11. RastaMon Says:

No Honeymoon…..new staff…big turn over on the roster…a team like this can not approach pre season like an established team…the Bucs needed MUCH MUCH more work with starting units……much much more…those games don’t count…this decision making troubles me to no end….

  12. Ray Rice Says:

The best thing I saw yesterday was Dougie continue with his putrid running. I wont be out of work for long……… “Dougie…… im swinging for the (chin) fences…… Hello Tampa Bay.”…….. “Dam I hope Schiano can put in a good word for me.”

  13. Soggybottom Says:

    Being a bucs fan=idiotic

10 years of an absolute crap product and staying a fan= even more idiotic

10 years of an absolute crap product and hearing our beloved tampa sports radio personalities tell us we need to be “patient” = speechless

  15. Brandon Says:

Only a new fan would overreact to a loss. How many Dungy’s team started 2-3 or 1-3 and still made the playoffs? How many Super Bowl winning Bucs teams started with a home loss to a division opponent on opening day? The one and only one.

  16. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

Again, the Bucs don’t run this tampa-2 business all the time. mostly on third and long, they do a lot of cover-3 & 1 and when they get it down all will be well. The seattle seahawks run a similar scheme and look at their D now. Lovie’s scheme has worked in Chicago superbowl, seattle (superbowl), and it will in Tampa. The Bucs D held that panthers team to 17 points and have just started playing it. And they still could have won that game!

  17. Kevin1 Says:

If I hear another stupid a** say we need to be patient I’m going to blow a gasket. I’ve seen crap for 10 years I’m over this patience shit I’m hearing. Other than about 5 or 6 years this entire organization has been a complete pile of stinky crap. What would be surprising is if this organization had a good team once in awhile. Yesterday wasn’t surprising at all. More like typical

  18. The_Buc_Realist Says:

hmmmm, I thought that Lovie would have said the only thing they did well was that the team was able to all arrive to the stadium on time.

  19. billy buckaroo Says:

How many were in the last qtr

  20. Kevin1 Says:

Yesterday was the perfect representation of this franchise. It’s how it’s always been and it will always be couple seasons of being good then right back to the crapper.

  21. Greg Says:

    Agree Kevin 1
Im sick of hearing the same old crap
Lovie can’t even answer a simple question when asked. All u get is the run around

  22. Reezy Says:

Don’t matter how good we are on 3rd down if we don’t score points AND win games!

  23. Kevin1 Says:

    @brandon

    You moron.

    Overreact really?

Did u become a fan yesterday or something?

Where have u been the last ten years?

    Overreact lol.
    Man what an idiot.

  24. Kevin1 Says:

    @greg

Finally someone who has some sense.

Man it’s the same song and dance every single year.

Year after year after year. Same crap. I’m totally over it.

  25. mpmalloy Says:

This Steaming Pile of **** has come to head.
The Glazerhouses are ****ing scamming us all
Year after year like the idiots we are.
    *No Contract for McCoy
*The 3rd lame as excuse for a staff since their Dad’s hire was fired.
*I know we voted a 1 cent sales tax in crease to fund the stadium
Not sure if the 1 cent still goes to the G-boys to this day. If so,
    then it’s a ****ing abomination.
    *Terrible joke of new uniforms.
*Poor service and tacky upkeep of RayJay
*I went to the Miami game and good sick as
a dog off the food in the club lounge.

WHAT THE **** IS THIS ****????
    HOW ****ING GULLIBLE ARE WE???
    HOW ****ING STUPID ARE WE???

  26. lightningbuc Says:

We suck on opening day damn near every year.

Every year, a couple of people tell the rest of us to not overreact, it’s just the first game – everything will be fine.

Every year, despite them telling us not to overreact, the Bucs keep on sucking.

  27. Buc Fan #237 Says:

LOL… at least we won the super bowl of the off-season.

You guys need a few other hobbies while the season is actually being played.

Because watching these games will stress you out on a Sunday afternoon. I say, record the game and then watch what you can later while fast forwarding to the good plays (which aren’t many).

  28. Orca Says:

Did anyone think this team would not struggle out of the gate? I don’t understand the degree of complaining, the bashing of Lovie. After 1 game no less… Your complaints do not speed up the time it takes for this team to get turned around. Lovie and Licht’s mistake was to publicly state that they didn’t want fans to be patient, cuz that just gave intolerant bastards license to be even bigger a-holes.

  29. Andrew 1 Says:

    Mpmalloy

All that’s left is for you to jump. Seriously dude, get a grip. Same goes for the rest of you.

  30. RastaMon Says:

No Love for Lovie….just said Richie Incognito is not an option…

  31. lightningbuc Says:

    Orca,

As I asked another poster earlier, how long will it take for the team to get turned around? Should I wait 5 games, 11 games, 2 seasons? We’ve been told the last 7 years that it takes time to turn the Bucs around. I”m getting tired of waiting.

  32. Soggybottom Says:

Other teams turn it around fast, is not carolina kind of rebuilt, oh and they beat us with there back up QB. Shamey shame on us in our house….

  33. Orca Says:

Does getting yourself worked up into an irrational froth speed up anything? This is a new coach, new systems, a crapload of new players. If you thought it was going to be an instant turnaround you were dreaming and setting yourself up for disappointment. Does it help to get all self-righteous about how long you’ve waited? Does that make it any better? Does all this stuff really matter all that much?

  34. mpmalloy Says:

    Lol @ the shills.
Why do I call you shills?
Because you would have to be getting paid
to still defend this crap. Either that (and I say
this with all due respect) or you’re an idiot.

    **** 12 years of rebuilding.
If you’re OK with that then you’re either
    getting paid or a chump.

  35. buc4lyfe Says:

No wonder no one talked about the bucs on any gameday pre game show. I’m actually curious why he’s looking for positives after a game like that… Bad bad play is what needs to be fixed, one buc place country club, of your in your 3rd or 4th season and you need to be taught how to pass rush or your 13th being told it’s actually OK to throw the ball out of bounce instead of up for grabs…. Aaah whatever, I think 5 winds sound about right, how much worse would it have been with cam at quarterback

  36. Andrew 1 Says:

    @ Orca

Don’t ya know? The Glazers are sabliminaly making us all be bucs fans! Damn those Glazers, if only I could choose not to root for the bucs…

Can’t believe they’re comparing Doug Martin to me. That dude can’t even hit a hole. At least we know I can hit something….

    Ray Rice

  39. buc4lyfe Says:

This article makes us look really like he’s all hype like mike shannahan he hasn’t changed with the league and getting left behind. You need to hire stat geeks for that positive? I could be won’t but just doesn’t seem like many of those third down conversions mattered because they still stalled on every drive

  40. Ur mom Says:

Newbucsfan, we’ll pass on drafting the rapist.

  41. Andrew 1 Says:

Yea I guess I’m an idiot. Hey, you know what’s even more idiotic? Non stop biching about something you have no control over!

  42. Ray Rice Says:

If I hear anyone else say…… (“In 2002, Super Bowl year, Tampa Bay lost the home opener as well”)……. im going to catch the first flight to Tampa, find the closest elevator, and sock the $h*t out of someone.

  43. Soggybottom Says:

@Ray Rice- dont do that you may get a 2 game suspention..

  44. Bucnjim Says:

I think most of the frustration comes from the fact that the Bucs had ALL off season to prepare for a Panthers team that is basically one dimensional. Not like they had to worry about them going down field 20 times even with Newton. Then you look at the Panthers coaches who came up with the run option to freeze the Bucs LB’s with several double moves that worked like a charm….Very Creative work on their part. The Panthers basically did what they always try to do and that is control the line of scrimmage. It’s just sad that they were able to do it with a completely revamped offensive line.

  45. johnnytheMOON Says:

i think its the fact that most shook their head at the McCown signing and now it appears fans may be right …

  46. Bobby Says:

No, the Ravens cut him and he’s banned indefinitely now.

  47. Trubucfan22 Says:

If you’re fed up then go cheer for the dolphins. No one is forcing you to be a Buc fan. GTFO if you can’t handle a 6 point loss.

  48. Ray Rice Says:

@Soggybottom… Vince McMahon just called me. He said he wants to sign me up for WWE Smackdown…. in other related news…… Tony Dungy is waiting patiently to co-sign another punk!!! While Lovie Smith contemplates the signing of Rex Grossman…….

  49. Trubucfan22 Says:

3rd down conversion is a huge stat if we want to win games. We couldn’t convert last season which why we had the worst offense in the league. The fact we didn’t give up his game and Entire bucs team made a valiant forth quarter rally is very encouraging. McCown did perform well in the forth quarter. Better than glennon ever looked I the forth quarter, and had a better third down conversion rate than glennon ever had. Just sayin

  50. Trubucfan22 Says:

    My English is terrible lol

  51. Orca Says:

It’ still a little early to start with dire predictions, calling for peoples’ heads, etc… It’s one ugly loss, and people are acting like things can’t improve. Craziness. Like, literally, a sign of poor mental health.

  56. Orca Says:

People seem to forget that Dungy’s first team started 0-5 and then 1-8. There were dire predictions then too. Whiners such as those on this thread were having to change diapers more frequently. Things turned around. Now, some people want to be first on the bandwagon of doomsaying, so they can get a leg up on “I told you so…” Enjoy your misery.

  58. Orca Says:

^^ Or you could continue to marinate in your own miserable prickishness. Your choice.

  59. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Even the positive thinkers and emotionally steady types were having a real hard time finding anything, anything at all, to like about the team they say yesterday. It’s getting old watching McCoy & David perform while no one around them helps out, on either side of the ball.

  60. FLBoyInDallas Says:

    ^ “saw” yesterday

  61. Ole Bill Says:

I mean it does suck that the team hasn’t made progress but I think what was shown on the field yesterday was a team that hasn’t played as a team that long(the offense that is). Bitching about it on here isn’t going to make things better. I have faith that the team will be better by the end but I never had high hopes for this season, until we have a good quarterback I doubt my hopes will ever be that high. But most of you sound like the bucs were Super Bowl favorites or something, stop being so ridiculous or just stop watching. Try being mariners and pirates fan for the past 25 years now that has been miserable.

  62. lightningbuc Says:

Raheem Morris’ first team started 0-5 and then 1-8. Just sayin’.

  63. RastaMon Says:

Orca….Lovie is not Tony Dungy….he is/was a TD protege…that was hired from Tony staff ….he is anchored in the past. While a good man of high character and is an experienced coach….I simply do not see /feel any leadership qualities . He sure can talk the talk…if you know what I mean…Vern…

  64. Boomer33 Says:

With Cam out I expected us to win the game. It didn’t happen. If Dashon catches that ball and runs it in, we win. Those of you who act like this is the end of the world, ask yourself how a Bears fan feels like today. We got beat by a team that was in the playoffs last year. They got beat by Buffalo. Both of those losing teams will win games this year. One game does not a season make.

  65. ruggyup Says:

Find a few stats having little analytical value and build a Bucs case. Fine. We were outplayed and outcoached. Best we find what the team can change and get back to work.

  66. Joe Dunn Says:

    1) Team goes 0-1 2) Fans write on blogs and wring their hands over, and over 3) Sunshine Skyway not busy . . . . .yet

Hang in there folks……they can still go 15-1 !!!!

  67. Kevin1 Says:

1-15 would be more believable mr joe Dunn

  68. Kevin#1 Says:

So many more people from Chicago would be on here bashing Lovie today had the bears not lost to an under rated team. I’m disappointed in the way the game was played by the Bucs yesterday, but I’ll give it another week to get clicking. Lot’s of QB’s struggled yesterday. Let’s see if they can have a smooth day next Sunday

  69. SOOFIERCE Says:

I was at that game and truely felt embarrassed by the weak sauce non-performance from our “Veteran” starting QB! At least Glennon throws down field some how!

  70. BUCSLEGENDS Says:

I’ve been a Bucs fan since day one, LIVED THROUGH 0-26. While I now it’s hard to imagine things have been worse for us Bucs fans. If you’re old enough to remember you know what I’m talking about. I want to win as badly as anyone. I live in Cali and didn’t meet another Bucs fan face to face (except for my dad and brother) until I was 40 and that was after we won the Super bowl. So I’ll tell you the truth it FREAKIN’ pisses me off to hear all of this spit talking about my team… from “Bucs fans” no less. I’ve been following JBF (GREAT JOB GUYS) for 3 seasons now and I think it time for some of you (YOU NOW WHO YOU ARE) to find a new team !!!!!!! Voicing your opinion is one thing, but constantly bashing your own team is a different story. Sorry if I’m sounding so harsh, but I’ve heard/hear enough trash talking from other teams fans. So either find another team or TURN THAT FROWN UPSIDE DOWN !!!!!!! GO BUCS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  71. Soggybottom Says:

And I thought philly fans were nasty..

  72. Mathius Says:

If the head coach has to tell the fans the “positive” takeaways from a game, then we could be in for a long season.

Listen to bill-a-cheat press confrence and he only mentions what needs ton improved.

What scares me about McCown is he was hand picked by Lovie. father Dungy couldn’t identify an talent and neither could anyone from his coaching tree.

  73. Mathius Says:

I think the fan base may have reacted less harshly if Lovie would have came out after training camp and told the fans Dominick left this place all messed up and it is gonna take 3 – 5 years to build a winner. So please temper your expectations.

Instead Lovie told us no honeymoon. We are winning this year. Either he doesn’t know what he is talking about or he lied. No grays just black or white.

  74. buddha Says:

Lovie has consistently said we are a 4-12 team. He has said nothing else. He doesn’t sugar coat, but he isn’t going to go all ballistic in the media. You can analyze without condemning. The fact is we were one play away from winning the game though we played lousy. I fault Lovie for being outcoached. He simply did not prepare for Anderson; he prepared for Cam. He got fooled. The offensive line is bad–no ifs, ands, or buts about it. They have to fix it somehow or we’re going to see the same thing every week. I’m not going to bitch about McCown’s mental errors. They aren’t excusable and he admitted as much. But he also showed some savvy in not hanging his head and leading two good scoring drives in which he was constantly pressured, putting us in position to win at the end. The sky is not falling, but when you start 7 new players on offense, you’re going to struggle. This game was lost by defense not the offense. It was reminiscent of last year when the defense just couldn’t get off the field.

  75. Willie D Says:

    Curse of Eric Page

  76. Greg Says:

When you hear the team talk about how the fan base deserves a winner and that the team needs to win now then you see what was put on the field Sunday it makes you think they have no clue in what they are doing.
And o ya dont preach to me about being a loyal supporting fan. I have supported this team for more than 20 years and will continue to do so. Just sick of all the bull and think this coach we have shows us fans no respect With his arrogant attitude.

  77. Soggybottom Says:

@ Mathius, So true, when anybody repeats what L&L said the win now team thing, people say what was he supposed to say, How about Don’t bring it up, they brought it up…. Lovie also said, before the panthers game the team did not need a prep talk, well a inspiring prep talk might of helped we came out flat.. Get em going light a fire under them there bucs.. Oh Ya..

  78. Jimbo Says:

Wow, I am surprised at all the total haters! You hated Schiano and wanted Lovie, then you get upset that we lost our first game with the new regime by six points. Schiano one his first game with the Bucs, at rayjay, against the panthers, and Schiano turned out to be a disaster. It was ONE game that we lost by six points to a quarterback with a 100+ rating for the game, no more no less. Keep hating you bandwagon fans.

  79. Jimbo Says:

@Greg do us all a favor and pick a different team if you don’t like anything about this one

  80. chef paul misses 1987 Says:

@lightning about the 53 yard fg.

Yes the anoumcers did say something and you are going to hate it!! I think you better sit down for this.

They said his max range was around 53 yards. But they chose him instated of 50+ yard master Barth

  81. danxbucsfan Says:

I am done with bucs football 12 years wasted my new team is Seattle Seahawks at least I can watch great Defense again and relive the great memories #99, 55 gave us. This team will never be great again.

  82. Greg Says:

    @ Mr Jimbo
I will always be a bucs fan.
I just say it like I see it. If the coaching staff would do the same then maybe we would not be having this conversation.
    Sick to watch

  83. nate Says:

The only thing were doing well is learning how to lose! The defense sucks no pressure people say oh they only got 17 points on turnovers… it was against derek anderson come on peole he sucks! As for the offense the oline is a little better but one of the worse in the nfl.. and as it stands the bucs have the worse qb jn the nfl and backups are playkng better then him! This team is garbage all over the place….

  84. Greg Says:

    @nate
It makes me sick to my stomach to know this coaching staff cleaned house on our team that was not very good to begin with and this is what we got.
    Sad

  85. BucFanForever Says:

I thought of 2 more positives:

    1. Dashon Goldson didn’t get any personal fouls
    2. There wasn’t a humiliating Schiano kneel-down play.

  86. Soggybottom Says:

I think I know what will get the team to come out with some fire, just show them the tape of the panthers team on the side line laughing it up and such, and remember it was in our house..

  87. Bob Says:

This first game, for me, was difficult to comprehend. As I watched the game, it seemed like deja vu. We started last year with an absolute disaster and now were 0-1. The real gut wrenching feeling is 2014 is the same as 2013……nothing seems to have changed. We can’t move the ball, we can’t stop them on third down, we can’t sack the quarterback etc., etc. How long must we endure these shortcomings? Am I wrong to ask “Why”? Right now, Josh scares me. He looked like a high school quarterback, not a seasoned pro who will lead us to the playoffs. God, I hope this is an aberration, not the real deal! There is supposedly a lot of talent on this team. Hopefully, it will come together before the season is quickly lost and we become inconsequential and can only look to next year.

  88. Islandbucsfan Says:

    Geesh,

Take a turn to negative town why don’t you…. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Give the team a chance. We have a new sheriff in town, give him time to clean up the streets. 4-12 or 12-4, I will ALWAYS represent my team. GO BUCS!!!!

  89. Orca Says:

1 game. That’s all it is. 1 game. All you whiners are making it more than that.

  90. Couch Fan Says:

I will always represent my team to but realistically we looked worse than a 4-12 yesterday.

  91. Capt. Blighe Says:

Hard to see any positives when your QB is so terrible.
I thought Glennon held the ball to long, This idiot McClown does’nt even want to throw it. SHOULD OF DRAFTED JF

  92. Mr Lucky Says:

To those who tell us, “give it time…it will turn around.”

I produce to you as evidence of your Bullspit the Texans who last year were 2-14 and went out with a new coach, new QB, etc., and SPANKED the REDSKINS.

Look at the Atlanta Falcons who sucked last year – they looked UGLY in the first quarter but FOUGHT and actually BEAT the Saints in OT.

Cut the crap about how long it takes, shut up and win damnit!

  93. Mr Lucky Says:

But then again with the new uniforms the only thing missing is the Bozo red nose.

Glazers, I HOPE you read this board:

Man up and get the right people down here and the right players NOW!

  94. Kevin1 Says:

I love the “Rome wasn’t built in a day” crap.

Or in 10 years either lol.
    But oh be “patient”

How can anyone defend anything at all is beyond me.

Exactly to a “T” the same crap product as last year with different names.

And if you people can’t see it then you are all blind as a bat.

I mean seriously did anyone watch the game. I know what I saw so there is no defense to that crap.

I saw the texans win. With new “everything” just like the bucs.

And stop with the only “6” points bulls**t. It wasn’t even competitive. We wouldn’t be as upset if they lost looking halfway like an NFL team.

  95. Kevin1 Says:

Anyone that says give it “time” is a new fan and has no idea what they’re in for as a fan of the bucs. Give it time. Lmao. Just hilarious.

  96. DallasBuc Says:

There is a real problem with the talent evaluation. How do you get rid of serviceable at-worst vets in favor of overpaid, inexperienced, under performing FAs? It seems easy to blame that rook GM Licht but we all know Lovie pulls rank on the personel decisions. A proven, experienced GM that has the final say on who gets signed is the proper relationship. This thing may have been doomed from the start when Lovie stipulated final say on personel when hired and then hand picked an inexperienced GM that would be subordinate to him. No way to run a team.

  97. Greg Says:

The sooner we stop this Lovie experiment the better off we will be.
    Pathetic

The offensive line wasn’t that bad, McCown had plenty of time to throw. This one’s on him. Sad part; he’ll be our qb for the next game.

  99. cmurda Says:

This is the point I usually say relax, the sky is not falling but I’ve already said it, so I won’t. I’ll reserve judgment until I get to see Tedford actually out there calling plays. It’s easy to forget that if Goldson doesn’t have snot hands, we likely win the game.

  100. Andrew 1 Says:

Can you believe this? We are on a bucs blog and you got people saying you got to be crazy or an idiot to be a bucs fan. To those people saying that, kindly get the fuk outa here

  101. Incognito Says:

Stupid to say the OL played decent.
Stupid for McClown to say he only runs in emergency situations.
    Stupid to not sign Incognito.
Stupid to punt on on opponents 36 yard line.
Stupid for people to say be patient.
Stupid to say put glennon in.

  102. StPeteBucsFan Says:

OK in the never ending search for a bright spot. Last year we gave away the opening game to an inferior team with a stupid play and stupid call to end the game.

This year we got our arses kicked by the defending division champs. If you gotta lose might as well be to a better team which played well.

Hey I’m disgusted too. But really…ya gotta give the Panthers some credit. They just might have a good team. Time will tell.

  103. Incognito Says:

I’m not so sure cover 2 is a viable defense anymore.

  104. DB55 Says:

Nope it’s not! I just hope lovie is ready week 2! Had 5 months for week 1, let’s see what week 2 brings.

  105. Architek Says:

    This team is just non-interesting

  106. Ray Rice Says:

Give it time? Give it time is what you tell the Ravens fans this morning after they saw the video of what really happened in the elevator. Give them time to look in the mirror and admit how stupid they were for giving me a standing ovation in the pre-season game. Poor bastards they believed me….. I’ve been a Bucs fan even before I got drafted out of “Schiano U.” A loss hurts…. but to lose to Anderson at home and look incompetent in the process hurts more.

  107. DB55 Says:

What I don’t understand about the ray rice video is that it been available for months how did they not see it before?

  108. Orca Says:

People are crazy. One person referred to it as “the Lovie experiment”??? Guess what, like it or not, he’s gonna be here a while, so it’s no experiment. And all the rest of you – IT’S ONE F*CKING GAME!!! GET A GRIP!!! Or continue being miserable pricks… There’s those of you who like to complain about how long you’ve been waiting… Get over yourself. Like it or not, all those previously years don’t matter now. What matters is that this is a new year, a new organization, and massive changes don’t often equal immediate success. It’s often ugly out of the gate. THAT IS REALITY!!! Now, if you wanna howl at the moon and scream and cry and sh1t your diapers over and over and over again, well you’re a miserable bastard. That’s for all of you complainers. Start the line at the Skyway and be prepared to jump. Do it.

  109. Incognito Says:

    @ orca
So what you’re saying is that you haven’t paid ant attention to what’s happened over the past 5-6 years and you’re content w mediocrity is that correct?

  110. Oahubuc Says:

Blah blah. Take the millions and millions in payroll, operations, and subsidies and show measurable improvement from 2009 and maybe I’ll buy one of those Burger King jerseys that are being foisted on us.

  111. Destinjohnny Says:

Saw tounges dragging yesterday which you normally do with players coChes

I know very well what’s been going on for 5-6 years, and it’s disappointing as a fan, but I’ve learned to have some emotional distance from these things. Apparently you need some instruction in the English language or in basic reasoning skills, or both. Having a little perspective after 1 game is all I’m suggesting. because (a) things will improve, (b) all that kvetching has got to be driving you people nuts, and (c) it’s disturbing to read these comments from idiots that are lacking any kind of balance. Does the b1tching and moaning make you feel better or worse? Does the b1tching and moaning make any positive difference in how the team does business? These fools are ready to jump off a bridge, or throw Lovie off a bridge, after 1 f%cking game… How reasonable is that? Do you people actually enjoy complaining? It would appear on the surface that you do, since you seek every opportunity to do so. I just don’t see the point in that. It doesn’t make being a fan very enjoyable to be so reactive that one game causes such angst. Really, you people need some therapy, or to find some other hobbies.

  113. deesbucs Says:

God-Awful Embarassment again. I predicted the 0-1 start, but what I am so pissed about is how terrible we looked losing.
Outcoached and outplayed on every level.
The only remotely positive is how “well” we played in garbage time against a ‘prevent’ defense and conservative offensive, run the clock playcalling.
Carolina should have kept their foot on the gas so that their would be no denying the reality of the thorough ass whipping we recieved.
This game should have been 34-0
This team looked far worse to me than last years opening day team a la Schiano/Freeman. At least last year, it took some shit calls by the refs to bury us. This year, we just look like a bunch of incompetent clowns.
