What the Bucs’ tunnel looks like after the team has taken the field and the smoke and flamethrowers have been cleared out.

Bucs fans always have a blast at the annual night practice during training camp, held at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway. This event, which replaced the old Fan Fest, is much more popular.

First of all, it is held at night, fans get to see football like 11-on-11 scrimmages, skills competitions and 1-on-1 passing drills. During Fan Fest, there was none of this stuff.

Also, Fan Fest was held in the middle of a scorching hot July Saturday afternoon, where fans roasted in long autograph lines.

The Bucs got some work in, and fans had a good time, getting a glimpse of the Bucs before preseason starts, and, oh yeah, fireworks!

Amanda Borges and Jenna Laine of SportsTalkFlorida.com take a look at the night practice, and the end of the first week of training camp 2014 in this video.

Glennon is a one trick pony throwing deep and can hit right down the middle, but he is gosh awful to either side. It is very telling when he came in last throwing at moving targets. Licht needs to call the Cowboys and send them a clip of his long completion and sell them they need Glennon as a backup to their starter and is smart and experienced and can start if their QB goes down is slow coming back from injury. Get the best future pick you can and get Glennon out of here now! Patton is a burner with great hands and moves who should start as our returner and backup Murphy in the slot. Start Daniels and Omemeh at Guard with Meredith and Edwards as their backups. Streeter and Wright should backup VJax and Evans. Owusu should also make the team if he shows well in the Preseason. Martin and Sims should be the starting tandem at RB with Mike and Demps as their backups. Josh is the starting QB with Kafka as his experienced backup. Our other QB should make the practice squad. The defense is already star studded and ready and you already know the starters there. We have a team that will surprise and make the playoffs!!!

    Well said on Glennon

  3. Bucnjim Says:

That’s funny because Glennon won it last year and Freeman couldn’t hit a target.

  4. ToesOnTheLine Says:

So which is it Owlykat can Glennon throw a good deep ball or is his arm weak? I’ve heard you say both yet the two are contradicting analysis?

  5. Jim Says:

‘Cement Shoes’ throws a great long pass when there is NO pressure. He can’t do it on game day!

I miss the old fan fest because u could be on the field and do interactive games with some of (lesser known) players. It just seemed much more interactive other than autograph and practice. I have been to both formats and I just wish they would incorporate both models to make it the best experience. Last fan fest they had I took people with me who weren’t fans and because they had such a good time, now they follow the team. Just saying.
