Bucs Preseason Voices Team Up For More

May 23rd, 2014
Former Bucs great Ronde Barber, now a FOX Sports NFL voice, shown here with Dick Stockton, will team up with his Bucs preseason partner Chris Myers for NFL regular season games this fall.

Former Bucs great Ronde Barber, shown here with Dick Stockton, will team up with his Bucs preseason partner Chris Myers for NFL regular season games this fall.

Soon after former Bucs stud Ronde Barber announced his retirement and desire to earn cash behind a microphone, he took a gig as the Bucs’ color analyst on preseason telecasts, replacing fellow secondary teammate John Lynch.

Both players worked alongside FOX Sports veteran Chris Myers.

Even though Ronde had his share of rookie bumps in the road, he proved, with some smoothing of rough edges, to be a fine analyst. In fact, the duo of Myers and Ronde have so impressed the suits at FOX Sports with their chemistry, they will be doing more than Bucs games this fall, as Myers Twittered this week.

And Joe has news to add. Joe reached out to a trusted broadcasting source that told Joe both Myers and Ronde will return for a second consecutive season calling Bucs preseason games. All four preseason games, in fact.

Memorial Day Weekend is here folks, and before you know it, so too will be the Fourth of July. And once the stench of fireworks has abated, and dogs across the land can crawl out from underneath their beds, football is within sight.

I’m sure there are more ex-Bucs broadcasters than any other team.
    Barber
    Dungy
    Lynch
    Sapp
    Gruden
    K. Johnson
    King
    Dilfer
    S. Young
    And, I’ve probably missed someone.

Its great to continue watching our old Buccaneers through the our TVs. It keeps the memories more vivid. I love to have Rhonde be a part of the new era with Lovie through the telecast.

And talking about broadcast we can’t forget our very own Gene Dekerhoff bringing our play by play in the radio. I know we have the best in the business.

And I said this before when it comes to websites Joe is also part of this group which makes our Buccaneer experience more tangible. You make the experience stay alive during the season but specially in the off-season.

    Thanks Joe!

    @Tampabaybucfan:

    Don’t forget the Rockstar.

  6. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Bring back Jesse “The Body” Ventura!!!!!!!!

  7. Patrick in VA Says:

Speaking of Dekerhoff, does anyone know where I can go to stream the audio broadcast of the Buc games once the season starts. I’d much rather listen to that with the game muted

Glad to hear Ronde is will be back! I can’t wait for the season to start! Now is the time of year, especially with a new coaching staff, where everyone is speculating on what will happen when the season starts. Everyone has perfect clarity on what players are good, which ones are deficient and which ones are not capable of taking it to the next level. We know what teams are good, what teams are bad. We are all experts based on our 20/20 vision looking back at last year. Its all fun at first but then all the opinions transend into mundane drearyness. Its all BS and we really don’t know whats going to happen until the bullets start flying. I am ready for hitting, scoring, highlights, fumbles, interceptions, replays, too many commercials, wings and beer!
Sucks we have to wait a few more months!

  9. Patrick in VA Says:

More specifically, where I can go aside from local radio stations. I’m not in the Tampa area and NFL restrictions preclude iheartradio and cbs radio from being able to do the live feed so they replay old talk radio shows during the games

  10. Patrick in VA Says:

@TBBF and Schiano now as well

  11. Jim Walker Says:

    Barber FTW!

  12. GlenninGrad Says:

Patrick: I know satellite radio has alot of channel with nfl stuff. Other than that you have to stream from nfl for $

  13. William Says:

Patrick this is an option for you:

    https://audiopass.nfl.com/nflap/secure/packages?ttv=1

    Archived games included

Not bad. The problem is how to listen with TV audio system.

  14. Patrick in VA Says:

@Glennin – Right on, thanks man. I don’t mind paying, I just didn’t know if there was another option.

  15. Patrick in VA Says:

@William – Thanks, I’ll be DVRing the games as well so it might help with syncing it up.

  16. William Says:

@Patrick – DVR with Mobile phone with NFL App should do the trick.
You might be able to find a cable to attach your phone to sound input port in TV or Sound System receiver…

  17. El Gato Says:

    @Patrick,
The Bucs website streams the radio broadcast live on game days. I live in Texas and this was how I kept up with their games last season. And it’s free.
