Chucky And Johnny Football

February 27th, 2014

Former Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach Chucky and hopefully future Bucs quarterback Johnny Football have a sitdown to tape an episode of “Gruden’s QB Camp.” Let’s just say Chucky is geeked. Enjoy, compliments of BSPN.

Yep you sure are a simple guy.

Maybe after he’s with his third team. His new name would be Johnny Journeyman.

  3. RastaMon Says:

Bucs will have as much of a chance @ Johnny Football…as Joe does of going back in a time machine and having to fight off Rachel Watsons unrelenting sexual advances…

  4. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

Tampa will have as much chance at Johnny Football, as a fart has of staying intact in the wind.
I still think he is going to Houston, but even if he don’t, I see no way he falls to us.

  5. Buc1987 Says:

“I’m accused of being too positive and liking everybody, but I do like Freeman. I wish I had Josh Freeman, I’ll just say it like that.’’

“I’ve lived in Tampa 13 years, and I have studied Tampa Bay carefully for a lot of reasons. If you don’t think Josh Freeman can play, I think you’re making a huge mistake.”
    -Jon Gruden

  6. Mark Says:

I wonder what Gruden really thinks when interviewing QB’s.
Can’t ya just see the wheels spinning.
Everyone knows what he said or will say on TV, but what’s cooking in his head.
    I’ m sure something like this maybe,” ##*@ stupid #####, ***** rookie.

For a coach that loves QBs, it’s strange TB never had one with him.
    Give them #ell John.

  7. Bill T Says:

Interesting how we hear from “everyone is great” Gruden but not Jaworski. On ESPN no less…bashing Manziel. “3rd round” pick from Jaworski

  8. PitTip Says:

Looks like the need a shut down corner and a #7 pick.

  9. Joe Says:

    Joe enjoys that analogy. 🙂

  10. eric Says:

Great I would love for you to be balanced on JFB (LOL) where are Jaws thoughts on JFB. That would have been great reporting blogging whatever if Joe would also include the opinions that completely disagree with his, and if Gruden is calling him great I take that with a grain of salt remember his draft classes with the Bucs!

  11. Sam Says:

This is all a PR campaign to ensure another team drafts him, right?

“The meeting was brief, the request bizarre. Tampa Bay Coach Jon Gruden didn’t ask Rob Johnson to throw a pass or even set foot on the football field. A stack of videotapes told Gruden everything he needed to know. Well, almost everything. “He asked me to lift my shirt to see my abs,” said Johnson, 29. “He’s just crazy like that. He wanted to see how hard I’ve worked.” Johnson was happy to oblige, and, apparently, Gruden was sufficiently impressed.”

  13. Andrew 1 Says:

    @ Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning

gotta watch out for those lingering farts lol.

  14. Andrew 1 Says:

I’ve been tough on little Johnny, but he says he has changed and thats good for him. Still wouldn’t want to draft him lol because I still think hes going to have problems with distractions (albeit a lot more controlled this time) and more importantly than that, his reckless play will get him injured often in the pros. That is of course unless he learns to use the pocket, then he might actually make it. I dont expect that to happen though.

  15. TylerDurden Says:

Funny how you ladies hate soap operas, and all the other scripted shows on tv, yet, you follow the dreck of what is pro sports.

  16. Patrick in VA Says:

@Eric – Joe has posted plenty of articles that counter his beliefs. He’s been more than fair in his coverage of the situation, considering his misguided and unfortunate leanings on the issue

  17. Eric Says:

“Am I gonna have to deal with this if I draft you”

    Hilarious.

Lot of the mocks are showing Johnny falling, with Watkins and Robinson and Mack rising.

Cleveland likes Carr better, jags want Henne back as starter. Texans are Bortles or maybe Clowney.

Johnny coming here looks better every day. Yessssssss!

Sorry sir but you are wrong. We heard about Jaworkski already. Don’t make accusations against Joe when you don’t even check the site regularly.

  19. WalkdaPlank Says:

Interesting sit-down. But the Johnny bromance gets more annoying by the day. Can’t wait till May when all this nonsense is over, unless of course he’s miraculously drafted by the Bucs. Then this site would probably blow up into JoeJohnnyFan.com. 😉 I’m not saying I wouldn’t be interested to see how he translates to the NFL but DAMN there are now more frequent Johnny posts and references than there are about Rachel Watson. Just as long as you don’t replace the Hooters Girls with pictures of your Johnny lush we are still good Joe. 😉

  20. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

I want Bortles, but I have to admit I am curious about Johnny. I reminds me A LOT of Brett Favre, personality and play style.

  21. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Imagine how we feel when Watkins is suggested by commenters ALL THE TIME. 😉

  22. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

I agree Eric. I do think one of the QBs will fall to us. Either Bortles (doubtful) or Johnny.

Who knows? Maybe the Browns will trade their first pick for Revis, seeing as how they are going to take Carr with their second first round pick.

  23. Clowney Says:

I would like to be in that room if Clowney and Johnny are available at #7.

I think Kahlil Mack and Bortles are possibly going to upset the early round picks.

I would love to have JF play for the Bucs. It would make our life more interesting.

    BucBonzai,

please direct me to the JBF reference to Jaworski talking about Manziel.

  25. WalkdaPlank Says:

Really don’t understand the Revis trade talk. We would be screwed without him, like another Fearsome Foursome crew from 2012. Johnthan Banks is still on the fence. Johnson is a nickel corner at best. Everyone behind him is just a body. We need to sign Brent Grimes or Tillman for depth. Or maybe draft another corner. If I’m Licht, I take nothing short of two 1st rounders and maybe a mid round pick for Revis. But we don’t nearly have good enough depth or pass rush to compensate for the collateral damage of trading Revis. Not gonna happen.

Johnny will fold like a 2 dollar suit case in a florida hurricane.

The $1000 Jeopardy question in 2 years will be. What was the last name of Johnny Football.

  28. bigpoppabuc Says:

I can’t believe people still talk about this Bortles kid. I would take Murray over Bortles. He is absolutely going to be a bust. I just don’t see it. Bortles is just an awful QB prospect in my eyes.

  29. Harry Says:

The more I read and see about this kid, the more I love him. I love his fire and attitude and that he wants to get better. Too bad some of you can’t see that.

From a Barry Switzer (who knows a little about football) interview:

When asked: “If you had to start a team with one player, who would it be?”

    Switzer responded with:

“Well, Peyton is at the twilight of his career … This might surprise you, but I think the most dynamic player…

I’ve seen Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson. I’ve seen Oscar Robertson play live. I saw him against my college team as a sophomore for Cincinnati. With three minutes left to go in the game, my team had 54 points and Oscar had 56, so he’s outscoring my team. He’s the only player, and then Michael Jordan comes along, but [Robertson’s] the only player that can take control of a game and win a game by himself.

Well, let me tell you, Johnny Manziel is the first football player I’ve ever seen that can control the game like those guys did basketball. It’s unbelievable the numbers that he can put up against the competition game after game after game.

I don’t like some of his antics. I’m sure Kevin Sumlin didn’t either. That all aside, let me tell you, he is a great, great football player. And I predict he’ll be drafted within the first five picks if he’s not the first pick overall. I bet he’ll be no. 1 on a lot of people’s board.”

Pick away MGMers, I know you will…

  30. Bill T Says:

BuccaneerBonzai – wrong? Jaworski said it specifically yesterday. When were those comments posted here in last 24 hrs?

  31. Stevek Says:

    Harry,

Good, that means JF gets drafted before us, and we get an edge rusher or OT.

  32. Mike10 Says:

    @ Joe,
Not that I completely disagree, but reading your site err day, I’m trying to convince myself that I really want J Football. I gotta know why you want him so bad and why you’re so sure he will be successful and not a liability off-the-field.

  33. Me First Says:

This question may be irrelevant to the topic..but can somone please name me 1 rookie qb to play well, an win games without a top 15 rushing attack.. I’LL Wait..

  34. Getaclue Says:

He very well could fall to us

  35. lurker Says:

    florida hurricanes are soft.

this will be an intriguing draft and free agency. manziel would bring major excitement and potential to the team. oh, and wins.

  36. SAMCRO Says:

Can anyone imagine us taking WR Sammy Watkins. I would not be disappointed. I would groom Sammy for the X receiver, VJax’s current position, and then move VJak to Y slot, and keep Williams at Z flanker. Having Watkins on the outside takes advantage of his youthful legs, and as we know, VJax has lost a step. So it makes even better sense to move VJax to the slot and let him operate in space with Wright. There’s no-way we would be the worst receiver tandem in our division.

    X = Watkins
    Y = Jackson
    Z = Williams
    TE = Wright

  37. BamBamBuc Says:

Still hoping Houston takes him and we move up to the Rams spot to take Bridgewater or he somehow slips past the Jags, Raiders and Browns to us (so long as the Vikes don’t jump up to get him). I’m tired of these projects. Bridgewater is the most NFL ready QB in the draft, probably the smartest QB in the draft, althetic as well. Bortles is a project. Manziel is either Steve Young or Jamarcus Russell.

I don’t hate Glennon, all things considered he was acceptable last year. I don’t, however, think he will ever be much more than Dalton or Tannehill. Get Bridgewater and we may not have to hear how we have the “4th best QB in the division” anymore.

  38. PRBucFan Says:

    BRIDGEWATER OR BUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. Johnny Dejay Says:

The Bucs need to do whatever it takes to put themselves in position to draft Johnny Manziel. That kid has “it” and I can’t wait to see him shred NFL defenses for many years.

  40. mpmalloy Says:

So let me get this straight? Gruden said a bunch of flattering
things to a young highly drafted quarterback? Wow. That is weird.

    STOP THE MADNESS!

  41. Buccanole Says:

To all yall who don’t want us to get Johnny Football crack is a very bad drug and you shouldn’t smoke it

  42. Mike Says:

This is a funny one right here! Joe put up Gruden’s interview with Glennon last year and Chucky was in a all for Glennon, he can make all the throws, really good QB, lalalalala. Same thing he does with every QB. This is nothing special here

  43. zam Says:

Is it me or is Chucky looking more and more like Philip Seymour Hoffman every day?

  44. BoJim Says:

Hey. If JF falls to us then we have to take him. Let him compete with MG8. Best one plays. Ta Daaa.
