Danny Gorrer Returns

November 2nd, 2013

When last seen, Danny Gorrer was intercepting Joe Flacco in the Bucs’ first preseason game of 2013. It was as if Gorrer was making a statement, telling fans to forget how he dropped the game-winning interception against the Eagles last season.

Gorrer blew his groin that August night, and he’s been on a fancy form of injured reserve after surgery ever since. Today, the Bucs re-activated him.

Gorrer has been practicing and could log time on Sunday in Seattle. Joe’s not sure what kind of shape Gorrer is in, but he could soon be a step up from Leonard Johnson, who has struggled in his second season.

Leonard has struggled is putting it kindly Joe. Nice story, I like the guy and all but he’s lacking.

THIS IS OUR KEY TO VICTORY!!!

Being 0-7 sucks terribly, but being 1-7, with your sole win against the Seadderall Seasquawks would feel pretty darn good.

Gorrer isn’t exactly a “stud”. Not sure why the Bucs never grabbed Brent Grimes or Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in FA along with Revis, who was clearly not 100% a long time ago, but I suppose he’s till not 100% even though he looked just fine against the Kitties last week. So we’ve got MRSA Johnthan Banks, a damaged good in Revis, an undrafted FA who is playing like one in Johnson, and now a halfway-decent CB coming off groin surgery.

Well, Joe, looks like we have a “Fearsome Foursome ll”.

  4. Splengo Says:

Gorrer will be an upgrade next to Revis.

Never thought this phrase would return from 76.

    Go for 0!

If only Johnny Carson were alive.

  6. Luther Says:

I’m with you @Eric. Winning meaningless games only hurts us. We need impact players everywhere and QB is where we can find one at the top of the draft.

never thought i’d be thinking thank god danny gorrer is back if he’s in game shape i’d love to see him in ahead of leonard johnson and push banks to either step up and play harder or step aside….im hoping this is a big boost especially since receiver isnt a strong point of their offense but then again we did let no name dudes in atlanta torch us….i wanna see the return of that #1 rush defense

  8. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Joe, now that they re-activated him, can someone else be designated with that same IR? (a fancy PUP really)

  9. Capt. Tim Says:

Gorrer has some talent. Hope he stays healthy, and we get to see him get some playing time

  10. Splengo Says:

    Bonsai.

IR-designated to return is one-time per season per team. New rule in 2012.

Man if Danny steps in and proves to be solid the remainder of this lost season, how big of a blow to this season would that injury prove be??
Johnson has been awful in nickel packages this season and has had a big hand in the ones we SHOULD have won, especially in the early losses.
