Panthers 31, Bucs 13

October 24th, 2013

Greg Schiano said the Bucs were the “laughingstock” of the NFL when he took over as head coach in 2012.

That’s debatable, but the Bucs surely are that now — 0-7 is inexcusable for this non-rebuilding team.

Tampa Bay was a national embarrassment tonight on their home turf, where the boos rained down loudly from the small percentage of the sold-out crowd that stayed for the fourth quarter. The Bucs were outcoached again. And what happened to the hard-hitting, in-your-face Bucs defense of the first two weeks of the season?

Wasn’t this a division rivalry game? You know, where teams dislike each other and slug it out to the death?

The Bucs were gutted and gashed. For the third week in a row — three in a row — the opposing quarterback threw for better than 70 percent. This time it was Cam Newton going 23-for-32 for 221 yards and two touchdowns.

Joe’s really struggling to find positives in this loss. Lavonte David did some nice things, as usual. Mike Adams returned from injury and recorded his first NFL sack. Mike Glennon had a few excellent improvisations. Tiquan Underwood rediscovered his hands. The Bucs fought through the finish.

But the Bucs got clobbered. They were not competitive, and now it’s off to the cauldron that is the Seahawks in Seattle.

Get what you can, season is done, and he’s downhill from here on out…..use that draft pick to help replace him!!!!!!!!!

  2. Rob Says:

    Bridgewater or bust.

  3. MadMax Says:

And of course, thats after you replace Dom and schiano!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Patrick Says:

If you get rid of V Jax, then Dom’s whole 2012 Free agency spree was a complete waste.

  5. Harry Says:

Be Terrible for Teddy!!! Not really all that funny; this sucks

  6. MadMax Says:

Dom has been a complete waste Patrick!!

  7. MadMax Says:

    Nicks, Wright, not complete wastes?????!!!!!?????

  8. Harry Says:

Just curious, any Schitzano supporters still out there? Hello….? I only ask, bc as bad a Free was for ALL of 2013, some ppl were holding him up.

  9. MadMax Says:

The best money that could be spent by the Glazers right now is to buy out Butch’s contract……just do it and let him bring in his men…..he’s behind a lot of this anyway so he can set himself up!!!

  10. MadMax Says:

The sooner Dom and Schiano house cleaning is done, the more time they’ll have to work on things, since the season is done!

  11. Harry Says:

I don’t think so MadMax. I don’t want anyone associated with this debacle – and that is exactly what this is. I like the idea of Greg Roman

  12. SeattleBuc Says:

Really want to see Shiano fired headline tomorrow. Please Glazers grow a pair and get rid of this clown.

  13. Rob Says:

I’ve watched or listened to every second of every Buc game since 1980. Tonight, I felt so angry, disappointed, embarrassed, beat down, depressed, dismayed, did I say livid? That I turned off the game mid 4th quarter. Schiano is the worst of the worst Buc coaches ever and that takes a lot to earn that distinction. The talented but underachieving Bucs are a nightmare with no chance of competing at the NFL level. Pull the plug on the failed Schiano experiment. Throw a boatload of cash at the likes of Dungy or Billick ir Ciwher but get a real experienced coach in here. Good gosh! Glazers must admit their mistake and fire the GM for hiring the inept Schiano while you are at it. Go Bycs!

  14. Bulldog Says:

    0-16 again ? Really ? sigh

  15. Bobby Says:

Got to blow this up. We are starting to see the quit in the players and our DC and OC are inept at best. All the coaches except Brian Cox….get ’em outta there! Yes, I am seeing the flaws in Glennon after this game. You have to be a mobile QB if you are going to hold onto the ball that friggin’ long. His pocket awareness is not good, or at least it wasn’t tonight. He could develop but I’d rather have a mobile QB. I watch Andrew Luck and he moves in the pocket like Houdini. Same with guys like Brees and Newton. Let’s get one of those type guys. I don’t want us to lose out but at this point I think we probably will. Who on the schedule can we beat with this coaching staff and the players playing like they are??

  16. Mr. Patrick Says:

In no way, shape or form did that look like professional football. As a devoted Bucs fan, I am totally embarrassed

  17. Harry Says:

Bobby, I hate to say this, but if we are going to lose, I’d rather have the #1 pick than even the #3, 4 or 7th. I hate this. But I am so tired of us not having a franchise QB.

  18. NY Buc Says:

Well I was wrong about this game…my Panther’s fan pal got drinks and dinner on me. Sad that I wasn’t more upset about the team’s performance…the fact that I’ve been beaten down to expect this is a troubling sign. It is time for winds of change to blow through One Buc Place. I’m afraid the team isn’t showing improvement quick enough or in enough areas…next coach up.

  19. MadMax Says:

@Harry, Im good with blowing the whole thing up too….even minus Butch…its just that he’s been here “advising”….HAHAHAHAHA, so install him at interim for now while we keep losing 😉

  20. Warthog Says:

fire schiano/sheridan/sullivan/dominik/all the position coaches/the strengh and conditioning coaches/jenny from HR/the janitor

  21. Capt. Tim Says:

And the horrible part is- next up is Seattle!

Is there anyone who can muster optimism about winning in their stadium??

If so , I salute you. I will be dreading that game for ten day- because it will be a brutal beating- imo
