Joe Talks David, Depth And Switch-Flicking

September 4th, 2013

As usual, Joe dove into all things Bucs with the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, Steve Duemig, on WDAE-AM 620 this evening. It’s the JoeBucsFan Hour, which you can count on every Wednesday at 5 p.m!

Joe goes a little deep on Lavonte David early in the show, and then moves to other topics. Enjoy!

I got to listen to you live today, Joe, nice interview and a great take as always.

I believe you also asked Schiano about the DT picked up on waivers from Bowling Green.

Good stuff, and we need to win our match ups this weekend.

    Geno vs. JF5

    Our D vs. Revisless Jets

    Luke Stocker vs. K2

Rotational depth winning, almost like an NBA team’s bench. A great set of bench players/rotational players can really take you a long way. How do we hold up throughout the game?

There is a “W” hanging out there for the taking this Sunday, we better not be sitting around with our thumbs up our ass. We need to go out and take control of this game. Win this game, and may it be the first of many.

Where is the pass rush going to come from? Well going into last season did you not have that same question? I guess it is all just speculation though right? For all we know Clayborn might return to form and play lights out and we already know what GMC can do. How do we know that what Bennett accomplished last season was not Schiano’s making or was it all just Bennetts overwhelming talent? Who is going to be this years Michael Bennet on the line is what we should be asking? I guess it’s all just speculation though. So since it is all just speculation. Then let me speculate this. I think Schiano is the type of coach that can turn crap (Bennett) into good and make good (GMC) into greatness. Is there anybody out there are you following me here? Do you understand what I’m getting at? I don’t think Schiano is done with project Bowers yet, and if he is. Then Schiano will find and create the next Michael Bennett somewhere on this team. Fans are going to have to learn more about Schiano I guess. This season I believe we all are going to learn about what he is capable of. Until then I know there are a few Schiano haters on this site. So haters just pipe down for now and watch and learn who this guy is. Give him time. It’s going to work.

SteveK…our win our matchups this weekend?

Geno vs. JF5…Geno is not playing against Freeman…Geno is playing against the Bucs D.

Our D vs. Revisless Jets ….our D is playing against the Jets offense.

Luke Stocker vs. K2….Stocker won’t be covering K2, he’s on offense.

Seriously Steve that’s how you think of winning matchups. None of them are going head to head against eachother. Or do you mean outperform the other?

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

After watching Schiano & Sullivan on their press conferences…is there anyone out there that wants to return to Raheem & Greg Olson?

    Oh….ok….I didn’t think so.

  5. Buc1987 Says:

@Joe…because if I asked the typical Buc fan going into last season. How do you think Michael Bennett’s going to do this year? Fans would have said Michael who?

  6. Buc1987 Says:

Tampabaybucfan…it’s what I was talking about last night in here. I believe in Schiano because I hear it in his tone of voice and his choice of words.

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

The Buc Realist would like to see a matchup between Mark Dominick & John Idzik….the only problem is that the Realist would be rooting for Idzik!!!

    Buc 1987

He is a mature guy… I think we can be very proud to have him. Like I said, not only can he get us there…I think he can keep us there.
The differnce between Schiano & Morris is astounding.

I think its just you & me….preaching to the choir….we got to get BucFansSuck on her so we can have some real fun.

I hear LVD has a smoking problerm….wanna discuss?

  10. Buc1987 Says:

LOL Tampabaybucfan…no but seriously I think a good coach can make all the difference in a player. GMC was a bust until Schiano. I’m not saying Schiano made GMC a good player. I’m saying he gets the most out of his players. It’s like what he said about Bowers if it’s not there, it’s not there, or something along those lines. I really DO think Schiano created Bennett’s stats.

  11. Buc1987 Says:

“The differnce between Schiano & Morris is astounding.”

I actually picked up on that a month ago. I don’t know why it took me so long.

LOL the smoking problem. All it takes dor Bucsfansuck to come in here is to see alot of activity going on in a thread. That and Couch Fan. I 100% guarantee Bucsfansuck is Buc’n Junkie.

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I think Schiano will make or break Bowers….I believe he give everyone a chance & if you are good enough, a second chance.

I will damn well guarantee you this….Schiano didn’t like Bowers “gun in the airport” action….he doesn’t put up with that behavior….that coupled with Bowers being a bit slack…and you can best believe Schiano will ride his ass.
I hope Bowers rises to the occaision….if not, he will mee the same fate as LGB & several others.

  13. Buc1987 Says:

LOL just 2 old people up this late in a thread preaching to the choir. BTW I did not listen to Schiano’s presser today yet. I usually never miss one. As I said before on here. He is the only analyst that I trust and listen to.

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

87 Good point…well, I have to turn in….early wake up.
Sorry to leave you likely talking to yourself….but, sometimes that works for me.

One last question. I have to completely close out of JBF then sign back on to read updated posts….can’t just stay on the site & post, then answer one….is that the way it is or do I need to downlowad some sort of software to solve the problem?
I’ll have to read your answer in the AM……..nighty/night…..

  16. Buc1987 Says:

okay I’m going to listen to the presser now see ya.

  17. Buc1987 Says:

Tampabaybucfan ..I don’t know. It’s not the way it is for me. I stay logged in at all times usually. Unless I clear my browser cache. Possibly you have an automatic clearing of your browser cache everytime to go on the net. Maybe it’s better to ask Joe that question. As I have an old version of Windows I downgraded my system to XP from Vista awhile back. I like XP so much I refuse to go higher or switch to windows 7.

  18. SteveK Says:

    Buc1987,

I expect a team win, and I am anticipating JF5 having a more productive outing than Geno, Luke Stocker to look like a better option than DJ Toes on the Line and for our D infused with Revis to hold the Jets down.

    No Fly Zone is here.

  19. Fritz50 Says:

Joe, prolly just me, but missed any reference to “Switch-Flicking” in the audio. Could you, or anyone here for that matter, esplain to me what it is? Never heard the term before. Can wait till tomorrow, of course.

  20. Joe Says:

Joe, prolly just me, but missed any reference to “Switch-Flicking” in the audio.

Yes, it was just you. Subject was discussed.

  21. Splengo Says:

I’ve heard of bitch-slapping but not switch-flicking. Must be a new dance or something.

  22. Buc1987 Says:

Switch-Flicking…I would imagine it means flicking on the switch. Like as in the preseason is over it’s time to flick the switch.

  23. Splengo Says:

    Buc1987,

When you said that, a light went on for me. Lol
